You were saying along the tree line the yield is down. Back when I was farming I had the need for a rock digger so I built one. I had a AC 7040 tractor to pull it with. The one 20 acre piece I I dug rocks for 2days and it took a week to haul them off. It worked really well so I got to thinking I had trees along the edge of the field so I decided to drop the tines into the ground and make a few passes along the 30 ft beside the tree line. The following year I saw a big improvement in yield because the moisture sucking roots were all cut. Something to think about
When I was a kid, my Dad always referred to it as fast time and slow time, but never changed his clock nor the one in the dairy barn. He also said if people want more daylight, get up earlier. I prefer the summer hours, and time is a man made thing.
@@TheGrumpyFarmer I do too. Either we convince other people to get up earlier, or just leave clocks at Daylight Savings Time. I don't expect either with the government involved. 🙄

Combines are the most gratifying thing when they're working right or the biggest nightmare when they're not. My Grandfather never cussed unless dealing with his combine. I really loved picking corn for him but didn't like cutting beans for some reason. Man I miss my granddad! Hats off for what you farmers do
We tried year round DST time and there were problems. In winter children were walking to school and bus stops in the dark. There was an increase in auto pedestrian accidents and child kidnappings/abductions because of the darkness. If we're going to stay with standard time then we'll miss the longer summer evenings. It seems that the longer summer evenings encouraged more spending which contributed to the economy. One shoe just doesn't fit both feet.
Congrats on getting through another season!! Sounds like they are finally trying to make things right with the combine, which is great, but its embarrassing how long it took them to take further action. Maybe its a ground wire? I HATE the time change too.

Yes, it could be a wire. My new John Deere 5060E has 4.4 hrs and would not start up the other day. The implement folks came and picked it up, had it 3 weeks. They said a squirrel or squirrels chewed through the wires. Unbelievable! One more thing, I'm in agreement with you, day lights savings needs to be ended, Arizona doesn't have daylight savings!
Going under the power line and having the radio act up is a good piece of information. NH should bring out a good working combine and drive it around that field. If it also acts up there is a big problem with that model. If it doesn't act up its something with your combines electrical system.
The gremlins in your combine could be caused by the battery. My buddy bought a new pickup that was plagued with gremlins. After several dealership visits they changed the battery, and no more problems. Enjoyed the video.
Nice to see the last swath or round to end the season. Used to like daylight savings time when I worked out and wanted to get things done on the farm after work. Like you say if they aren’t going to call you back shut down their voicemail, don’t waste everyone’s time leaving messages

Chipmunks are bastards as well. With all that grain around your place it is hard to be rodent free!
What the use of an auger wagon when you don't dump on the go? You just as well be dumping in the truck on the end. Looks like it would take an extra person and an extra tractor driving around burning fuel.
We dump on the go a lot I was dumping on the cart there while Barb and John went and got the trucks and without a cart. We’d be putting a lot of hours on the combine traveling to the trucks.
Damn you are good. Really enjoy your videos. NH seams to admit they have a problem with your machine so why don’t they just rewire the damn thing in the off season. I had problems with MF years ago. I did things that should NOT have done. Long story short I received a new combine. Keep after the higher ups. 🤢
At the very top inside the bins, there’s a spinner that goes around and distributes the grain but it never distributes it very equally so when one side is higher, you try and turn it off, so it’s angled to let the grain spill towards the low side to bring it up

Or all of us fried alive before retirement...if you can retire. Welcome to the Biden Banana Republic. Stay safe and stay grumpy my friend.
Always staying grumpy
