    Players complain about average joe's not knowing football? Tony Romo is the solution to that. He can at least provide some insight to what us average joes are looking at. Personally, I have very little football knowledge, so a lot of these line formations make no sense to me

    Not only does romo have film. He also has a cbs pass which allows him on the practice field with the teams. So he sees some of the game plan up close

    A big part Cam left out is all broadcasters meet with the teams during the week. They get little nuggets from production meetings and watching practice.

    Any well informed, real football fan already knows what "type" of play is going to happen based on numbers, formation, safety position, etc. Sh*t to me it should be common knowledge by now lol.

      This comment right here as a coach of albeit a lower level of football you have it 100% right, you pick up tendencies and wrinkles if you truly watch film (all 22 preferably)

But in Cams defense and he said it too, he never had a fair shot after leaving Carolina the first time but end of the day it’s a business and not everyone is gonna get Brock Purdy type of luck

    It's always better listening to former players call the games because you get to see and understand the game from actual perspective of the play caller.. that's why i liked LeBron James and JJ Reddick podcast so much because you get that insiders look and pov from a players actual perspective.... keep doing you Tony

    I actually enjoy Romo adding insight that we just don't see in live broadcasting ever, fans who are willing to pay a little bit more for NFL+ can get All-22 footage and you will start to pick up patterns and tendencies if you pay attention

    Tony had the sports world on fire when he debuted and was able to predict the plays... I can do this with defensive schemes, and running games. It's a great thing when it's done because it draws a clear line between all the people who think they know the sport, but can't point out simple things.

    If you actually watch sports hes calling out the plays that we also see should be coming or ran. Hes just saying it out loud. So if they miss it its a highlight or if they do run that play then it shows that the QB is making the right decision.

    12 to 20 million people watch probably watch a football game on average... it's safe to say that about 95 % of them don't know football.. the booth needs a Tony Romo.. just like in wresting you have a color commentator and then you have the play by play guy.. it's a reason for that.. because you always have to keep those who don't know, in the know
