Totally right! I've been listening these last two years a lot of Midge Ure and Ultravox, it's great! It's so cool to keep discovering awesome "new" songs of the past.
During 1980 and 1981 and in to 1982, there was an underground pulse in the country if you were of the right age to feel it. It was like something primevil waking up and stirring people. I wasn't quite old enough to fully appreciate how good the 1980s were. Being a kid around that time was good but if I was a bit older and old enough to go clubbing and pubbing and buying records it would have been so much better.
Agree but this direction of the band started out with the last album named System of Romance which was recorded with their previous vocalist. I too used to think that U.vox was equated to Midge Ure but after hearing that album I changed my mind a bit.
it was different ages, second half of the 70th and 1st half of 80th... they had a well shaped project of 3 albums with john foxx, produced by brian eno at their beginning then changing their path when entering midge ure. you can understand we have sort of 2 different bands
@@XanAxDdu The core stayed the same. It wasn't simply about changing vocalists, everyone contributed. That's why there's a continuity as well as innovation.
@@ВладимирКруглов-к9о for sure we have a band into crossing the years and producing sort of avantgarde pop rock made by punk electronic something coming as from krautrock then hard rock and celtic folk beat so for sure they always tried to maintain an identity while making innovation for me the best band of that age remains the police the most creative and for me also till today so out of range. other strong bands from late 70 and early 80 have been japan and david sylvian, talk talk, tears for fears and depeche mode. though also simple minds and u2 .... everything but the girl and level 42 were also very performative

Lots of synthetic but the drums are all manual. Warren Cann was on point on every Ultravox track he played on. Superb.
Masterpiece!Such a timeless cool about the vocals, lyrics and video.Has aged way better than most stuff from that decade, sounds downright contemporary!
Ultravox is that rare band where the verses are every bit as catchy as the choruses, like in this one, "MIne For Life"; "Hymn" and "One Small Step".
The voice of conscience, among other things.

One Small Day is my favourite.
Been a fan since “Slow Motion” was gutted when John Foxx left.
However I think Midge is fantastic with quite an aggressive vocal style and a nice guy to boot.
I LOVE this band saw them in Toronto 1982 was mind-blowingly good so powerful and mystical ! Something deffo going on in this video, I wonder who the 'light' was...? My Dad met Midge as he came to the Air Canada cargo dept to sign for their gear and never got an autograph for me damn it!
Outstanding and outstanding album!
From their finest LP.
Absolutely superb, another classic from Ultravox!!!!! Love it!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My all time Fav Ultravox song. Love the intro! Especially love the bridge release @ 2:59 ~
Also a beautiful transition @ 1:24 that's about the same epic'ness...
I wasn't quite old enough to fully appreciate how good the 1980s were. Being a kid around that time was good but if I was a bit older and old enough to go clubbing and pubbing and buying records it would have been so much better.
Impecable, e infravalorada, la mejor canción de Ultravox sin duda.
La mejor canción de quién??????
No no es la mejor hay otras dos tres buenas también
@@josecerezo1806 hay muchas otras buenas, pero esta es mi favorita.
This guy Midge Ure really MADE this band. Once he got in, they became a success.
Wow. !! 💓 Ultravox 💓 80s Midge Ure Nostalgia. X 16 09 2022 Maghull. Liverpool. England 🇬🇧 The Voice RESPRCT. DIGNITY.
Great Memories 'THANKYOU ❤💜💙
I still have the Vinyl Longplay Record "Rage in Eden" from 1981. It was the most played album in my first car in 1981.
Going to see Midge Ure in concert tonight. My chance to relive a bit of the eighties.
Perfect song 💥💥💥❣️❣️❣️
Love the dubble voice background his heavy voice and his voice amazing .Midge was the face of the 80's 🤩
