Thanks so much! I hope it helps you start getting off the tab. Nothing wrong with tab! But sometimes there's more to see when you can read the music. Enjoy!
Thanks a bunch. It was indepth. Isn't a guide put on Notation sheets to tell us the string we should play? Like if i wanted to play my A note on the 5th fret of the low E string, not on any other string? Well, thanks for making this video. I appreciate and i subscribed.
Thanks for your kind words! Yes, I think you are talking about tab (tablature). This the easiest way for a guitar player to read notes, but it can also be very limiting. Many fall into a trap of getting to read the tab and not the staff. This is fine...but like I say, it limits you in some ways. Here's another sheet you can download and practice that I made with notation AND tab.
So true! I mean, it's not super important to know that, but I feel like it's something that guitarists should know. If you write a Middle C for a trumpet player, they will play a b-flat, but if you read it for a guitar player, they will play a c an octave lower. It's still a c, but maybe not in the octave that you thought it was.🧐 Thanks for watching!
Okay...that's fair! 🤣 I use the keyboard because it's more visual. You have to think about it a little more, but HOPEFULLY it makes everything more clear in the end. Thanks for watching!
Learning to read sheet music will open new doors and unlock hidden dimensions for you! (Too strong. Okay, well it's at least fun and gratifying.)
Only like 10 minutes in and this is an incredible resource!!
Glad to hear it!
Very clear explanation.
Glad you think so!
Great video. Thank you!!

The fact that guitar notation is written one octave higher, than played, is seldom addressed.

Reading guitar music with a keyboard. 🤔
