I guess this was very, very expensive. The condition is amazing!
I had no idea they even did box sets in 1970! But then I was only 8. Nice item 👍❤️
At the time, many people viewed it as a money-making scam by EMI. I was still at school when I bought mine and grudged buying it, but it was (originally) the only way the album was released in the UK. You bought the whole package or you couldn't get the album. Of course, once the rush of sales died down it was re-issued as a normal/stand-alone LP, the only difference being a green apple on the back of the sleeve. I remember Anne Nightingale (DJ on The BBC) calling them out about it and myself being a complete hypocrite by hating her for what she'd dared to say, while completely agreeing with her.
so it this the original from 1970? That’s amazing the condition is a beaut worth every pence you spent
Yea
Amazing that this exists. I came across this very version of Let It Be as a 14 year old in 1970. I had no idea such an edition with a book even existed. I bought it of course. No one else I knew had any inkling of such an edition existed either. Eventually it was stolen, sadly enough. Great photos. I really enjoyed the film as well.
Saddens me to read that your copy was stolen. Am glad that this did not prevent you from enjoying the film.
Excellent purchase there is something I want to contribute: This box is actually called "The Get back glossy box" and was edited for only 3 months and then discontinued its production Congratulations.-
I remember passing on the lone copy they had of this in the import bin at Discount Records in Menlo Park California in 1970; I forget if the price tag said 10 or $20 but at the time, that was just way too much for my 10 year-old sensibilities... one of the great regrets of my life-- thanks for reminding me!
If they did an exact reproduction of these for the reissue I think they'd be successful
maybe they will when the 50th anniversary edition of let it be comes out
It's postponed to this year, it might come out together with the get back movie and book
@@bryanjefferson6575 will it be titled Get Back or Let It Be?
@@takubo it's the 51th anniversary by now
bad news, they didn't
Amazing addition to your collection ! Impeccable condition! Impressive for a box set that’s 50 years old
That’s a great set and magnificently packed. In such good condition. I love the Let it Be album and have many different variances. Still looking to get my hands on the box set here in Australia….. one day!
And here I thought I over packed things I've mailed. That's awesome that the sender took the time to do that right. That's just crazy how amazing that looks.
Very nice set! Good to see one in this great condition!
Fantasticooo. Completa imformasion y perfecta entrega
I've got the original book. I opened it as a teenager and yes, cracked the spine. It is cool to have but I do not have the original LP though. I really enjoyed you're video, it was almost breathtaking watching you open it. The original!! So amazing!
Lovely, Andrew! All the best from Brazil!
This is my holy grail. It’s the one thing I would rush out to buy if money were no object.
I bought the English import in 1980 with the red apple on the back. It was my most pristine LP for years and I don't even want to go into how I lost the album.
How'd you lose it?
So well wrapped
I still have mine ,which I pre ordered and bought the day it was released, saved all my pocket money for this . I noticed that yours did not come with the advertisement sheet of all the albums on Apple records ,which was inside box set. So in a way not complete! Book was poor quality sadly. One of my prized possessions though. Fan from day one of the best group ever. Strangely, I moved to US and met another loyal fan who became my husband ,his birthday is the day they first appeared on Ed Sullivan ,coincidence?? Or fate.
GRANDIOSO, MUCHACHO. AHORA TIENES MUCHOS CHIZITOS CELESTES PROTEGIENDO TU COLECCIÒN LET IT BE.
Julious, que son los Chizitos?
Excelent unboxing 👌👋
Gorgeous. I have been buying Beatles si
I gasped as you opened it. 😮
Hello Andrew, nice video! I have a set myself and these are now so difficult to locate in superior condition. I'm in the hunt for a White Album export version (Parlophone labels). Cheers!
Beautifull. Thanks for shareing
Fantastic !!!
Reminds you of what we’ve lost with the advent of all-digital music distribution.
Very cool. YT says that there are 6 comments here, but they are hidden, so I don't know if anyone has already said this. My USA pressing of the album has the red apple, both on the back cover and the label itself. Also, I notice that the spine of your book reads "GET BACK," which was the working title of the project.
I wonder if Paul will ever decide to have the LET IT BE film be remastered and cleaned up for DVD release
That's coming in September to the US
SlapKFD not anymore :(
moved it to august 2021.
I hope they will release the 55 hours film without cuts. Let see if the hardcore fan can stand it. Then release an album ser of all the Get Back Session from Twickenham to Rooftop to Apple Studio. Let see if everyone can stand listening to those bad outakes
It's a show
Really original 1970 set? Amazing
Amazing
Fabuloso... Saludos desde México...!!!
My copy of Let It Be that I had back in 69/70 had a red apple on it.
It's cathartic seeing the unpacking too. Giving the observer the complete experience
I hope they will release an official Get Back/Let It Be box sets. All the outtakes should be included from Twickenham to Apple Studio to the Rooftop Concert in its entirety.Let see if any hardcore Beatles fan had an endurance to listen.
That was the first LP I bought with my own money, when I was 12. Be very careful with the book, they fall apart very easily. Red Apple meant UK, I thought. I bought mine in Canada in '72, and it was green.
Nice Dude I wish i have one too! :D
Being an original set, I hope the pages were glued correctly and stay in place. Good luck with that. Thanks.
Very Nice!
Thanks!
Yo adquirí éste formato en 1973 en México y siempre me gustó todo lo que contenía, el diseño me gustó más que el disco en sí que a pesar de ser de los Beatles nunca sentí que estuvieran ahí, un disco triste para ser el último lanzamiento.
Looks like an auction sticker, seen them on Stroud House. I wonder if the same .
I have the LP and book. I just need the box!
New Let It Be boxset is coming out in October! Wonder how it'll hold up to this beaut.
Wow that's great, how did you manage to get one so tidy, was it brand new & never used ? & if it was how could anyone keep an original copy so long without playing it ?. I hate to think what you paid for it. What a treasure for any Beatle fan.
very nice
This’ll be the 20XX 50th Anniversary, but hard cover, a bunch of CDs for the sessions & songs they recorded, & the album remixed (with bonus tracks?)
Your wished came true in 2021.
The Green Apple was the more common label Red only in the US!
My Let It Be album from 1970 has a red apple on the record itself. I didn't know or don't recall a book.
What's when I have the green apple? I think my record is quite old aswell..
Nice
interesting...i have a clean copy of THE REVOLVER ALBUM AND cover...a bit tarnished....
Fantastic where can I purchase one
Birth of the Super Deluxe Box Sets ???
How much? And is it still available? How or what Address you order it from?
Joyita 👌
The Apple Record cover supposed to be RED supposed to be. The green one was for 45
Alguien sabe si este box se vende a Chile ???? ..cuéntenme por favor gracias..
I thought the original Let it Be LPs had a red apple and not a green one. Is this then a reprint? (the red signified ABKCO was the owner as opposed to EMI/Capital)
GENIAL
I have a question about this Let It Be,oficial album.Which came first?Get Back or this as you show me now?Because Get Back also was a oficial album right? But was taken from catalog, the motive never explain, can be the sound or other question? After this Get Back was pirated, but user capa oficial and Apple Stamp.Strange this my guess. So this year what coming release....I be waiting ok.Thank you.
I thought these were only sold in Canada!
Understated British guy says...that's nice.
Notice no title on the front? They were still debating about titling it.
Hi.
Is it a bootleg release?
Shouldn't the lp cover be gatefold?
Red apple on the label - that'll be an american story, right? English were the green ones?
What did that cost, Andrew? Amazing! Are you rich?
I Have First Pressing
Album Has Red Apple
Mine is a Capitol reissue from the 1980’s with a 60’s era “Rainbow” label instead of a red Apple label.
where can I get one
Hello , Where did you get this? Which price?
They used the Green Apple on the record. I always seen the label in a Red Apple for Let It Be.
All UK copies had the green Apple on the record. It was only red on the U.S. pressing.
@@Parlogram I live in the U.S
No, mine’s early pressing red apple logo came from Singapore press
Book pages will certainly fall apart once you leaf through it. I know it from my own experience back then. Pity it was not properly bound, but instead it has those separate glossy pages, simply glued on the back. As it is, it's best not to open it at all, if one wants it intact.
Whats the use if cannot check the book
Im pretty sure the official Beatles store sells vinyl records to tho?
packaging is well done - where did you buy this box set from?
This is like ASMR.
Have u any idea of how much this would if cost when it came out at first ?? Lovely addition to Ur collection 👍👍
In the UK, it originally cost £2:19s:11d which in today's money is around 50 GBP/$70
Thank you 👍 would it of been dearer than a normal LP ??
Out of curiosity . What did you have to pay for a mint condition UK box set ?
The Box Set of this will probably be next the CD Set that is. At least I hope so!
Let A, let it B, let it C oh let it D
I have the original
If I'm not mistaken, the Apple label on the disc in the box set I bought in 1970 was red on side one. It's long gone now, but was that more rare?
The side 1 label was indeed red on the U.S. 1st pressing. It sold a lot so it's not that rare.
@@Parlogram Thanks.
I’d be afraid to take it out of the box it came in
woow
What year was this set manufactured?
1970

Lucky
NEVER OPEN IT!!!!!!! - Mine fell apart in the 70's
Amazing set, shame about the packaging.
HI THERE! can i ask for the right price (more or less) for one copy in this condition? i can buy one at 350 euros, and im thinking about it...thanks!
€350 is fair price for a set in VG+ condition. Prices for top grade copies are now hitting €1,500-2,000
@@Parlogram thanks a lot!
@@Parlogram gonna think about it, cos i have 400 euros to spend un Beatles (haha), and also have near me a dutch blue box, mint condition (no Peppers insert and no white álbum póster or photos) for 360,and Just can buy one of them..... Im thinking on buying the blue box and someday get insert, pics and póster...
Is it an unwritten law in internetdom to NOT publish all, or even most, of the LET IT BE book pictures online?
how much? I paid $500 for mine same good condition.
Latvija?
This is great. I need new videos please I am getting withdrawal symptoms.
A new video coming tomorrow!
I'm sure that isn't cheap.
Cost?
This set was sent to us by a client to sell on their behalf. They usually sell for between 300-500 GBP/$400-600
@@Parlogram It's the cleanest one I've ever seen. Usually the boxes have split corners. Some lucky buyer is going to snag a rare find and Beatles items are always collectible.
This is a bootleg right?
No
First
Lol
Spends money on book. Won't look at it for fear of damaging it. The collector mentality, kind of depressing.
What an obscene amount of packaging
hardly to believe it is original...isn.t it?
fragile? must be french
They look so cheaply made
Such elaborate packaging for such a mediocre album. "Don't Let Me Down" should have been on the album instead of the dreadful "Dig A Pony"! Had Paul McCartney not been such a tyrant rehearsing his songs to death, The Beatles would have perfected and recorded a new Electric version of "Across The Universe" and George Harrison's classic "All Things Must Pass"!!!
Mediocre my ass. It’s a great album, and Dig a Pony is the highlight. Don’t Let Me Down would’ve turned it into a brilliant album.
@@TheJayson8899 I agree that Dig A Pony is a great tune but as Beatles albums go it's probably ranked second or third from the bottom. The Beatles themselves shelved this album for all the bad vibes that went into recording it. I don't know why Phil Spector got such a bad rap for taking a whole lot of material deemed unusable and turning it into a presentable release.
Nice
