I like this live version even more than the studio version. The female backing vocals make it for me
The studio version has female vocals in it too. There are 3 females in the band and they all sing.
they definitely stand out more without the studio/layered falsettos though.
There may be some female vocals in the studio version, but they’re not loud enough. Papa’s vocals sound amazing when they’re layered but there’s still too much testosterone in there sometimes. With the addition of female backup singers, Ghost has been elevated to another dimension. They can do all of the heavy lifting for him on stage, he gets to protect his voice, and he gets to hit notes with Ghost that he would never be able to hit on his own. Those ladies better be very well compensated.
(And I’m sure they are. Forge is a professional and he learned that lesson the hard way)

When I first heard this album I wasn’t sure I was really feeling it. It felt foreign coming from them, definitely wasn’t what I was expecting but it’s grown on me so much the last couple of days. I absolutely love this song

I'm 45 and have been into ghost for a good 6-7 years and I have never had a connection with a music stronger than this band (Tobias). They are actually are very ANTI SATANIC which is hilarious because most haters and maybe 2/3 of their own fan base may be under that impression. Alot of it is mocking Roman catholicism, masons (pinnacle to the pit video) and so much more. Slayer isn't satanic either, they're just telling you what's really going on 😳. Anyways Ghost is fn amazing. They're coming to providence September 12 which is my wifes birthday so I just couldn't do that 😔

He's not real, but he stands for everything I try to stand for like independence, rebellion, wisdom, conviction, etc. He is a symbol of Man. He was made in our image. Great performance. Different mix than the other live versions I've seen. Just wish Papa didn't go down to a lower note on "ride" like on the album. He keeps the note higher in more recent love performances. So much more effective
