You forgot the Canadian Football Network (1987-90) introduction. The CFN was created after CTV's rights expired (or it withdrew). I remember here in Vancouver seeing CFL games occasionally on CKVU 13 before TSN became part of the basic cable TV service. Strange how broadcasting arrangements have altered: CTV now owns TSN which has the exclusive CFL TV rights. If the league ever expands then probably the TV rights will have to shared.
You have taste in CFL tv intros, my friend - Personally, I'm one for '79, because that's the year I became interested in the CFL; the intro from '69 is also one I can enjoy; '77 comes in third, from my vantage point, especially with the statement, "The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation - only the athletes are closer to the action."
The CFL on CBC Theme. Best. Ever. (1987-1994) A great move for CBC and CFL when a young, creative genius Arthur Smith took charge. Only to move south and bigger pasture. Canada's loss.
I was gonna say what this guy did... 2006 BC lions are hoisting the cup at the end. Also all the uniforms are from the 2005 - 2011 reebok deal. Regardless, this video is awesome.
CBC intros are the best. Then suddenly in early 2000s everything goes down hill just like everything else in the world. music got worse. tv shows got worse. cars got worse lol. Likely its because the people who were around in the '60s to '90s all retired and gave way to horrible people coming from broadcasting school who thought there was the best way. A new branding sort of speak. But it ends up failing big time. This is around the time remakes in tv shows and going back to heritage and retro looks in everything started. Because we finally realized how bad things have gotten.
Interesting how the early intros refer not to the CFL but to "Canadian professional football"...
Thanks for posting. It brought back memories
Thanks for this! For some reason that 1970's trumpet theme has always played in my head, never forgot it.
Give It One by Maynard Ferguson. Great song.

Anybody here ever heard of a CFL theme known as the “All-Pro Countdown” circa early 80’s possibly CTV?
CBC's 1981 CFL intro had the vibe of lounge music in a club as well as the theme for 1982 and 1983
69, 72 and 79. With 77 and 70 getting honorable mentions

who is arthur smith?
"General Motors, and your Chevrolet and Oldsmobile dealers across Canada". Well, there was a decent sponsor, wasn't there?
This is cool 😎.
CBC late '80's '90s theme would rival any sports theme.
Junior Ah You at 4:47 - I find myself saying, "Get 'Em, Junior!"
If there is a way to upgrade the intro to include the 2022 tsn cfl intro that would be great the best one of all time
Canadian Pacific Kansas City, serving Canadians, Americans and Mexicans with integrated transportation.
I like the theme song in 1983
13:05
I had always thought the 1972 intro was CTV's? Ah well, I was wrong all this time.
Have you got any CFL regular season games from '63 or '64 with Joe Kapp and the BC Lions?
10:22 isn't 2002. I am in it and Atleast 6. If it was 2002 I would be a baby
@_fiasn did they time travel? Because unless they have footage from the future it's 2006 at least
@_fiasn 10:57 I'm the kid with the green hair. Also Riders didn't have the blowup helmet in 2002
@_fiasn but the version show is not from 2002. As I said
@_fiasn nah. Just saw an inaccuracy and wanted to comment on it.

Although the quality in the CFL has been better than the NFL in recent years, the NFLs song is better.
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL???!!!!
And ol' Hank was dropped kicked from the Mouse network because of his comparing Barry to Adolf

god I haven't heard something so incoherently wrong in years.
times change, people change, nothing went downhill other than your outlook on life.
