    Don’t apologise for the MSG, if people are searching Chinese takeaway recipes on RUclips they need to respect the methods used to get their favourite dish.

      Why is everyone mad at MSG, they be drinking drink eating foods with flavor enhancers

    • @josh2045
      @josh2045 3 года назад +3

      @@johnwick-ip7gr because people are idiots and associate the headache they get after a takeaway with the MSG; not the fact they are eating high amounts of salt, sugar when they are likely already dehydrated from drinking coffee and sugary drinks over water.
      Oh and because of an American study carried out, where researchers injected large quantities of MSG into the stomachs of baby mice, found that they suffered illness from it. Shocker! 🤷‍♂️

    Another of my favourite dishes covered. I certainly don't mind that it is fast food rather than gourmet, as let's face it, we all have so many demands on our time these days that having a good repertoire of fast, tasty, healthy food we can cook is great. Save the slow cooking for the weekend or the sunday roast. The freezer tip was great, because to be honest, sometime preparing and slicing the meat takes longer than the cooking does. Doing a batch when I have time and freezing portions is fantastic.
    So true about the sesame oil - it astonishes me when anyone tries to cook with it, as it is literally something you add right at the end of cooking for flavour. If sesame oil gets too hot it just burns and the flavour is ruined. I do sometimes use groundnut oil rather than vegetable oil though, as I find it can just take that bit more heat without burning when you need the wok really hot.

    • @LulaJake

      there are two types of sesame oil. refined sesame oil is perfectly fine for high temps. You are thinking of toasted sesame seed oil. mainly used for dressing at the end.

    I love Chinese takeaway... just watching my second video and working my way through the rest !!! Nice presentation style, fun and relaxing - nice one. Definitely going to be trying these out for myself. Hoping to find my favourite shredded chilli beef in here somewhere... Subbed. Cheers Andy 👍👍👍

    I’ve been cooking with a wok since I was in my teens, egg fried rice was an occasional treat and was another world of flavour to my British roots of bangers and mash/roasts and fish’n’chips etc. I watched Ken Hom’s hot wok with wide eyes every week! I had to try my hand at this style of cooking. I could cook things like lasagne, Indian curries etc as well as the “English” food well enough by the time I was out of school my parents rarely cooked a dinner during the week.
    Thank you for making these videos in such a way that we can see the process from start to finish. Chinese cooking can be very simple but it’s all the better for its simplicity. I hope to try a few of these out soon!

    Your videos are a revelation. I made your chicken chow mein for my daughter and her fiance last night. They loved it. MSG is worth its weight in gold.
