Having a hot water tank in a child's room is not good, especially if they set the temp of the tank to be higher than what most tanks are preset at...which is around 120/125. About 4 months ago, I got up around 5 am, as I couldn't sleep. So I decided to take a shower.. I walked down a dark hall, and stepped barefoot into the utility room, to grab a towel off a shelf that is near the door-less utility room. I stepped into about 2 inches of 135 degree water at about the same time I kicked on the utility room light. I had my tank set to 135 degrees and it's really hot...it won't scald instantly but it still hurts if you leave your hands under it for more than 2 or 3 seconds.
I did slightly burned the bottom of my feet, due to just still not being wide awake, and shocked at the flooded scene I was looking at, it took more than a few seconds for me to respond and step back out of the room. I had to run down the hall and put my shoes on so I could go back into the room to shut the electricity off to the tank, and also the water supply....which I had to get a step stool for, as the shut off valve is on top of the 55 gallon tall tank, I'm only 5 foot 2 inches tall. . . I can't imagine a child, who probably still has very soft skin on their feet, getting out of bed and stepping into hot water. I at least, at age 60 have thickness to the soles of my feet, from just a lifetime of being on my feet and wearing various types of shoes,.etc. I didn't get a controlling 'feel' from the dad, but that mom is running on spite and anger...and it's horrible that she would stay with a man who would assault her While She Was Pregnant!

Parenting while poor, or attempting to, shouldn't be a criminal matter, or even a civil matter. Additionally, being poor and being around other poor people, means that there are a lot more people around that have criminal backgrounds, addiction backgrounds, etc. One of my issues with this is that until we license parents, until we start performing mandatory vasectomies upon any male that can't pay child support (or just refuses), we will continue to have defendants with lengthy serious criminal records who arrive in their late 20's or 30"s with 6-12 children shouldn't be allowed to do so - because I refuse to continue to pay for their children. To be clear, I am happy to help those in need who are in need through no fault of their own. .

The girlfriend is tightly-wound and bossy, just like Dad. She sounds like no fun. Mom's boyfriend has been convicted of domestic violence. Neither of these people should be constantly present. Nope. There are only so many "springs" and so many "summers" you will spend with your kids in this life. Reinstitute the zoo visits. I bet your kids were so very happy and content. If the SO doesn't like it? Well, that tells you everything you need to know about their character and maturity.
IMHO, there shouldn’t be a girl/boyfriends ANYWHERE NEAR a child unless that s.o. is a fiancé. I think it’s sick to bring a revolving door of people in and out of children’s lives. Having them become attached and then having to basically also break up when the relationship doesn’t work out. Furthermore , unless the person is the parent (and in limited circumstances a step parent) the S.O. has no business in discipline or important decisions in relation to the child. Leave your relationships at the door and be 100% focused on your child when at home. Their lives are already compromised with having two parents not together. Don’t be enemies with the other parent, swallow your pride and work with each other. I raised 3 children single. I chose not to have a relationship at all until the last one turned 18. i think the dad was implying that a) ramen was all they got to eat and b) they even had to split one ramen. dad did ask that his daughter be given nutritious food and her own meal.

I don't see Dad as controlling, really. She's such a child and so chaotic, that he needs to be the adult and the Dad and rein things in. She never stops arguing and whining and rechecking her Festivus List of Grievances! He's sort of forced to keep some kind of order and direction to his and the kids' interactions with her and keep things focused and on track. And she's so ridiculous that she spitefully turned down his offer to help them both by having her pick up after school which gives her a couple of extra hours AND allows her to avoid a meeting with his gf to pick up the children. And if there are issues, he doesn't have to take time off work to meet her for the kid exchange. Thats the level of petty he's facing...

I've seen alot of these and almost all the women have the same script. Complain and moan and then the big crying finale. The woman says she has big problems with all the things she can't control. She can she doesn't want too. I would always be concerned even for my ex-wife if she was hanging around with some guy who had a conviction for attacking her.

Having a hot water tank in a child's room is not good, especially if they set the temp of the tank to be higher than what most tanks are preset at...which is around 120/125.
About 4 months ago, I got up around 5 am, as I couldn't sleep. So I decided to take a shower..
I walked down a dark hall, and stepped barefoot into the utility room, to grab a towel off a shelf that is near the door-less utility room. I stepped into about 2 inches of 135 degree water at about the same time I kicked on the utility room light. I had my tank set to 135 degrees and it's really hot...it won't scald instantly but it still hurts if you leave your hands under it for more than 2 or 3 seconds.
I did slightly burned the bottom of my feet, due to just still not being wide awake, and shocked at the flooded scene I was looking at, it took more than a few seconds for me to respond and step back out of the room. I had to run down the hall and put my shoes on so I could go back into the room to shut the electricity off to the tank, and also the water supply....which I had to get a step stool for, as the shut off valve is on top of the 55 gallon tall tank, I'm only 5 foot 2 inches tall. . .
I can't imagine a child, who probably still has very soft skin on their feet, getting out of bed and stepping into hot water. I at least, at age 60 have thickness to the soles of my feet, from just a lifetime of being on my feet and wearing various types of shoes,.etc.
I didn't get a controlling 'feel' from the dad, but that mom is running on spite and anger...and it's horrible that she would stay with a man who would assault her While She Was Pregnant!

He wants either her to have a drivers license or have a adequate emergency plan to legally transport the child. It is perfectly legal for the court to order that she needs a license or have a licensed driver to transport the child.

It's funny how dad admits to mutual problems during exchanges but mom says it is always everyone else's fault. Also it's funny how mom states everything was fine until dad got a girlfriend. Parenting while poor, or attempting to, shouldn't be a criminal matter, or even a civil matter. Additionally, being poor and being around other poor people, means that there are a lot more people around that have criminal backgrounds, addiction backgrounds, etc. One of my issues with this is that until we license parents, until we start performing mandatory vasectomies upon any male that can't pay child support (or just refuses), we will continue to have defendants with lengthy serious criminal records who arrive in their late 20's or 30"s with 6-12 children shouldn't be allowed to do so - because I refuse to continue to pay for their children.
To be clear, I am happy to help those in need who are in need through no fault of their own.

The judge should address the pain caused when parents fight and snip and snark. It is a stab to the heart of children. It breaks their hearts. They love both parents. They can't help but love both parents. Anyone fighting and talking annoying smack about the other parent is killing something inside their kids. Your children will never regain that feeling of safety, a soft place to land, and the warmth of Mom and Dad being cooperative, cordial, and less heavy. Those children are paying a terrible price for parental lack of empathy and self-control.

IMHO, there shouldn’t be a girl/boyfriends ANYWHERE NEAR a child unless that s.o. is a fiancé. I think it’s sick to bring a revolving door of people in and out of children’s lives. Having them become attached and then having to basically also break up when the relationship doesn’t work out. Furthermore , unless the person is the parent (and in limited circumstances a step parent) the S.O. has no business in discipline or important decisions in relation to the child. Leave your relationships at the door and be 100% focused on your child when at home. Their lives are already compromised with having two parents not together. Don’t be enemies with the other parent, swallow your pride and work with each other. I raised 3 children single. I chose not to have a relationship at all until the last one turned 18. Bc they were my priority and I wasn’t going to give any extra time to anyone but my kids.

The problem is that when you get petty, everything you start requesting seems petty. If he just would have stuck to the really important things, the judge may have been more apt to hear him when he said that the DV happened around the child and the child being screamed at by the boyfriend, when you get up in arms about Ramen noodles and put it in a parenting plan, it kind of makes it look like you’re looking for stuff.
