I must have watched this dozens of times and it never fails to bring me joy. What a sui generis talent he is--the great gift of the greatest comic performers is the sheer joy they bring. It's a God given gift, though Steve, being an atheist, might disagree.
An absolute comic genius and a genuinely nice man. For me, Alan Partridge remains one of TV's greatest characters and I'm Alan Partridge is a fabulous series. His energy is marvellous and his sense of comic timing is brilliant. Keep up the great work Mr Coogan ❤ 😊
Such a pro Parkinson. Notice the way he keeps talking when Coogan takes a drink of water. Brilliant interviewer in his day for judging rhythm and tone.
I was watching Steve Coogan this weekend and thinking that he'd be pretty damn perfect as the next Doctor Who. He has the right look and everything - plus, I think he's charismatic enough to take the role after Tennant.
@Flowerblood The point is the BBC aren't supposed to have advertisments, he wasn't complaining about adverts on youtube in general. And Parky was on both ITV and BBC.
I've just seen him for the first time ever on Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm and he's fantastic! You must check it out. The episode is called "The Therapist" and he is absolutely brilliant!!
of course I know the story behind the poppys. I'm a huge fan of the poppy, in fact I'm wearing my recently purchased poppy now at my desk......with pride. Poppys Rock!!
actually I'm not a Yank pal. I'm british....very british. I'm sat wearing my poppy now, I understnad what it means and why we should be so thankful to those who died for us!! So does our friend Steve Coogan.
Yeah sorry, I knew that but I was thinking of Partridge as an example when I was writing it, and so I accidently wrote that instead. Good observation for pointing it out though, :-p Dan
He said 'How many good british films have there been in the last 50 years?' He also pointed out that there are some great british films, including this is england being film of the year. p.s. ghost town is as good as shaun of the dead or hot fuzz...all funny, flawed films.
I heard hom on desert island discs - he told exactly the same anecdotes, in the same words. It must be weird to have boiled your life down into a half dozen snappy soundbites.
@goldensloth7 No, he's on ITV now but used to be on the BBC, as we know. I just thought Parkinson had always been on ITV but somebody corrected me earlier in this thread. Keep up!
He tells the story so well.
Love Coogan.

sean lock also worked with a big scary laborer with a sense of humor called mick (on his room 101).
that would be excellent if it was the same one.
Plus, the license fee we pay only covers live material... Then again, it's not like there's no adblock.
Are these adverts by the BBC or by RUclips?...
Never got adverts on Radio Norfolk
oh yes it is!
are the bbc allowed to use adverts on people in the uk watching RUclips bbc content?
as long as he doesn't mind me talking!
ever since google took over we've had to put up with adverts at the beginning of the videos and it's bloody annoying
they are, look at the clip of Reginald D Hunter on Have I Got News For You, He doesn't know why they put one on him
Yeah sorry, I knew that but I was thinking of Partridge as an example when I was writing it, and so I accidently wrote that instead. Good observation for pointing it out though, :-p
