I had a very difficult Christmas this year! My brother passed away only a few weeks ago. This carol echoed in my soul. And I heard it again and again! The words carried me through the grief - I perhaps needed the carol more than I thought. 😭
My favorite Christmas Carol... Thank You John Romeri for commissioning this lovely work and THANK YOU dear Mr Rutter for writing this choral treasure for us!
This song popped into my head randomly I remember singing in one year of high school (at this time I’m still in high school but I think I sang it freshman or sophomore year and I’m a senior this year.)
@@Sagelystables8272 Oh okay, cool. I was wondering because the highschool I go to, Heritage Academy, sings the Candlelight Carol at every Christmas choir concert. It's a tradition there.
You are very good and this song is really beautiful! My choir sang it during one of our last performances. Part of the arrangment is original. Write this in the search. You're going to love it for sure! Corale Novarmonia - Candlelight Carol (J. Rutter)
In verse 3, how did the Mormons change the original lyrics to suit their theology, that Jesus Christ is not God? John Rutter wrote, "Godhead incarnate and hope of salvation: A Child with His mother that first Christmas Day."
We believe God is more of a shared title than just an identity. Jesus Christ is a member of the Godhead, but has a body as well as Heavenly Father. Along with the Holy Ghost, they are One in every imaginable way except physically. The tab choir actually used to sing Son of the Father.

This stunningly beautiful carol sung by the incomparable Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. Nothing in the world quite like 'em!
A not-sung-often-enough Christmas carol! Love it.
This deserves more play than it gets! So beautiful!
we sing this every year in my choir and i fall more in love with it each year
It is lovely song indeed.
Dear Mr@@jacobs8301.,

Does the highschool's name start with an H?
@@zelda1420 the high school I was at did not start with a H, i was at a school called Skyview.

Wonderful!
Amazing, congrats
Beautiful! Never heard this before with an orchestra. How many people in the choir? 250-300? Truly impressive. Thanks for uploading.
Yes. About 300.
Today membership in the choir is somewhere between 360-410. I know a person in the choir that had given me this information
Beautiful!
Amo la musica di Natale!
Very love this song ...
Grazie Anche! Ma Come Bella!
EXCELENCIA EM MUSICA.

John Rutter wrote, "Godhead incarnate and hope of salvation: A Child with His mother that first Christmas Day."
They use the words, "God everlasting". Where they believe Christ is a God and eternal, these words work beautifully. Hope this helps! :)

It touches my heart when listening to the performance, it's beautiful!
However, the English seems with the American accent rather than British.
