Haha same! My daughter was up 8-12 times in the night easy! Still wakes 3-5 times a night at 18 months. She also did the 30 minute naps for ages! and had to be held through it.
Agreed! My first was very similar to Halle, I think all of these cat naps and night wake ups are developmental appropriate for the age, even though it’s tiring and frustrating for us.
You are doing great. My 2 year old wakes a few times for a few mins atm and needs a cuddle and goes back sleep. But before that he was a terrible sleeper as a baby and didnt sleep through until the week before I brought his sister home! My daughter is 7months and I BF her too and she sleeps better than him but is the same with naps and night time she wakes multiple times too, I've been told its normal so I'm not too worried but I am tired. I hate coffee but I think I'm going to have to start trying to like it! Mumma is tired. It's hard work but I love spending time with them and watching them grow.
My 10 month old went through the same thing as Hallie. We didn’t do any sleep training, responded to him with cuddles, feeding, rocking. And now he naps for an hour and half each nap time (2 a day now) and can sleep on his own in his cot for 3-4 hours. He still wakes a lot for breast in the night. But I’m so glad I didn’t sleep train and he just got there on his own with lots of comfort from us. Babies get there in their own time xx
My little boy was the exact same with naps. 30 mins on the dot. Then suddenly, about 5-6 months ish he started having longer morning naps, and the afternoon followed. It’s developmentally normal, please don’t stress, it will pass 😊 xx
My second daughter did the exact same as Halle with the 30 minute naps! Drove me a little crazy but she did eventually grow out of it. You’re doing amazing, having two little ones is hard work xx
My boy is 3 born 6.9.2020 in remember watching your videos and hearing how George napped and I also had my best friend and sister with babies the same age, their children also had long naps and I spent so much time analysing it trying to figure out what was wrong . Turns out nothing was wrong and I caused my self ALOT of stress for no reason as it was just developmental and where he was at , one day he suddenly turned into a baby that had to be woken up after 3 hrs ! This was about 5-6 months old if I remember right !! Looking back I regret the time I lost planning naps and trying to find an ‘answer’ ! Don’t put pressure on your self chances are nothing you do will change it ! Your doing great but no one expected any different ❤
My 2 are now 22 months and almost 6 months. In a lot of ways its easier and in other ways its harder but im trying to take it one day at a time. It is the best thing ever but still so hard, your doing amazing shan
Hey lovely, this is so normal for her to be cat napping at this age and stage. Mine were both the same, especially Reuben! Half an hour naps are normal. The longer naps come a bit later, especially when they start dropping naps, they will take less naps but hopefully longer ones. So hang in there, it will pass 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Also, huckleberry is a lifesaver isn’t it! I used it with both of the boys, although it used to be completely free when Joel was a baby 😭😭 xx
My little boy was exactly the same with sleep! You're not alone ❤ every nap was a contact nap till about 3/4 months and then he started going down for longer on his own. He's 18mo now and we only just started sleeping through (75% of the time 🤣)
My baby was a very crap napper, and generally a crap sleeper. He’s 22m and still is pretty bad. But when he was small what I found to help with bad nights was trying to get one long nap in the day even if it meant that was a contact nap. He was so much better with that one longer sleep!
My wee one struggled to sleep at the start but I noticed he didn’t like the space in the next to me so I put a U shaped pillow in to see if it helped and he started sleeping through the night! You can get things to put round them but to see if it works use a pillow or doc a tot inside the cot
Hi Shan, i have a 5 month old who does the exact same thing with her naps as Halle. Always one sleep cycle and wakes up grumpy. I recently discovered by accident that if i catch her just as she is waking up and i either feed her back to sleep or rock back to sleep, she will then do another sleep cycle and transition on her own to a second sleep cycle! I googled it and it’s called ‘saving the nap’. Has really helped me. Might be something to try xx
Awww I’m so happy baby girl is sleeping for you Shan! My girl was the exact same as soon as I started sleep training & putting her down awake she started sleeping between 1.30/2hrs instead of 20 min cat naps!! Difference is I did this at 8 months wish I did it sooner tbh 😂😂 xx
The amount of stuff I want to do in the house and the lack of time with a 2y8m and 4 month old! I totally get you (and i don't even vlog!) Our girl still refuses to nap in bed during the day, carrier and upright only and our boy has started to refuse his naps! 🙈 Mummy needs zzzzz! 😴 And I need more ME time, but by time both are in bed in the evening I'm done! 😂
My first was the worst sleeper everrrr but we used huckleberry from about 5 weeks old. Her sleep definitely got way better between 3 & 4 months when routine is recommended. She is now 18 months and amazing at naps and sleeps 7pm-7am. She was also breastfed until just over 12 months old. My second is now 4 weeks old and is the complete opposite- a much sleepier baby & also breastfed. They’re all just so different!
I love huckleberry and found it so spot on with my daughter. I was also told that only 10 minutes of tummy time per day is recommended. I don’t know how scientifically true that is but if you find she’s not liking it for long periods of time that may be why.
Can you do a vlog showing what you do when you have both kiddos home for the afternoon or day. I striggle whwn i have them both alone with activities xx
You are without a doubt supermama Shan! I have a 2 year old and thinking about trying again next year. I am a little scared in how tough the start is as my little one was also a bad sleeper😅
Unpopular opinion perhaps, but sleep associations in a small baby are not a terrible thing. Some of them will need our help to sleep… My first was very similar to Halle, only sleeping 27min per nap and plenty of night wakings, which is developmental appropriate for this age. I tried all the techniques, including “drowsy but awake”, which only frustrated me. I resorted to breastfeeding to sleep for almost a year because it was what worked for us. Since then I gradually weaned and she has been a perfect sleeper, she will turn 3 in December. My second is 4 months old and has slept through since 6 weeks. Naps slightly better, definitely falls asleep easily! Miles away from his sister… I think he’s “a unicorn baby” and so was George 😉
Does she like the radio. Or even vlogs. That helped me. My lg just didn't like white noise or heartbeat. But she loves music. My lb always slept well. I did nothing different. Hes 4 and she's 1. She's now taking his toys 😳🙈🙃 hang in there chick🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hehe she does quite like the white noise tbf, but n music is also a good shout!! Aw that’s the same age gap between my two, god help us when Halle starts taking George’s toys 😅😂
I’m 13 almost 14 months in to 3 under 2 my eldest will be 3 in January and it’s honestly so much easier now and so much less stressful, just hang in there
My daughter ava is 6 months and is exactly the same with sleep as halle! She has to be rocked or fed to sleep But she has just fallen asleep on my lap watching you rock halle in the kitchen 😂
My 3 months old is the same, naps for 30-45 minutes, but she never gets drowsy, just fully awake and second later fast asleep. I feed her to sleeps. She usually wakes up when I burp her, it's just terrible, I am desperate for her to sleep. She naps on me and I am scared to put her down in case she wakes up, because she gets very angry when I try to resettle her
My baby slept 29 minutes to the second for 14 months LOL. It’s tiring. Also breastfed. I probably could very accurately count to 29 minutes in my head it’s that engrained 😅
Hi Shan! You are doing such an amazing job! My daughter was exactly as you have described Halle with her sleep! I did an online course which was focussed on stopping feeding to sleep. It made such a difference to us as previous to that I had to rock or feed my daughter to sleep. Google sleep well with Hannah love and it’s the stop feeding to sleep course, think it was £50ish. Worth it for us x
I know it’s not a perfect solution but as I also have a 3 month old and as she wakes up after 30-40minutes, then I go into her room and rock her to get her back into the sleep and she sleeps another 45 minutes. It’s not ideal but at least she has one longer nap ;)
I had to cut back on caffeine to help both my littles sleep when breastfeeding. Also something that might help is one of those baby swings are you can pop it in the living room for day naps and I know it’s not recommended but I did it with all three and when your sleep deprived needs must. 🤍
@@HomeWithShan it’s hard for sure but I found it helped tremendously with their sleep. Took a while tho to get the caffeine out of my system but once it had both went some waking up to wake once a night and naps were a dream. 🤍
Also…your energy is next level! When my baby falls asleep and my toddler is not here I absolutely lay doing nothing 😅
I think Halle is just a normal sleeper for her age, George was apparently a unicorn baby…lucky you 😂❤️

Ahh thank you Hayley!! It is honestly really reassuring to know 🥰 but gutted that huckleberry isn’t free anymore 😅😅xxx

I'd drop to maybe 3 naps a day, 4 at a push. Change the setting on Huckleberry to 3 or 4 nap days and it'll tailor the recommended times xx

I love seeing your huckleberry screen. I’m a few weeks ahead of you and Halle is following the same patterns as my son for sleep

Hi, do you have a link for the learning tower please?
Where did you get the coffee machine from? ❤
