Thanks for reviewing this one, I have been super curious about it!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)
Great review - there are currently not many reviews of this excellent bag. I just got mine last week and am using it now while traveling. It's light, comfortable, well priced, and somewhat minimal compared to what I'm used to but it's forced me to pack smarter and I am really enjoying it.
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad you’re enjoying the bag, I was definitely impressed and hopefully more people have a chance to check it out!:)
Based on your review I decided that this is not the backpack for me. So thanks for the review, it helped a lot! 👍
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)
What made you not want it?
I own the original spire and also have a chance to check the 2.0 at the shop and found a lot of thinngs I don't like about it when compare with the original spire. But there are 3 things I like about it and I think they are a real upgrade to the spire. 1. is a front pocket with internal organization, 2. a quick access zipper for main compartment and 3. a water bottle holder. But the rest I feel like it was a downgrade.
A problem I have with mine is that front pocket you talk about at the 5 minute mark, its hard to open and close because of the stiff velcro band going across the front of the pocket. The internal edges of that band get in the way of the zipper and it is very hard to get it to move across those sections.
Yup. This is the one.
Just gotta figure out how to get it down here to the Philippines.
EDIT: Just ordered it! Was on sale on the Australian site :) 54usd
Doesn’t Timbuktu2 manufacture their bags in the Philippines?
This bag really reminds me of the Thule Subterra 25L pack. This Timbuk2 seems to have a much better water bottle holder though.
Thank you for watching! Definitely some similarities between the bags, I haven’t had a chance to try that one out but Thule bags are also generally really good!
Like the video and the bag my question is what is the carabiner u have attached to the bag? Thanks!
Thank you for watching! That is a medium size HeroClip
I think if it was Cordura, they'd have to mention it on their site and have that little Cordura tag on the bag as well. I always thought it was kinda weird that Timbuk2 doesn't list the materials their bags are made out of...
Thank you for watching and that’s a fair point! I definitely wish the materials were more clearly stated on the site.
Thanks for reviewing this! Would you consider checking out the rogue too? Seems really similar but a few differences
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! The rogue looks pretty good as well and if I can get my hands on one to test out I would be glad to do a video for it!:)
I prefer the old G-hook over the new buckle, it was cool and silent. Beside that, the 2.0 has some good improvements.
Thank you for watching and that’s a fair point I can definitely see the g hook being more silent and potentially more durable!
Hey dude love your content!
But which would you prefer? The herschel little America or this?
Thank you for watching and for the posture feedback! Both bags are pretty solid, personally I like the spires aesthetic a little more, the organizational layout, and also the buckle closure for the main compartment. It also seems like the materials would be a little more weather resistant on this one. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
@@dannypacks thanks a lot man! I actually ordered the spire 2.0 after much consideration mainly cuz of the compartments. Chucking the work phone, spare masks / sanitizers, chargers, cables was just hella messy and I wish herschel had more compartments / organised pockets
Oh and the spire 2.0 having that zipper to open up the main compartment further is so good cuz i finally don't have to dig thru deep like some treasure hunter!
Update: I got the spire after your recommendation and it's just amazing. I wish it was a bit more rigid (now feels a bit more saggy than the stiffness it used to have) but still a solid bag
also i got the heroclip and some nite ize carabiners and i just hang em at the front of the bag :D
After seeing how insanely high quality the interior organization pockets are on something like a CLC tool backpack, I can't take the organization pockets on many high end backpacks seriously. I mean the material is exactly like a $12 Walmart backpack, and of course it's awkward putting items in overlapping pockets when they're made completely flat.
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion on the CLC tool backpack, I hadn’t heard of that before!
I got the Curator and I found it to be too small and the straps were bad quality and very thin. I send it back and Im gonna exchange it. Im between Spire 2.0 and the Rogue 2.0. Which one would be a better fit for a tall guy (6'3)
Thank you for watching! I definitely understand the issues with the curator, I was not a fan of the straps. I haven’t tried the rogue 2.0 so I can’t say for sure, but between the two I would maybe lean towards the spire just because it has a few extra pockets and I like the side access to the laptop pocket. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Hello, great vid! Will this fit a basketball or soccer ball?
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Unfortunately the bag won’t be able to hold these as it is pretty slim. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Hey, great video! Would this backpack fit a 16inch laptop?
Thank you for watching and yes this should be able to fit a 16inch laptop assuming it’s not super bulky:)
Hope you get tropicals Shell to test.
Thank you for watching and would definitely be interested in testing that one out! :)
Hi may I know what's the velcro strap area is meant for?
Thank you for watching! The Velcro helps keep the top flap from moving from side to side and better secure it in addition to the strap :)
is it waterproof?
Thank you for watching! I would say this is water resistant but not waterproof so in a heavier rainstorm I would worry about water potentially seeping in especially since this doesn’t have a zipper top closure
