UPDATE: since I filmed this, the brow and lip products have definitively emerged as the true heroes. I've been wearing the lip glosses incessantly and wearing the lip blur too (the pigment actually has more longevity on the lips than I expected it to based on the feeling of the formula). I'm using the brow set and the brow pencil daily and love them more than ever. For cheeks, it's actually the BLUSH that I have been preferring-the bronzer on its own is a bit more orange than it looked on me here when mixed with the other cheek products. I haven't been using the highlighter as much as I thought I would-my favorite cheek look from this group is just the blush on its own. I'm still impressed by the weird powder but haven't used it daily, mainly because the screw lid is a bit clunky and difficult. If I were starting over and spending my own budget I'd focus on brows and lips and maybe include a blush.

Oh ya, pregnancy brain. Here we go loopty-loo! I just slept twice as long when pregnant, around 17 hours daily. Have to fess, however, that I'm inherently flaky, brain fog, Swiss cheese memory, and all that, so even if I was impacted in such ways while gestating a human I'm sure I didn't notice.
And dagnabbit, all the effing cones! I swear...

Hi there Hannah, if you get a chance, how would you say the highlighter performs over foundation? Does it pick it up or anything?
@@kagitsune the highlighter glides over everything-it's a really great "finishing gloss." I think that's part of why I'm not using it as much, b/c I tend to like putting cream highlights underneath instead of on top.

Pregnancy vs Drunkenness Lol: since my son is 22 & has a 3.8 gpa in college & is a healthy young person, I can tell this: I was preggo & teaching Jr college, and one of my students wanted to do a presentation on non-alcoholic wine. I did not understand that it is like kombucha, it's actually low alcohol not no alcohol. I had A LOT of samples and later realized I indeed had gotten tipsy. Whoops! I was the girl who would nurse an o'douls all night (1 hour, pregnancy is very fatiguing!) But would tear off the label, pretend to be drunk, & ask men if they were the baby daddy 😂😂😂 but i was heartbroken that i had accidentally gotten tipsy. Doc was chuckling & just told me to have pop unstead of faux alcohol. He encouraged me to go out at 8.5 months, on halloween as a fantasia hippo, bless him...

I have to say, packaging really does matter to me! For a long time I thought it was all about the product itself and while yes that’s true, if it has shitty packaging I don’t want it!

clean marketing is one of my biggest turn-offs. i don't want all plant based ingredients; i want what is most effective, most cosmetically elegant, most research-backed and with the least risk of an allergic reaction. it's nice to see a new makeup brand who isn't doing that.

@@kagitsune i don’t avoid clean brands as long as they don’t push the fear mongering stuff too far. i do appreciate seeing parabens in a formula though. i just want an inci that has proven actives, soothing ingredients, and hopefully has the active ingredients’ percentages specified

Refy is a brand thar continues to blow me away, remarkably the brow sculpt is not my favourite but the complexion products (for me at least) are sublime. And I really love the minimalist take on packaging
Becca had a water powder like this one. It was great for about a month but then it dried out & was just like a normal powder. I’d be interested to know if the Refy one dries out over time as well.

i’ve had the refy sculpt for a while and always feel like i struggle with that flakiness, even when i wipe off the spoolie first (and it’s not that i let it set then go back to it). it’s sad, because of all that i just barely use it but this video is making me want to try again 💜

Hannah, I bought the Refy brow gel after a video you posted a while back in which you said if there’s one thing to get from the Sephora sale is that brow product. True indeed. Love it. I think all brow products can flake if you add too much or as it dries out in the tube. So every so often I wipe off the wand and that seems to help. I’m gonna try the lip blush and interested in the blush and powder as well. Love your brand reviews, always informative.

I have the ball one for brows - it’s fun but kind of pokey - and while it leaves some tint and mild hold it is quite subtle and needs to be taken in conjunction with a pencil

I'd love to see you do a comparison between the Refy lip gloss and other nourishing glosses packaged in a tube. I'm thinking of the Summer Fridays gloss, Naturium Balm, Laneige, Lanolips, etc -- the market is saturated with this kind of thing! But I would love to see a smackdown of these formulas with the HLP signature nuance :)

Your discussion with the issues around taming down dewiness a bit with powder reminded me of a couple products that I think I saw on Lisa Eldridge's channel. I'm so curious to see if you'd consider reviewing stuff like the By Terry Hyaluronic Pressed Hydra-Powder or the Rae Morris Invisible Mattifier. These don't have any pigment which is intriguing but could also have the potential to be a sort of do-nothing product or just suck the life out of the complexion. They're also pricey, so a wear test would be particularly insightful. Thanks as always for the valuable info! I'm excited to try some of Refy's stuff now. My local sephora's display is virtually non-existent.

that powder sounds exactly like the old Becca Hydra-Mist Powder! I bought it before they went out of business and it really felt so wet and refreshing. the only issue is that it dried out really quickly and lost that quality, so I would be really interested to know if the Refy one stays "hydrated" over time
What was the packaging of the becca version? When I saw water was the top ingredient in the Refy one, I wondered if the screw top was there to aid in maintaining hydration in the formula?
@@agresticumbra So I had the full version as well as the small travel size, and the travel size just had a screw top and nothing else. It dried out really quickly. The full version actually had an extra hard plastic cover underneath the screw top that you opened to get the powder out, and then closed to try and keep in the moisture. It definitely took longer for that one to dry out, but it still did far before I had a chance to use it up.

I saw a tiktok where she was reading the recycling guidelines where components need to be 2 in by 2 in at least to be recyclable. So, if the blush component doesn't meet those standards it negates the whole recyclable aspect and just feels cheap. What you think?

The pomade is my new favorite brow product. It has replaced my Joah brow gel/pencil combo for the most part. The Joah product is good but I just prefer the drier texture of the pomade.

Hi Hannah, I actually used the pomade the same way you do but i still got it to look flakey on my brows. Someone told me that the formula may have changed and it flaked with her too. Who knows though if that is the case. I loved the hold of the product but getting the flakes turned me off of it as a product. As always, i love watching any content you produce 🤩🤩🤩

Hey Hannah! Recently I've been intrigued by the Haus labs foundation, could you try it again in another shade? Would be interested how it compares to the ND concealer you use as your foundation. Maybe shades 015 and 030 could be the closest, not sure.

I had the same issue with the refy brow sculpt where it would look like glue or dandruff in my brows but I never used a different spooly, I was always using the brush on the end and I didn’t wait until the product dried either so it was never a fave product for me 🤷♀️
Mu current brow pencil is having literally a few strokes left, and that’s it. We will part our ways after 3 years. And now I am in a market for a new one. This Refy brow set looks like something that would do excellent job.

12:22 I usually do highlight blush then bronzer or blush highlight and finish with bronzer well…now that I think of it…I do it all kinds of ways. But usually it’s top to bottom& I go back and double layer highlighter.
Have heard great things about the Highlighter. Tried the gloss & it was Nothing Special but liked the metal applicator.

Ok my hot take is that I hate the brow sculpt bc way too much comes out on the spoolie, it gunks up around the packaging, and the cap always malfunctions and opens the hidden brush when I’m trying to use the spoolie. I’m thinking I’ll try the benefit wax when I run out? But would love equivalent recs bc the product itself is on point it’s just rly a victim of its packaging for me

I do have an unrelated question (sorry): does anyone know if a huggie version of HLP's earrings exist? I mainly wear huggies, as bar earrings poke into my ear and neck, which I dislike. Thank you!
I don't know of one off the top of my head, but the fastener for these is actually a big round ball and the bar doesn't poke through (hard to describe, but it might make sense if you look at the listing!) Basically the earring back is smooth rather than pokey like other earrings in this style.
