you're telling me they can implement any knowledge and they forgot to teach him how to use the 3 seashells?!
@wespozo And for a reason. All the evidence pointed out that he was a mass murderer. My sister once asked that why they believed Phoenix over Spartan? And I answered: they didn't. All they saw was the results. Spartan went after Phoenix without authorization (or so I remember) and as a result whole lot of people died because of it. Also Spartan has extremely lenghty record of disregarding collateral damage, so it wouldn't be that far fetched that his hate boner got the best of him.
Phoenix later said that the hostages were already dead and he killed them so that he could take Spartan with him to prison, but back then there was no way to tell. I assume Phoenix was smart enough not to shoot them or kill them in anyway that would make it clear they weren't killed in an explosion.
@@Ruosteinenknight ok. The 1990's were not the 1790's. Coroners exist for a reason and the causation of death is a pretty routine and procedura thing for the last century and a half. Don't be so positive and invent convoluted reasons why the writers and directors of a movie drive a plot. Just understand that it's a movie. It speaks nothing to the reality of identifying COD or the realities of the justice system. And certainly not in the least on how to wipe your ass in the future. The three shells were just another Macguffin and deliberately left unexplained.
@@mattmarzula You must be fun at parties.
I wonder if Simon Phoenix knows The Deal of the Three Seashells?
@@Ruosteinenknight it was shown in the beginning of the movie how Simon trapped Spartan with the dead hostages. And later on his old friend who is still a police officer in 2032 explained to the future cops how Spartan's behaviour always caused a lot of collateral damage
Sandra Bullock was so cute back then.
too bad shes a man.
Still is
Ryan Jones wtf??
It means she is a lumberjack like her dear pappa.
What do mean "was" ?
I love the look Sandra Bullock has in this movie, she looks so good in that cop uniform.
Shes always so pretty ❤
Sandra Bullock was so sweet here, such a great presence. No wonder she became such a big star.
This is actually a really clever scene- what seems like a gag is actually used as a method to move the plot forward as it gets Spartan to realize that Phoenix’s new skills must come from his training. It’s subtle, and I wish more movies would do this kinda thing today
JOHN SPARTAN: "I'll be subtle."
I noticed that too, his sewing skills are presented like a world building element or joke, but is actually setting up an important level of the investigation
bro really said "I'm a seamstress? 😳 " 💀IM DEAD 😂
Yep, it’s a maxim of storytelling “Show don’t tell”, combined with filmmaking “A scene should always be doing at least two things at once”
Really clever and well made movies can do both of those
The movie that put Sandra Bullock in my dreams.
Man who are you telling. I dont know but her sex appeal was off the charts in this movie.
@@retiredsnowbunnyhunterx5106 I failed no nut November watching this clip.
Google Ms congeniality and blue dress. You're welcome.
I hear that man. She was hot in this.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The way she says, "For me?" and "Thank you for the lovely gift." 😍
she actually appreciated a sweater :)
Dude my thoughts exactly, I'm in love
Sandra Bullock was absolutely adorable in this movie. 🥰
Sandra Bullock is GORGEOUS IN THIS FILM !!! 😩
no she's hot af!
@Leonardo Di Kennedy lol what's the diff between handsome and hot and beautiful and hot? Lol
This was her first big budget movie that she co-starred in
No it's just that she smiles, acts cute, funny, and feminine, which is very different from today's movies where female characters are always portrayed as unpleasant badasses and smartasses who always are better than all the men
If Judge Dredd was "nicer" haha
But the system was equally fascist in a different way.
Yes...and if, you know, it was also actually a good movie :)
(I'm still waiting for that Dredd series...)
Stallone's delivery of that line is perfect "So i'm a seamstress, oh that's just great."
Simon Phoenix Rehab Program:
✔️ Martial arts
✔️ Marksmanship
✔️ Combat prowess
John Spartan Rehab Program:
👌🏻 Seamstress
Seamstress or to quote John Spartan - "Betsy Fucking Ross";).
And a picture of Cocteau wearing the douche-cap to complete the meme...
Reason being is because cocteau needed a living weapon to get Edgar Friendly out of the picture.
He's @white MALE @2020 (*it goes w/o saying really)
FocusFanatic And why is being a seamstress bad? Isn’t it a necessary skill?
You know how much money the clothing industry makes?
In developing countries, being a seamstress or a tailor helps promote financial independence and creates small businesses. I thought conservatives were all about financial independence and small businesses?
„Access denied“
*presses one button
„Security overrite. Access granted.“
XD
Probably reads her chip implant before she presses the button
@@SaulidSnake thats a good point
Probably would be rude to demand more access
The security override was what was locking her out. Someone gave her access at the last moment.
She typed sudo this time
I loved this movie and watched it like 100x when I was about 8 9 years old. Thought it was so cool. Then as an adult, realizing that this is a truly great movie.
You are a liar. Nobody watches a movie 100 times in such a short span of time. Very daft.
One of the best 90's movies in my opinion.
Actually, I recall reading that knitting was taught to injured soldiers in WWII to help them ease their mind, as psychological support.
Also, surprisingly there's plenty of men who used to knit in history, even among people of high social status.
He'd be a tailor because he can create a garment from scratch, a seamstress modifies already made garments; if you go by the traditional definition. Now the words are more or less interchangeable
No.
No.
I own a sewing shop specializing in outdoor gear repair and I am considered a seamster not a seamstress.
I was thinking tailor sounded more masculine too. He also knits?
Nerd
Back when I watched this movie in 93, I never expected to live in it a few decades later.
I wonder if by '32 spicy food and pregnancy will be illegal, and Alexa will fine you for swearing...
...naaah, probably far sooner than that 😕
Love Otis Hickory if you’re right, then I don’t think spicy food would be illegal by 2032. Taco Bell may have something to say about that.
@Krystal Giove Well, the self-driving cars are sort of a thing, Schwarzenegger became a political figure and eating healthy and vegetarianism is being pushed.
and live in the sewer
It's scary. This film is truly prophetic!
"Its wrude."
This movie is a CLASSIC.
Sylvester Stallone is a seamstress. That part always made me laugh. This is the guy who likes to blow stuff up and gun down a bunch of bad guys, and now suddenly he's a seamstress. Well, I guess that's better than seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger being turned into an abominable snowman in a weird suit with 90% of his lines being about ice.
Sandra Bullocks finest performance. She almost steals every scene she is in. 💗
Sandra Bullock was in the pinnacle of her beauty she made this film.
Sandra Bullock has never looked better than in this film. Damn, she is breathtaking, and the films an absolute hoot, so enjoyable it's crazy.
Omg Sandra is a goddess, but seriously back in day omg
I like how one of his eye brows are raised at all times
Sandra Bullock was always a brilliant comedic performer
First time I saw Sandra Bullock. I was blown away, to say the least. How can anyone be this smashing?
Love Sandra in this brought her back to good old days.
2032 is only almost 12 years from now
Scary isn't it?
Not really
Keep your guns
Protect yourself from the right wing alt right white supremacists fascists!
arnie aint president...yet.
This movie is just a blast.
Torture Methodology. When you need to find out who ate all the Cheeto's and you can't find the black light.
Last line should have been, I’ll weave him a story.
Or “tell him a yarn”.
The car design for this movie was really on point for the future.
falcon wing doors and all
Those are General Motors Ultralite cars
she was SOOO CUTE !
Simon phoenix best rehab program..is like upgrade your F16 block 10 to block 25 🤣
more like block 70
@@alfisyahr wow..... That way to much men
@@mactavish2401 Maybe. But fair. Because he has a rehab program of future super terrorist.
@@alfisyahr yeah agree. Demo, assasin, firearm, martial art, sabotage, kidnapping, hacking... All in super terrorist dream 🤣
Nah more like P51 Mustang to F18 Super Hornet
"Can you give me Phoenix's rehab program now?" 😂🤣😂
Love the "air bag" scene. Wesley Snipes was legendary in this movie as well. Third best Stallone movie in my opinion, after Rambo and Rocky.
Is anyone gonna talk about how easy it was for Bullock to override an Access Denied file?
A computer geek? She literally played one in "The Net", made a few years later.
lol I always loved that. "Aw come on, let me see it!" Computer: "okay!"
sandra bullock sure was a cutie back in the day
“Subtle”
What little I know of this movie I do know this:
That is a lie.
I think he means subtle for him, and from what I remember he was fairly subtle relatively speaking.
She's so HOTTTT
In a more benevolent sense, thisd be pretty cool. I’d love learning something over time in my sleep. A new language, how to cook new things, something productive.
He hit it in real life. Probably during the whole movie.
Stallone woke up in that WOKE world
The language box dropped the ball on that f bomb by Spartan.
Lol i dont know why i was thinking the word seamtress the other day now i remember hearing it from this movie.
His definition of being nice is "Im Dredd, I AM THE LAW" tell me what I want to know or ill turn ya office into a warzone
Stallone's best work.
For me definitely underrated.... in my top ten and one film that doesn’t get put on uk tv as much as other things
Spoiler alert: He wasn't very subtle at all.
But he was good at knitting.
This was such a great and funny movie, wish they had made it a series or something.
Love Sandra Bullock.
Sandra 😍
Its hard to believe Sandra Bullock was 29 in this movie
I remember thinking she would never look better than this when it first came out
Love this movie
They should have done a sequel with Spartan taking on various seamstress and tailoring competitions. With explosions, of course.
Movie land 2032: they have cars that protect you completely, stun wands and energy rifles.
Real world 2032: a new dog food recipe, mascara that “won’t run EVER,” and the ability to order Taco Bell.
I love this film x x x
Aww, he knit her a sweater, that is so sweet! 😍
Can he clean house and cook too?
"Here I made this for you" Hahahaha!
I see they were driving Teslas back then... Nice!
Man movies in the realm of this genre pale in comparison to this film. A film that was definitely ahead of it's time and is timeless!
Sandra is so stunning
so cool man
Oh 90's Sandra Bullock. You warm my cockles even to this day.
Good rule of citizen ship. When corruption is in the air it’s the citizen’s duty to challenge their leaders to keep them honest.
Sandra was such a cutie.
Amazing how phoenix gets everything handed to him by those in power, just like with today's people in power. And questioning it would be rude, or in other words politically incorrect, which is why people in power get away with their crimes and the injustice never gets addressed.
But Phoenix was just a pawn used to get what the Evil Dr. wanted tho.
HalfCracker4life the evil doctor didn’t think it all the way through.
@@TheSjuris Yep.
Nov. 25, 2019---Thanks for the video clip, but wonder what happened to all the vehicles & other props used in this movie?
Shelved. It makes more sense for us auto makers to profit then help the better of man kind
Most were based off of GM concept cars. A lot of films set in the future use or recreate concept cars to portray the future. Obviously they change the perceived means of propulsion (gas to electric, on road to flying, ect).
you know what that computer ranting reminds me of? the intro to deadshot in suicide squad. lethal with pistol, assault rifle, smg, shotgun, missile launcher, list goes on yadda yadda lmao
The squad car in this movie reminds me of the BMW i8 of today.
0:06 love those knee high boots.. they should made every cops wear knee high boots in reality LOL
God Sandra Bullock was gorgeous.
Well, Simon Phoenix had his free upgrades.
I love sandra bullock here, she is so sweet and beautiful
Futuristic
Goodness!! Is there a cuter American actress than Sandra Bullock in this movie?
One of the best documtery films.
I would love to have Sandra Bullock in my life
2:27 THAT my dear, is a million dollars question.
Of all the things that could(and have sort of) come true from demolition man.. having a grateful woman in 2032 is just too unbelievable
I'm STILL in love with her! ;)
I SURE WISH SANDRA COULD KEEP UP ..LOL😂😝🤭
2:00 As a kid this scene thought me how to write up an impressive resume ;D
Man I never caught that part of the story when I last watched this movie, years ago.
Stallone had this conversation with himself about every Arnold movie that became a bigger blockbuster than his..
is creppy with the current culture how this movie predicated it
Indeed. Up top is a world run by Tumblr and down below is run by 4Chan
All restaurants haven't become Taco Bell yet, but Arnold would make a better president than the one we got
@@ArgonTheAware Based on how he governed California no fucking way. You TDS morons just love spewing nonsensical shit.
@@tacticalcrusader3709 I'm gonna bet Arnold would never have said windmills cause cancer.
@@Cynthia_Cantrell No he just bankrupted the state and instituted horrible policies that damaged the California economy beyond repair. Btw research some negative health defects from wind turbines. Trump wasn't as far off as you think.
Sandra Bullock was so hot back then, and still is.
it's quiet af, should work on the volume.
She has some fine features.
He was sooo gorgeous
Yo, Nanny Fran looks TIGHT!
This looks current
Let’s be honest Wesley Snipes was so good in this you kinda wanted him to win
That's the mark of a good villain. The Hans Gruber Factor.
She is so radiant
Sandra is such a cutie!
What looks like a continuity error - at 0:54 she actually seems to be wearing the red pullover he knitted for her. A few seconds later she is merely holding it.
0:22 - oh NAO you wanna kiss him. After the gift
