I'm from Burnley, down in England and I remember all of this. I'm the same age as Luke and I've never forgotten him. I remember my dad (no fool, ex-soldier but now long dead) watching the TV and saying Luke didn't do it, I was really worried on Luke's behalf, poor lad. Respect to your Dad, whom seen through it ... I thought the Jury got it right... UNTIL I studied the case the books and podcasts... then it hit me .. Luke was A PATSY.. probably set up before he left his house... I've looked at everything multiple times . It's a Fact Luke Mitchell was the only friend Jodi Had. The sky news interview James Mathew's Cued in by His Brother Dalkeith Police Officer David or Brian Mathew's (source Lawyer Scott Forbes). It shows what Happened to A Innocent School Kid was intentional Child Abuse in blamed Luke despite clear evidence on others.
@rosebankross He reckoned it was weird that the media, who were clearly taking directions from the police (like they did in the Troubles), had a laser focus on one lad, who clearly wasn't capable of sticking up for himself. Very unusual to only have one suspect so early on. Even in the case of Jamie Buldger, weeks and weeks went by before suspects were announced.
@rosebankross Yeh, from what I remember. Also, I've heard things since about police conduct that make me think they just wanted a conviction at all costs. Luke was easy prey.
I lived in Edinburgh when Jodie was murdered. It's frustrating that the police botched this murder investigation. Tunnel vision from the start denied all of the facts to be considered, before jumping to conclusions. They hid vital information that fit their theory.
@cstewart7108 lol I am the same .. I have fell out and aggravated everyone over the last 3 years.. its mad but I trust no one and suspect everyone. Its done me well. I now have 100% convinced that Luke was set up by the Jones Family, whom also had told police attending Jodi House that Luke & Jodi had left Jodi’s together. That's why the police were misinformed at that early stage... in real time Luke was in fact cooking tea in his own house. When the DNA results came back. It cleared Luke Mitchell completely. That's when in my view the Police were criminally responsible for Setting Luke Up as a PATSY.
Having went to the same school as both Luke and Jodi at the same time, albeit 2 years above them and knowing both of them personally, this case has been really close to home for me. I know for a fact that Luke never did this and Jodi wouldn’t have wanted him being framed for the murder. Jodi was such a sweet girl as we used to speak in the passing within the school’s music department. I still find it hard to come to terms with the way she was so brutally murdered and also how she’s been let down by her family. Someone within her family knows what’s happened and are covering it up. I also believe also that the real perpetrator(s) are closer to home for the Jones family. The proof they’re hiding something is there for all to see. Imagine that being your family member and nothing connecting Luke forensically to the murder. You’d be moving mountains to find the real perpetrator(s). For that reason and all the changing of stories, it’s clear perverting the course of justice. Those hiding the truth should be ashamed. Having assisted Dr Sandra Lean and her team on this case, we have all faced a lot of grief in a number of ways. The establishment are terrified of the truth and I believe that Luke will see the outside of the prison purely based on the fact that the Police have made such a hash of the whole case, they don’t want to be taken to task over their corruption as those found to be turning a blind eye to leads or evidence and trying to hide evidence to fit their narrative are culpable and could be prosecuted.
It’s scary how corrupt the system is. Poor kids. Praying Luke gets out soon. It’s hard to believe he is still locked up. Thank god for people like you. Idk how to help. Joined all groups on fb but doesn’t suggest much.

The police didn't know what time Jodi was attacked or died when speaking to him that night yet his false alibi was for that exact time frame of her death. What a Very telling Coincidence. Luke was Not home in that time frame of 5 to 5.30 & so, did not know if his brother was or not. Luke had left to meet Jodi before his brother got home from work. They reeled that poor lad into it the Next Day when the mother had sobered up. Their statements changed every time the cops went back to tell them info they found out, didn't match. They changed the alibi 3 times within the 1st week. Lean & Forbes have Never told that Fact.
Jodi's grandmother, her sister & boyfriend realised they'd repeated to the cops what Luke had Told Them about the actions of the dog & so they amended their statement about that detail, that was All. Now I see that Lean has a big banner & posters as her next hoodwinking ploy, "MIA FOUND HER". The dog did Not climb over & through the V in the wall & so into the woods, ONLY Luke DID. It was proven that his torch did Not have the scope to have seen the body which was behind a big log & amongst bushes - on that pitch dark, rainy, starless night, At All.
Lean always uses the wording of 'case papers' to Pretend that she had all the documents & all the statements from the trial, she does Not & Never has. She had paperwork from his defence lawyer for the appeal process from way back at that time, Nothing else.
Over 40 police & seasoned investigators worked this case very carefully for a Long time.
The police did an Excellent job to put that scumbag psychopathic child killer Exactly where he needs to be.

I love the way that you've explained how badly this case was handled. For such a violent crime, and the fact Jodi fought for her life, Luke didn't have a mark on his body, there's no forensics whatsoever, so how the hell they convicted him is just mind boggling!

You are correct, it is not possible to have a fight, where the victim fought for her life, then strip them, best them, stab/slash them, tie them up and mutilate the body without there being a forensic trace! Then Luke had had to achieve the impossible of leaving no trace, without washing himself and hair. All the gossip in the world does not make it anymore possible

Luke was nearly 15 years old & a very sly street-wise drug dealing knife carrying Punk. He used hash & pot daily & at school. He ended up at the Catholic school but was so full of arrogance & such Disrespect, he had abysmal satanic writings all over his text & work books. His house was known as the local drug den & the brothel. The kids at school called him the Savage. He had No problems standing up to big burly detectives, shouting at them, swearing at them & he called one a fkn retard. Lean, Forbes, their cronies who praise them up & his mother, like to talk of him as this meek little 14 years young choirboy & refer to him as - 'just a 14 year old Boy' all the time. They were both former police officers who were thrown off the force for Corruption. Again, Jodi had Zero defensive injuries & to say that there would have been a bloodbath is good marketing for Lean & Forbes books of BS. Lean's first book had to be pulled from the shelves, because of all the lies & 'mistakes'. Luke's friends who saw him that evening said he was the cleanest they had ever seen him. He hassled the crap out of them to get them to meet him that evening, thinking he was establishing a further alibi. They were very surprised that he even called them because he was with Jodi basically every night. It's not hard to stuff some dirt under your nails & dirty up your hair, he wasn't like that when the friends were with him earlier in the evening. He was to meet his other girlfriend that night, another fact that he failed to tell the cops about. Luke's DNA was on Jodi's bra. The cops had no idea what time Jodi died when the investigation began. Corrine & Luke fabricated an alibi as being together at home, for the exact time that Jodi was murdered - they made it around 5.15 p.m. Funny that. They later brought Shane into the alibi. As more information was gathered, all 3 changed the details of that alibi more than once. Shane eventually told the Truth & testified that Luke wasn't home & that his mother had coerced him into giving Luke a False alibi before, as She had done. She wasn't home at the time of 5.05 p.m. & was seen on CCTV getting items off the shelves at the local store. She didn't drive home the way she told the cops she did either.
Luke was Not interviewed alone At All, just Another blatant lie from these 'creators'. Luke was much older when in court & so, looked a Lot different. He was also made to look different again when Andrina was to testify. The fact that she didn't recognise him in court just shows that she wasn't there to Lie. The 2 witnesses who saw him at the other end of the path 50 minutes later, Did pick him out in court. Lean & Forbes Never mention these 2 vital witnesses. To say that the police took a green bomber jacket off Luke the night she was found, is a Blatant Lie. The green jacket he was known to have in the months prior & that he was seen wearing That day, Disappeared, as did all his knives & his balaclava. He was wearing big snow shoes when he went to 'find her' by walking up that pathway that night. Many of his friends testified about that jacket, including the girlfriend & two of his teachers. There were photos produced of him wearing that jacket previously. Jodi was found in bushes & under a tree In Fact. It was Luke's idea to meet her family at the top of that pathway as he told Jodi's mum he would do when she contacted him about where Jodi was. He was good to go within 3 minutes, including borrowing a torch. This was after 11 p.m., on a school night. He met the 3 at the east end of the path & asked them if they had anything of Jodi's for the dog to sniff. Why would they have anything of Jodis, her family thought she was at someone's house. He told the dog "find Jodi". Within 8 minutes of him meeting her family there, he went back down the path, climbed through the high V in the wall, went off to the right & found Jodi in the pitch dark with the sky full of black rain clouds above. It was Proven that his torch did not have the scope to see the body. To say that his mother handed the missing skunting knife to the cops the next day is a Blatant Lie. That 'receipt' was for November & for the purchase of a Same skunting knife, that was still missing. I have read the autopsy report, he absolutely Did carry out His version of the Black Dahlia murder. There was No 'frenzied knife attack' At All. He was Methodical & Calculated. Someone cleaned his room before those 2 photos were taken, the cops said it was the worst putrid tip they had ever seen. Within a couple of days, Scott Forbes told the cops that Mark Kane had scratches on his face - for 50,000 pounds, a BS story for the media. Kane was Seen on CCTV, no scratches on his face & a solid alibi. Forbes got No money. For that Bogus 2 part doc, Forbes repeated that Lie & added that Kane had a knife. Of course, Kane was deceased before that show was made. Have a good look at the photo of that path - would you have Your child walk that path alone at Any time? No & Jodi wasn't allowed to & she never did. Lean & Forbes accuse every person who lived in the area at the time who had a Pulse. They get off Mostly, accusing each & every one of Jodi's family members & the accusation is Murder. All 3 Mitchells changed their statements more than once. For me the two words that stick out "classic transference" everything that has been said about the Micthell family has been the Jones family all along! Why though is the biggest un-answered question. Only IMO: when Jodi was murdered the family couldn't bare to lose the oldest, first born, the only son so they protected him. There is also the 'blame' game. If Joe killed Jodi, who was responsible for Joe and his mental health? Who blamed themselves for him being so messed up at a young age? Whoever made or contributed to his mental health was indirectly responsible for his behaviour. I've also thought that the killer of Jodi was not of sound mind, and would have got diminished responsibility in court as he wasn't in control of his actions as it was frenzied

The witness noticed the bulge in a pocket of the jacket. That had to be something substantial in the pocket to stand out in a jacket that was big & bulky for that twerp.
Lean nor now Forbes, have Ever spoke about the contusion on Jodi's brain & it was substantial. They don't want Anyone to know that Jodi was knocked out cold. The bruising & abrasions were all to her head, neck & face areas Only, being punched & kicked when she was on the Ground. Their various BS stories saying that she was 'fighting for her life' are Not True.
He thought he was smarter than the cops & told his mother that after the initial police questioning that night. She stated that Publicly in her interview with James English. He was Not & neither was She. She who worked hard to cover it all up.
The crown put forth that he went back. In total he couldn't account for 3 hours. The police didn't know what time Jodi was attacked or died when speaking to him that night yet his false alibi was for that exact time frame of her death. What a Very telling Coincidence. Luke was Not home in that time frame of 5 to 5.30 & so, did not know if his brother was or not. Luke had left to meet Jodi before his brother got home from work. They reeled that poor lad into it the Next Day when the mother had sobered up. Their statements changed every time the cops went back to tell them info they found out, didn't match. They changed the alibi 3 times within the 1st week. Lean & Forbes have Never told that Fact.
Jodi's grandmother, her sister & boyfriend realised they'd repeated to the cops what Luke had Told Them about the actions of the dog & so they amended their statement about that detail, that was All. Now I see that Lean has a big banner & posters as her next hoodwinking ploy, "MIA FOUND HER". The dog did Not climb over & through the V in the wall & so into the woods, ONLY Luke DID. The second I heard about this I knew something wasn't right. The weird things people have said about him were completely off. I pray that Luke gets his name cleared and is freed. I've always believed he was innocent because i looked at read all of the evidence not just what the media pushed on us back then. I would love to write to Luke and i often think about this case and i just pray that we get a re trial and all evidence gets given and heard. It would be interesting to see now what the jury think about this case after reading all the evidence as im sure almost 100% of them would dsy Luke is innocent. How do they come up with approx time of 5.15 on this murder when she's found at 11 at night. Telling you they know something about that time. That's time moped meant to be seen. So surely that's who should be the prime suspects in this case. Anybody with a slight brain would know where to point finger. This is absolute shocking what's happened to Luke mitchell
5.15 was the only extremely narrow time frame they had to pinpoint it on luke as he was at home cooking dinner & was seen by others at the end of his street at 6pm after eating dinner some distance away from the crime scene. Bearing in mind, that 14yr old boy is what seems to be (according to the police & media) - the biggest criminal mastermind of the century, he's murdered her brutally elsewhere with a prolonged sustained attack (as that was the deposition site not the murder site) managed to get her there & dump her & leaving no forensics trace of him there (but managed to leave dna & forensics of others). Run back home in broad daylight on a summer day saturated in blood without anyone seeing him & without leaving a single trace of forensic in his home. Washed himself clean of any forensics but leave himself dirty enough that he was stripped & forensicly examined that night to be found dirty, grimey & unwashed body & hair (typical teen boy) got his mum to help burn everything & clean the house, eat his dinner & back out the end of his street 6pm when seen by people with friends waiting on jodi. So all that within a 45min window!! Forensic at scene/pathologists didn't even do liver mortis tests to establish accurate time of death. So the time of 5.15 is totally just a fit up to pin it on Luke. Stocky man was seen following her on the lead up to that time on the road, add that to Stocky man's family+pals moped being at the wall by 5.15 yet they got away with an explanation in court of they didn't know where the were & don't remember. Anyone with a fckng brain cell knows who's responsible & connected in this case including the police obviously. But yet still all went ahead framing an innocent young boy who's still locked up 19yrs later. It's a total abomination!
This brilliant. It's an eye opener in two respects to the Channel Five documentary. It's not clear from that show Scott's wider role in Luke's case. Recommended this to a number of people today. All was left with impression that Mister Forbes was pointing blame towards MK not who he actually thinks. It's slightly bad edited re this on C5 doc. Totally fascinating pod cast, I never thought he did it, and there’s no way he could brutally murder her with no dna evidence, there’s always transfer! I’m shocked this case is still not resolved, and sad that an innocent man is still in prison when the evidence of corruption, collusion, bullying and deceit is astounding! I’m outraged about the injustice! Scott I’d love to see you in court with the police handing their assses to them! I really hope Luke is exonerated. I’m off to read Scott’s book.

Don't know why really, maybe just extreme laziness - is also quite prevalent in through-care young men along with nonsensical extreme lack of hygiene. Within an hour of Jodi being found, Luke was the one and only suspect. Two days in, before police had traced the 2men at the locus at the time of murder, or spoken to Mark Kane, or traced who's condom it was, police were telling pals in media 'no other suspects', they weren't 'looking for anyone else'....
Luke Mitchell became the main suspect within the first few months, NOT within the first hour. Luke Mitchell's own actions and behaviour caused suspicion to fall on him, not least the amount of lies he told and the inconsistencies in his stories. Once the police began to investigate him, they knew his statements didn't add up. Suspicion did fall on him quite early on and remained there, and for good reason. Also, SK's clothes were taken by police in the early morning of 01.07.03 and, I believe, he was examined and questioned in the same way LM was. Also, SK's dad gave him an alibi for that day between 1600 - 2000 (he said SK and JANJ had dinner at his house and then watched some tv). More importantly, JanJ gave SK an alibi for that afternoon/evening. Janine and Jodi were quite close (even LM told police that Jodi borrowed clothes from Janine occasionally). Why would Janine, 17 at the time, give her boyfriend, 18 at the time, a false alibi if her own sister had been murdered by him? As I said, the Jones family were quite a close family, in spite of having a few problems as a result of their father's suicide in 1998. Also, Janine and SK split up not long after this trial ... she still alibis him in the present day. So, defo not SK who murdered that poor girl. It was scientifically proven that the sperm stain on the freshly laundered t-shirt Jodi had borrowed from Janine was the result of the sperm stain surviving the washing cycle.

Within 3/4 days police told press 'no other suspects', 'not looking for anyone else'. Within an hour LM was treated as a suspect when he was the only one striped, photographed and forensically examined!

JoeJ being seen leaving the house shortly after Jodi at 1700 and following her? (I've heard rumours that 'stocky man' was either SK or JoeJ, but the sighting was ruled out as mere speculation with no weight or corroboration behind it. If there was any credibility in this stocky man sighting, why didn't Donald Findlay mention it at the original trial?) I doubt very much that the SCCRC admitted what you are saying. Perhaps you have misconstrued what they have said? But let's just hypothetically say that the SCCRC accepted JoeJ being seen following Jodi was the last positive sighting of Jodi . . . it obviously had no bearing on the case, since they refused to refer it to the court of appeal. The SCCRC reviewed the case over a period of 2 years and concluded that Luke Mitchell had not suffered a miscarriage of justice. They acknowledged that his human rights were breached when police questioned him without a lawyer only a couple of hours after Jodi's body was found (the police's counterargument was that Luke didn't become a suspect until 2 days after the murder).

It's 100% Luke was set up.. its just a matter of how soon the police were involved in the case. Researchers have outed the police and the Jones Family. Procured witnesses Andrina Bryson. And 3 witnesses incorrect sighting were forced on to the jury by the judge. Who was also corrupted.

It would’ve been too far to be the case of Jodi being murdered at the garages. She’s been murdered in the woods where she was found most likely but not where she was found. There were traces of dog hairs on Jodi which were consistent with her being carried by someone with dog hair on them that was transferred. It couldn’t have have been transferred via a dog going to her body where it was found as Dickie Snr claimed his dogs never found the body. That said, the dog hair found on Jodi’s body should’ve been tested at the time as if they corroborated with any of Dickie Snr’s dogs, that would incriminate him. So many points in this case were simple but effective evidence and were ignored.
