VirtualDJ is really the cleanest out of all of the dj softwares, and there's a way to get each stem separated as audio files after droping the track in the prepare folder and opening it as an mp4 in audacity. U can then get each of the 5 stems as 5 separate audio files.
I tested spleeter and demucs and compared it to SeratoDJ and VirtualDJ stems. I think Serato uses spleeter, they sound exactly the same. VirtualDJ seems like it uses demucs version 4.
Great video. I’ve been on this for a while using Algoriddim Neural Beats. A frustrating thing with Neural Beats is now they don’t allow stem splitting with streamed tracks from Tidal. This is a new update
About to go look at the article for fixing acapella beat grids...but another pro tip, if you have the option, match your acapella with the original song and beat grid off of that. But yeah again stinks if all you got is just that acapella version. I also need to find some free time to see if I can donate some code to UVR to add the ability to do a 10 second preview as you are tweaking settings between the different algorithms. (As well as better Batch Processing)
Nuo Stems is only advertised to work with the Traktor Kontrol S4 Mk3 because it has specific/ special effect buttons on the S4 . If the user has S2, or S3 you are out of luck because there isn't any mappy available. The only recourse users of S2 or S3 is to use Traktor Kontrol X1 in addition to your current controller.
Would it not be easier if the places were DJs buy their music (e.g. beatport) would also offer the stems for all tracks released from now on, so that the DJ can download them in high quality (as the stems can be delivered with original track), rather than everyone trying to split an already released track? It's like buying the ingredients rather than trying to decompose a meal into its atoms and molecules after the fact.
Mr. Phil. Thank you for the wonderful info, it sounds like a lot to take in with all that software I think I will just use my own MP3s when using stems. I have a question, sir, that I can't seem to get an answer from nowhere. What is the future of using djay controllers and software with Chromebook? I'd really like to know because I have a PC but I love using chrome as well. Thank you for all your information.
I noticed there was mention of issues reported with the FLX10. Is this specifically related to the stems function or is there a hardware issue/fault that is worth knowing about?
@@digitaldjtips Fantastic, thank you for getting back to me. I’m looking to upgrade from the FLX4, so I wanted to make sure there were no common reliability issues with the FLX10 before purchasing.
I have a 2012 MacBook: Upgraded to 1tb ssd, & 16gig of Memory. When I use stems my vocals & beats drop out some times. I’m using serato newest version 3.0 something. ??Any Tips or Advice.
You may need a modern processor (M1) has mentioned in the video to fully utilize stems with no issues.Otherwise it may be best to create the stems separately using one of the tools/sites mentioned.
More storage or memory isn’t going to help you. If you’re using a 12 year old cpu you’re gonna be having a bad time. The arm-based processors found with apple’s m1 line and newer seem to handle stems easily without heating your computer or consuming your battery power.
I'm surprised Engine DJ didn't take a leaf out of Serato's book and go down the route of doing offline STEMS. I have an old MacBook Pro so I use the STEMS crate option to create the STEMS offline. I only put the tracks that I'll really only use for bootlegs etc in this crate and that then saves me disk space. Engine DJ could have done this, and this would have meant good quality STEMS, even on standalone hardware.
I did a number of Dj courses from some really good tutors. I tried to compile house / disco sets for beat matching but there was nothing modern I liked or understood. DJ pro offers me the opportunity to do beatmatching and mixing freeform freestyle whatever Not cheating more being able to ahem mix different genres aka tunes i want to play for my use case not to usurp young good DJs making a living
Wondering if I should look into getting a refund for my Prime 4+ because I specifically bought it for the stems that was promised without needing a laptop! 😡
Izotope should admit defeat in proprietary stem isolation and use one of the open source models so native instruments producers and traktor DJs can catch up.
Stems have not made it to Tractor. By the time Native Instruments incorporates Stems like the "leading" software has already DJing will be done by robots and AI.
They were too ahead of their time and asking the industry too much in providing each of the studio-grade stem components. Traktor didn’t create new stems from a given music or video file, they required music labels to provide them.

True

I think Serato uses spleeter, they sound exactly the same. VirtualDJ seems like it uses demucs version 4.
In my personal experience, Rev 5 is best to control stems in serato dj pro.
Thanks for all the invaluable information you share
Thanks!

This is the same with Tidal in all services unfortunately.

You can always just tap your foot along to the lyric and tap in the bpm to the software
You can still map or use the keyboard with other controllers, the Traktor software can still handle them
Would it not be easier if the places were DJs buy their music (e.g. beatport) would also offer the stems for all tracks released from now on, so that the DJ can download them in high quality (as the stems can be delivered with original track), rather than everyone trying to split an already released track?
It's like buying the ingredients rather than trying to decompose a meal into its atoms and molecules after the fact.
Labels won't allow it, it was the basis of what Traktor tried to do a few years back.
Do you know if Pioneer DJ intends to integrate Stems into the Opus Quad in the future?
They won’t

You DJ is a good app that works on Chromebook, and has some integrations.
@@digitaldjtips thank you so much✌️

Just noticed a couple of people with niggles, but nothing common/major (ours is fine too)

Buy a new or used M1, M2 or M3 Mac

New Macbook

Yeah it definitely opens up DJing with a much wider choice of songs
🎉🎉🎉🎉
I just make the beginning of the phrase or whatever part the downbeat since it most likely is being used in a loop 😬

You can get them on the beta software already
@@digitaldjtips yeah but not good to use at an event because it might crash or delay track loading. Only good for at home studio. Hence "beta".
Izotope should admit defeat in proprietary stem isolation and use one of the open source models so native instruments producers and traktor DJs can catch up.
They do seem to have fallen behind a little
@@digitaldjtips haha, that’s being diplomatic.

We’ll see…
Stems in a Daw AI
Djay pro stems rule ! Works perfect with Reloop Mixon 8 pro. Look no further.
Wasn’t Native Instruments or Traktor the original stems software then they just kinda pretend they never existed

Why yall don't give VDJ respect as a good dj Program... like it's only good for home .
Who said that?
