Although I can appreciate a log home, I never considered one. I always found them too dark, however, this light wood interior I like. Nicely done.

Buy the land, design the home, have it delivered, set it up, hook up the utils, finish work, done. Better built than most on-sights and a lot safer and wind resistant. 1 day vs 6 mos. No comparison.
Love how the guy is standing on the top of a step ladder when hooking up the roof, lol. I even noticed the ladder wobbling as he was putting it in place.
Good job and well done video, shows the setup without getting to long, I have put these buildings together and Cozy does a great job and rarely does something not fit !!

Imagine that.....you drive down this lovely wooded road in the morning, to your job. In the evening you return and think you've lost your way, coz, Whammo! there's a complete log house where there were no houses just a few hours ago! :D
agree! we watched a regular modular being put in many years ago. it was interesting to watch. now that we are empty nesters it's time for a log modular in the mts. of nc. Plus it's quicker then building one on site from scratch

Modulars are 100% better than stick built. Instead of wood or logs dumped on the ground at the jobsite, the materials are in a climate controlled environment and everything is made square and plumb instead of eyelined.

WE live in the Northeast. Our Grandchildren just got 17 acres from his (Our grandson in-laws) grandmother. He plans to build a log cabin via a kit on the land ( this land reminded me of their land with trees etc . There was a house before where they plan to build it. But I think personally having it done this way would be nice and better as it is a large job. My son builds with a company large schools and buildings as such and used to build homes but he lives in Plattsburgh now and would not be able to help him too much to build. I know they want my husband and I to move closer and they "think" we can just sell our home and move.
We know too well you need wells, and Septic and it must be "perked" and land fixed first and basement in and ( electric of course, but it does have that) so very much in order to just get to the point of having home brought in. So it is a big endeavor for us. My husband is now 72 yrs and I am 69 yrs and just not sure about all of this? I love seeing how this is done. Great idea. Something to consider. But we must sell our home and get rid of many things and yet do miss our family. They have two little children.

If pre-constructed in a factory, I would think expansion or shrinkage may occur once built in the outdoors. Nice idea, too bad in the USA and not Canada.
Actually, the opposite is true. Using kiln-dried wood is typical in all construction, but on-site this nice dry wood typically gets wet and swells due to rain & snow exposure before it is covered. This moisture is then trapped in the walls or ceilings, and as it slowly dries out over the next while it causes "settling". Our homes experience very little (if any) settling, as the wood we use stays dry, and only the materials that are treated for exterior use are exposed to the weather.

Beautiful I went to the website and looked at the tour. I LOVE the 28x48 Mountaineer Deluxe exactly how it is in the tour except with wood ceiling in the master. I don't like the white.. My husband is emailing you and we look forward to hearing from you. Looking to put one in Balsam mts. nc

Fireplaces can easily be added on-site by a local contractor. The masonry is not something that can be added in the factory prior to delivery.

The main floor and loft/2nd story space came to 2,340 sq ft. If you include the 1,680 sq ft full basement it adds up to 4,020 combined.

who handles the water/sewer/electric hookup to the municipality in which the home will be located? Does the house come with a warranty of some kind?
The water, sewer, and electric hookups are handled by local tradesmen in your area. And yes, these homes are fully warranted for the 1st year by us as the manufacturer, then typically warranted further by the local dealer that handles the installation in your area.

Are these cheaper than traditional stick-built home?
In many cases they are less expensive than a comparable site-built home. But there are also a lot of other advantages, such as being able to build a higher quality home in a controlled environment and being able to overlap the construction of the home and the construction of the foundation for a quicker build.

Yes. We build custom homes for your property. These homes are designed to last generations, with proper maintenance of the exterior.

Yes, we can prepare the home for your fireplace. The masonry work will then be added on-site by a local contractor.

Can someone get a mortgage for a log cabin?
Yes. They are financed via a Construction Loan, which then converts to a traditional mortgage when construction is complete.
Are the outside logs of the home treated / sealed ??
Yes. The exterior stain is factory installed.

The foundation and site work is done by a local contractor. Does it have to be that light wood color? Is there an option for it to be darker?!??
We offer the standard clear finish on the knotty pine, or white painted planks. If you want it stained, we can let the clear coat off and you could stain it on-site.
How long do they take to build?
We typically have a lead time of approx. 6 months from time of order until delivery. Actual construction time in the factory is less than 4 weeks.

Now do you guys do the electrical work
We complete all the electrical inside the home, including lights & ceiling fans. All you need to do on-site is provide power to the electrical panel.
Are modular log homes constructed with real logs?
"Modular" is the method of building the home off-site, then delivering it in large pieces. So just like site-built log homes, modular log homes could be built with solid logs or with framed walls with a log facing. Here at Cozy Cabins we build all our homes with 2x6 framed walls with an exterior log facing and knotty pine interiors. We feel this gives the best of both worlds: You get the rustic log cabin look without sacrificing the energy efficiency of an insulated wall.
