Your tutorial on cloth pinning in Blender is both informative and presented in a clear and easy-to-follow manner. You've made a complex topic seem much more accessible, and I appreciate that. If you could create a unique clothing design using Blender's cloth simulation, what would it be, and what kind of animation or scene would you set up to showcase it? Get as creative as you like, and I'm excited to hear your ideas!
Amazing tutorial! Creating a unique clothing design using Blender's cloth simulation opens up a world of creative possibilities. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much @pixxo3d for putting out such terrific vids on cloth sims and beginner physics. Always wrap up watching hell motivated and inspired to keep learning!
I tried Hook but found some difficulties when the empty had to follow another Mesh. So I tried to make the Mesh directly parent of the cloth, it works well
2:14 another way to subdivide a mesh is by geometry nodes. I am a noob in blender and I haven't explore yet the geometry n odes area but this is simple, just add new nodes (just in like shading nodes tab) and put between the two nodes a SUBDIVIDE MESH and there you can subdivide, this is a non destructive way to subdivide the mes, so you can test your cloth parameters back and forward and keep a mesh with just 2 or 3 subdivides on the mesh itsefl, hope it can help someone, cheers!
thank brother, for this, I am really stuck now, how to create tearing package, like tearing cady package for example, which there no lessson to find for blender in the internet, can you help?
Great video, I notice when I go to object and apply scale to the plane I am using for my cloth simulation the modifier don't function with the object that I apply a collision modifier to. What can I do to fix this?
Did you solve this? I've just managed to get curtains opening by attaching multiple points on the cloth via one vertex group to a single hook to an object changing scale.
MPORTANT READ: I am doing a cloth simulation in experiment testing cube and plane object only. I notice when I add my plane for the cloth and subdivide it works well even after adding the cloth physics. Blender viewport runs with a good frame rate. I add in a cube made it a collision object, everything works fine, Blender runs at a good speed. I apply the collision modifier and after that the cloth falls through the cube as if I added no collision. The same thing will happen if I apply the scale to the plane I used for the cloth. I tried baking the cloth sim and still the same issue. I also notice if you apply the same modifier twice to the same object, Blender viewport runs at less that one frame per second. How to solve this? I also notice Blender slow play back and lag has nothing to do with the Physics but the modifiers. Because if you apply the physics modifiers Blender runs without much lag, however, the modifiers don't function when applied
@@PIXXO3D because you are pining to the whole side of the cloth, and how to use a point? imagine if you have a tissue with four corners and you want to hook only the points, or as the picture shows, only specific points on the texture. This video is more like a flag, where the whole side of the object has been pinned.
You can use the Same process you just won’t be selecting a whole side of verts to a group. You’d be selecting only the corners of the tissue or specific point of the flag you wish to be pinned to a wall.

amazing content thanks for sharing this information
This Blender cloth pinning tutorial is helpful!
You made this tutorial so easy, it's easy to understand the step by step!
Fantastic cloth pinning tutorial! Your clarity in explaining complex topics is much appreciated.
Thank you for making light up🤗

4:19 or you can have selected the vertices and then control+H and select hook to an object and voilà! already hooked

thx bro

@DavidESSOELOKAN oh! good tip, thanks for share this solution my friend
Perfect tutorial thank you. Just about to make a cloth awning and this is just what I needed
Thank you so much man, I was looking for something like this on a specific animation I'm doing. You're literally a lifesaver.
"Literally?" So, you were actually going to die if you didn't figure it out?
Solid as usual. Very helpful.
You said everything that need to be said. thanks man i wish i watched ur video 3 hours instead of searching online
Cool tutorial! 😁
Does the cloth also react to a collision object moving through it too?
This is great!
Great tutorial! fast and objective

This deserves top comment. Thank you!

Excellent tutorial. Thank you for posting.
Thanks so much
Thank you
I'm trying to make cape, how did u manage to reach the situation in 0:43?
thanks for this content, amazing
Maybe I'm stupid. I don't understand how you added multiple control points when there's only one slot for a pinning group 🤔
Vertex 1 - pin group and group a
Vertex 2 - pin group and group b
Hook 1 group a
Hook 2 group b
Cloth sim pin group
3:30 - 3:40 for those who know how to do cloth and just needed the pin....
Thanks for your tutorial
Select your pin group and then. F3 Hook to a new object. Put it before clothing simulations. Now you can move your clothes ❤

hmmm, can i pin it to curve tho?
2:59 The time he starts to talk about the pin part
3:57 HOOK TO IT
How can i pin it on both sides?
Thank you for sharing
But how do I pin cloth to two different objects?
How can I add multiple pins. i am trying to simulate a canopy opening and closing. I hit a wall lol

@@Aaron628318 I was looking for a solution like that! Thanks for the tip!
❤ u made text tutorial.. thanks bro..
Not yet I need to make an animation this week so I will give it a go

What do you mean?@@vay911.
god stuff thank you
I am curious why does Blender called that part"shape", since it is for pin group
thanks
When i pin a vertex group it works well when i click space but when i start moving the mesh it lags behiind and clips
is it normal that my hook seems to auto key my movement? I put play, move it around, then after i play it around cloth tries to follow old movement...
Starts at 2:55

How would you Parent this to say a bone in an armature? Child of constraint grabs the empty but the cloth pin groups dont follow :(
the thumbnail is misleading
Please explain how?
