It's off a software disk that came with a guitar magazine waaaaay back in the day. I used to be the owner. It had a bunch of tabs you had to look at while he played.
The difference is; Slash plays the same solo in everysong, both live and studio. Buckethead will give you a different solo in every concert, and in every song.
OOOOOOH!!!!. Well, no wonder what I'm playing doesn't sound right, I wasn't rubbing the wall FIRST. See, this is why we have these lessons. I would have never figured that out on my own.
This is a DVD that came with the guitar magazine it was in, which had tabs for all the figures. Those tabs can be found on the internet =) I can't remember where though
@@Cephlapodninja possible, you just don't think about singular notes but about sequences, that's what any shredder does, do you really think they think about every note they play? They think more so about phrases than singular notes.
Love Buckethead. It's awesome how he's one of the very few guitarists who knows how to correctly use a killswitch to make whatever he's playing sound amazing.
seen him end a show, walk off stage with his guitar still over his shoulder, tried to catch him at the outside exit and he was already getting into side door of the van and sat down in it still playing...
World's Okay-est Guitarist hahaha i was thinking the same thing, but i think deeper and i shoud not give up because buckethead will be my motivation not my discouragement
I remember I had this saved on my TV like ten years ago, and I showed my Dad who’s a jazz guitarist. I kid you not I remember him looking with the most serious face at it that was like; “wtf is actually happening.”
Actually, the lesson it's transcribed from text to playing. The video it's part of the lesson, but the written exercises are the map to nail the lesson.
When you realise that the man was playing different parts of "Jordan" and "Botnus", and at scales contrary to the ones on their original songs. What a lovely edit.
+Danilo Santos Oh mano, valeu!!! KKKKKKK Acho que estava ou com sono ou meio travado quando comentei... rsrs Apesar que só o conheço "virtualmente", mesmo..., então..., tá valendo!... KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Abração!!!
Same here. I saw this vid a few months after I had just started playing. It made me want to quit. Luckily I stuck with it. Still, 5 years later I still see this and want to just say fuck it.
two things. this video leads me to believe that buckethead is really funny and has a good sense of humor, and is therefore probably a very happy person. which makes me very happy, also, the fucking end made me herp all over my derp.
I love the second one so much. Chromatic runs with octave displacement; it's like two whole tone scales a half-step apart colliding. I keep wishing I could do hybrid picking like that... perhaps it's time to start? Rome wasn't built in a day, they say, but Buckethead can shred out the six-string blueprints in an hour.
Dude, the video was uploaded over 11 years ago, before RUclips implemented any video quality over 240p. Of COURSE it's going to be shit quality compared to the HD videos that you're able to upload these days, lol

Lucas Sousa figure 2 is effect spider in Do, si eres español es el efecto araña en Do creo pero por lo que veo unos dicen que esta en octava saludos desde México year old 15 😉
it might seem intimidating at first :D but its really not that hard, ive been studying buckethead for months and the 3 and 4 finger tapping isnt that hard :D just keep practicing 1 hour each day you will catch on
I am training it for 2 weeks and i can handle the 6 finger nupping but this 8 finger nupping is extrimly hard. Sry for my englisch. Im 13 and im practising 1 hour per day. Its not that hard
No one else on this planet comes close ,this style is so unique and almost impossible to follow,, shred king indeed and musical beyond belief is Buckethead!
The awesome thing about Buckethead is that when he wants feeling he plays it. When he wants Buckety-goodness he also plays it. Then he plays a mix of the two I explode.
my mind is at peace right now finally . . ^_^ * a sigh o relief* ... now am absolutely convinced that theres no point playing further . . n your the reason why !!
If you're beginning to play guitar, NEVER WATCH THIS VIDEO!
:\ I had to read the comments first
i saw him play live a few nights ago...........it made me want to apologize to every guitar that i ever touched,
It's off a software disk that came with a guitar magazine waaaaay back in the day. I used to be the owner. It had a bunch of tabs you had to look at while he played.
SludgeStyle until you have 10 years of practice lol
I’m a advanced, I mean extremely advanced!! But cool video
hold my beer. nevermind give it back
Kiss Myass lol!!
once i watched the very end, i understood why you wanted your beer back lol
😆😆😆😆
can i have a sip?
Got it.
+cruhg LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
cruhg 😂
hahaha
Hahaha
cruhg well your pfp is from a Nintendo game which is pretty much his guitar noises, so you must have.
Can this guy be consider one of the best guitarist in history?
only one to compare him to and thats Mr. Robert Fripp
Buckethead is the ultimate pinnacle of guitar playing - I don't think his ability will ever be surpassed - you can't get any better
Not exactly about skill or technique, listen to his +280 albums and you might get it!
his far more superior than slash... its just slash is just more famous
The difference is;
Slash plays the same solo in everysong, both live and studio. Buckethead will give you a different solo in every concert, and in every song.
The most amazing thing about this is that he can use all this stuff in songs and make it sound extremely good and soulfull
OOOOOOH!!!!. Well, no wonder what I'm playing doesn't sound right, I wasn't rubbing the wall FIRST. See, this is why we have these lessons. I would have never figured that out on my own.
Getting the little bit of oil/perspiration off his hands ;)
I haven't been scraping the wall with my fingers enough, I just realized!
🤣
And what you just watched kids, is the closest mankind has come to understanding the concept of infinity.
That thing at the end is some of the sickest guitar playing I have ever seen in my life.
i'm a beginner, been playing about 6 months, and this lesson was very helpful. thanks buckethead.
yo! how is your 12+ years of experience going? are u pro now?
Wondering the same 😂
love you. you faceless monster. you are a true artist. i adore every single note you give to us.
This isn't a lesson but it's fantastic.
This is a DVD that came with the guitar magazine it was in, which had tabs for all the figures. Those tabs can be found on the internet =) I can't remember where though
maikkeli Yeah since my comment I saw the full video
his fingers are faster than my brain function!
Its muscle memory man
@@dovydas4483I can't believe muscles are faster then the brain

Love Buckethead. It's awesome how he's one of the very few guitarists who knows how to correctly use a killswitch to make whatever he's playing sound amazing.
I've only learned that, if I want to be like him, I'll have to practice a lot...
you need a kfc bucket and a yellow jacket
seen him end a show, walk off stage with his guitar still over his shoulder, tried to catch him at the outside exit and he was already getting into side door of the van and sat down in it still playing...
Just equip your nightmares with a guitar. It's that simple.
I quit. Selling my guitar tomorrow. I'm DONE.
World's Okay-est Guitarist hahaha i was thinking the same thing, but i think deeper and i shoud not give up because buckethead will be my motivation not my discouragement
🤣😂😝⚡️
exactly
I remember I had this saved on my TV like ten years ago, and I showed my Dad who’s a jazz guitarist. I kid you not I remember him looking with the most serious face at it that was like; “wtf is actually happening.”
I cant believe what I just saw. He is truly blessed.
this isnt a lesson. its more of a, "try and keep up. goodluck."
All of his songs are beautiful, how could one say he lacks emotion
Just the way he acts makes me love him, but one song can speak for itself. Truly one of the best guitar players I know.
Lesson learned: any attemp to play like buckethead will cause your fingers to break.
Ahhhh my pinkie hurts 😂
1:30 music goes so far it sounds like an Atari game
Amin Ef lol.
Alright play that agin, but 200x slower so i can learn the lesson
well Ive learned nothing
The lesson you've learned is you can't play this amazing shit.
Jeremy Zizzi lol. true
Jeremy Zizzi lol, ur right
apollo11bb 1st is augmented
Actually, the lesson it's transcribed from text to playing. The video it's part of the lesson, but the written exercises are the map to nail the lesson.
I love how they do "figure #" like its going to help figure out those flurries of notes. Unless, there is a book to go along with this?
Thesaurus of scales and melodic patterns for guitar by Nicolas slonimsky
No nonsense guitarist! Absolutely love him!
Buckethead is actually one of my favorite guitarists. His guitar playing just melts my face.
He's a machine
Figure 3 is my favourite! So bloody impressive! So good!
When you realise that the man was playing different parts of "Jordan" and "Botnus", and at scales contrary to the ones on their original songs. What a lovely edit.
the way he hide his pick and swap to tapping mode and bring his pick out again.... speechless man
Is he not just holding it in his index finger?
@@joeperry1002 he hold it between his thumb and the palm of his right hand 👌🏻
Cool style , hard to master
been coming back to this video every few years since I was 15 (30 now) and I can never forget how these riffs defined me in some way. its incredible
lol half ur life! yep I saw this vid way back too it’s very old in RUclips
Buckethead is a beast unhuman skills
For those who are curious, this video is from a DVD that came with the January 2006 edition of Guitar One Magazine.
"Buckethead's a musical genius, man!"
He is brilliant!
right got it
now im a proffessional guitarrist
figure 3 was explained so perfect and thorough!! the patience taken with this lesson is unmatched thank u bucket!
Buckethead é demais!!!
É um dos guitarristas "virtuosos" que mais curto.
+Fabio Headbanger Eu também!
virtuoso* ahahh lol
+Danilo Santos Oh mano, valeu!!! KKKKKKK Acho que estava ou com sono ou meio travado quando comentei... rsrs Apesar que só o conheço "virtualmente", mesmo..., então..., tá valendo!... KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Abração!!!
All the dislikes are from Eddie van Halen!!!
I cant help but wonder - why the hell is he petting the wall?
he's drying his sweat off, so his fingers don't slide off.
Furry wall
Typical robot (chicken) behaviour.
ive never seen someone who can show every emotion in the world with only a guitar
Nobody has ever done anything on the guitar more technically and amazingly than buckethead.
'Lessons' is a funny word concerning this video. But it's outstsanding. F*** brilliant. Go to 1:14 - incredible.
No face, he doesn't talk, he doesn't sing, and he's still interesting.
i've seen this at least 15 times in the last 16 years when I first started played guitar! :D
Hahahahaha, I remember seeing this lesson not long after it first came out, around the time I started playing. Still awesome.
Same here. I saw this vid a few months after I had just started playing. It made me want to quit. Luckily I stuck with it. Still, 5 years later I still see this and want to just say fuck it.
buckethead is so funny, so talented , so criative and so enigmatic all at the same time..
probably the best musician of our time
Me too!!!Ive learned nothing.Im watching a genius a scientist and an icon.
two things. this video leads me to believe that buckethead is really funny and has a good sense of humor, and is therefore probably a very happy person. which makes me very happy, also, the fucking end made me herp all over my derp.
Buckethead should join Rings Of Saturn
Unlike Lucas Mann, Buckethead can actually play the music he writes lol
At least we can listen to Buckethead.
that's sun ra.
Yes, but can he play Freebird?
Jimmy Landa is that a joke lol check out some of his pikes hes proly the best musician there is
Jimmy Landa sure
Jimmy Landa he can probably play that while doing the robot and dodging some arrows.
@@Adam-yo3bt Right lol. He can play Free Bird while doing his nunchucks
Yes...,,,Buuut can freebird play Buckethead 🤔🤫???

of everything that is epicly amazing, this just hit number 1
Actually, he plays with lots of skill, speed, acuracy and emotion.
I love Figure 6! Best noise a guitar can make! Am I right?😎
MONSTRO!!! Toca muito!!!!
Very Amazing and talented guitarist a buckethead .
when i saw this, i looked at my guitar and even my guitar went, dude not gonna happen
i
Study Paul Gilbert ! And yes buckethead
My Top 4 Guitarrist that I approve:
1 - Buckethead
2 - Tom Morello
3 - Sonny Sharrock
4 - Eddie Van Halen
Bucket can play anything...the ideal is to do what everybody else is not...
Edit out him talking. But make the video quality shit. Then retitle it "Edited version". Nice
+Mark Minnema LOL I know. I adore Buckethead but can't stand some of his fans.

+Tyberius64 ok well maybe he's been eating lots of chicken n if that's the case then I need to get my hands on some KFC immediately
0 drugs
a lots
2 and a half drugs
Guitar skills lacking any soul or feeling . A million notes a second does not a great player make .
Do you even? Listen to soothsayer, electric tears, colma or I love my parents and talk again like that about buckethead...
He actually can make songs expressing all kinds of emotions. Some are without emotion but some songs can actually make people cry.
Dave Brewer see figure 6.
You should try listening to Aunt Suzie by him then.
@Dave Brewer. the green-eyed monster ... jealousy personified. Bell-end
this is great...every example is so different from each other....
Yep, me too. I never get those people who say that they wanna quit guitar after watching these videos, for me it's all inspirational
No one else on this planet comes close ,this style is so unique and almost impossible to follow,, shred king indeed and musical beyond belief is Buckethead!
wow !!! one of my best axe-man !!! Mr. Buckethead :) so cool play !!!
The fact he can shred on an acoustic is all you need to know about how amazing he is.

Figure 6 is one hell of a funky ass guitar playin !!
Got that? Now YOU do it.
0:20 LOL,that one chord with him looking around like that,i can imagine him in a horror movie XD but itd be an awesome one
Considering that one of his idols is Yngwie, this is more informative than all of Yngwie's lessons combined
If you are determined enough, you can grasp some of what he's doing as impossible as it may seem.
