Someone told me once that those Case backhoes used some of the same drivetrain parts as the farm tractors did. Not sure if that's true or not. Good idea having a parts machine.
That tractor has been sitting that long with out a cover on the muffler. I would have to say with all of the rain you have been getting. The engine is locked up tight.

I just put two steering pistons on my friends 86 Case 580. It is a two wheel drive and was in incredible shape for the year. Same owner since new.

Interesting machine, I say you ask to buy the engine. Would make for an interesting tractor swap! Still in suspense about that combine haha.
I would buy a Case 580B and use it to load manure spreaders that is what I would do when I get my farm started.
