Awesome. I wish I had the time, skills, and materials to do this. Whenever I take the time to evaluate the design features of the Togo chair, I better understand why it's a design ahead of its time. Michel Ducaroy really knew that he was challenging paradigms with these models. I have one from Manhattan Home Design and really enjoy using it. Thank you very much for the tutorial!
Yes, it's really amazing, considering the year he was born. The purpose of our video is to show how to make this chair yourself without being a professional. It may be inferior in quality to the original, but it is just as comfortable to use!

Very professionally done! The front CORNERS of the cover should have followed the foam shape and should have pointed UPWARDS. The only detail which immediately shows, „It‘s not the original one“. Great job, though! 👍

Do you have more info about the pattern to cut the foam? The base foam is 45kg/m3 right? Thank you for your help and for the inspiration.. 🙏🙏
Thank you! The templates are available for download. Recycled foam was used for the base. Its density is not known because it is made from leftover foam of different densities. The top layer of highly elastic foam has a density of 45 kg/m.

You can use any foam, at least recycled foam, foam from an old mattress, or any other foam available. We used recycled foam because it was cheaper.

Thank you for your review! The glue we use is wellbond w-18. And a regular paint gun from a construction store.

It is a secondary foam with variable density. But any foam will do for the frame.

Would you recommend rebond foam as baselayer? Are there any better or cheaper options?
We used reuse foam for the main layer. It holds up very well and is the cheapest type of foam.

The foam was bought from suppliers of materials for the production of upholstered furniture. The dimensions were taken from the official website.

We can't tell you the foam brands or suppliers, but any flexible polyurethane foam will work for this chair.

how dense should the foam be?
We use foams of different stiffnesses. The first layer is stiffer, then softer and more elastic. The foam brands we use are: EL2240, HR4525, HR3020.
HR foams are highly elastic.

Recycled foam is made from waste products without regard to density or other characteristics. But for this chair it seems to me that the frame should be made of rigid foam, and the upper comfort layer is soft and dense.

This looks amazing! im wondering if there is a reason you didnt add extra "Triangle" shaped foam layers, on top of the base layer, in the middle (like you did on either side) as they do in the official chair. There's a three-seater sofa in the video, that's why the dividers are made. We have a single seat so we don't need a divider.

Is it possible to know the measurements of the fabric used for the one seater just for reference?

@@comodesignru yes that's what I'm planning to do this summer, it wasn't hard to calculate the amount of foam for a three seater using your layout that I purchased but I'm finding it really hard to calculate the amount of fabric needed. So if you have any information to share, I would really appreciate it!

Yes. The original chair is made up of foam. And it costs about $3,000. But when you buy an original chair, you join the world of luxury. It's just like Nike sneakers in collaboration with a popular rapper can cost several thousand dollars.
Well, seing the manufacturing of this cheap copy feels like an insult to all the people working hard to make the original models to me. It is absolutely not how it's done and well, the final result ain't close to the real one .... Good try
