    Would so love to do a robot CNC project one day...

    Great work; so you don´t need the kuka cnc interface for the toolpaths?, is it a cheaper solution?

    Thank you for sharing!
    anyway, how much is it cost to have such a system if I purchase a brand new one from kuka?

      Best to contact KUKA, they have robots of all sizes depending on your requirements..

    Whats the price for this setup?
    Have been looking aorund for prices. But only got a respons from 1 yet. And it was very very overpriced in my opinion..
    But it is hard to find prices online :/ PLease help :D

      Well I don't work for KUKA.. But you'd be looking at over 50k for the robot before any option packages or external axes.

    I see the connection between the wrist and the spindle isn't just a lump of metal (can be seen quite well at 0.11 and 0.20). Would like to know what it offers (that a lump of aluminium doesn't) - force sensors? water-cooled spindle?

      Its a Schunk quick release system

    foam is cute, but what about harder materials like acrylic or aluminum?

      Definitely possible, unfortunately I only had 2 days in Austria to prepare, code and film. So the material on hand was most practical. Best thing about KUKA robots is they're incredibly strong, accurate and patient. With the right end-effector they can cut or mill through anything!

    Perfect machine, I have 4 axis Routers only... try make models in waxes. I produce such waxes for CNC milling. It is the best material for learining and testing 3D models .

    Great video. Can I ask you what density is that foam of?

    • @KarlSingline

      Just standard styrofoam, if I recall correctly

    Why is this not 6 axis milling? I see 6 areas of motion in the arm. KUKA says this is a 6 axis machine.

      what happens if you rotate around the length of the tool bit?

    • @roberthuskey343
      @roberthuskey343 2 года назад

      @@KarlSingline The end stays at one point while the angle of the tool bit changes around that point in 3D? Not clear to me what this means concerning # of axis.

      @@roberthuskey343 if you're holding a drill vertically and you twist the drill along z-axis.. are you changing anything?

    • @roberthuskey343
      @roberthuskey343 2 года назад

      @@KarlSingline No, I get that. I just realized that the 5 axis refers to the possible positions and movements of the bit and not the degrees of freedom of the machine itself. Correct?
