I love the obscure/golden age stuff. I didn't get into hobby RC cars until the mid 90s, so, I was never exposed to a lot of the older stuff you review on your channel. I find them far more interesting than modern stuff.
Hi Alberto, yeah I don’t think this company really gets it due in vintage hobby rc. I own Tamiya and kyosho buggies of the era and AYK is in my humble opinion nicer. There’s an actual artistry to these buggies. The fit and finish better. The quality of materials better. The weight is lighter. Where the loss is in the bodies just not quite Tamiya or Kyosho level in detail-appearances but some would argue they do look better than the big brands. All I can definitively say is: I know you know rc cars and perhaps you can agree-some rc just leave you feeling full filled and some just don’t…AYK is alright. Happy Holidays. 🙏
I got this for Christmas 1985/86 and it was a pile of poop. Within 5 minutes the dif stripped and I had to wait 2 weeks for shop to repair, an hour after getting it back it happened again. Spent more time in the shop and I eventually gave up. My mates Tamyia Hornet was thrashed and never had any problems, I had to watch him play with his. No wonder they are no longer
You love boats. Please find the CEN Racing Baja Cruiser. Back in the day, the RC boasts were modeled after authentic ships. This was a licensed model and it is good!
So I just received a free Cen boat but it’s not a Baja. Any how it’s coming to my channel but it will be at least two years before it pops up. There’s about 18 cars/trucks/boats/ bike’s ahead. ✌️
I appreciate this video and knowledge on old rc cars. Can you share anything on the Dunn brothers? I remember in old magazines that they were affiliated with AYK in some way. Thanks.
I always look so forward to your videos a question are you familiar with the steering ball plates on the sands for your chassis they are the plastic plates that hold in the steering knuckle for some reason they come in two sizes wondering which ones the correct one as the one I ordered the whole is too large.

Oh Chris, feel bad about your experience with Bobcat. I do feel great you can watch mine to see how they should behave. Your awesome. Thanks 😊
raceprep, some ayk kits came with orange endbell roar stock motors.

So i believe there was a Mike Dunn that raced for AYK in later years with the AYK Boost model I believe but that’s all I know. Thanks for watching
Hey great video! Have you thought about showing one of the old RadioShack cars from the late 90's like the Road Phantom or Desert Eagle?
Actually there’s a few radio shack rc’s on my channel. Enjoy 😉

Oops met the sand scorcher.
Hi Jeff, actually I am familiar with those sand scorcher parts but never had issues with them. My problem with them was the tiny screws lol! Thanks
My father called E and C clips "Jesus Clips" as in, OH JC! where did it go. I have always called them JC Clips for this reason.
AYK we’re always just a little bit better than their competitors.. I didn’t know they had a connection to HPI
Thanks man
Gear too soft, the 2nd gear brass hole too easy wear. 😢
I’m sorry to hear that about yours. Your running a brushless power or 3S?
