Shortland Street 1997 ep 1171 (Lionel & Kirsty reconcile)

The 1997 season premiere- David is overjoyed to learn he is going to be a father and shares the news with the clinic staff. Gary saves Caroline and Nick from the dodgy waste disposal company whilst Rachel recovers from her car crash in the clinic and Lionel and Kirsty come to terms with their reconciliation.

The last time Tina Cross sung the original Shortland Street theme song I don't know but in the next episode. The opening graphics don't show this opening and closing credits. But I guess the original Shortland Street theme song stays on for longer until the theme song changes to something new that would draw in more viewers to up the ratings even more.

The last time this was used as the opening for Shortland Street 1997. As it's no longer used as Shortland Street's original theme song ever again.

probably Shortland Street's best couple in the mid-to-late 90s, Kirsty and Lionel would be close contenders
