We just had are budget meeting for are town and only one person showed up and it was the town chairman's wife. It was sad to see that nobody gets involved with government meetings especially ones that the people are supposed to vote to approve the budget. Then they bitch why their taxes go up. Our county legislature meetings, and committee meetings are on RUclips go look them up. Cayuga County legislature they don’t get shit for views people don’t show up to the meetings in person which is why most people across this country are so uninformed.
I feel the number one reason why there is such lack of involvement with going to local government meetings or going to vote is because of the corrupt leadership in Washington and what going on there and it is looked at what is done in local government in cities and towns also so most look at it out don't pay to get involved for most feel their votes don't count so they don't go. People need to shut off the propaganda machine the TV and get involved with your local government meetings and services for it's the last place your voice is heard yet. In Ohio the urban areas dictated the outcome(s) of issues 1(abortion) and 2(recreational marijuana). Our rural conservative area was a solid no on both. Sooner or later I can only hope that people wake up to the fact that liberal politics is going to be the end of life as we know it. In township races, the outcomes are sometimes decided by just a few votes...indicating the importance of exercising the right to vote.

Many elections have gone in favor of Democrats in the last few years. It's all because of turnout. I would say that is the main reason why the state I'm in, Georgia, has turned to blue over the last few years. Whether it's an "important" election or "non-important" doesn't matter... they're ALL important. We ended up with 2 Democrat Senators here in Georgia because of low turnout with people who would typically vote Republican... pure and simple. Your vote doesn't count only if you don't go out and do it.

The local elections are the most important vote you can cast as far as personal influence and determining your wishes. You pick committee members and Legislators that are “ supposed to” vote for constituents wishes. Those pick state and national elections choices. Here in Oswego county most are unopposed often. The few Dems leg here are fiscally conservative trying to reign in the republicans incredible spending. I am a Republican myself. We just had are budget meeting for are town and only one person showed up and it was the town chairman's wife. It was sad to see that nobody gets involved with government meetings especially ones that the people are supposed to vote to approve the budget. Then they bitch why their taxes go up. Well if you don't vote then don't complain.
Our county legislature meetings, and committee meetings are on RUclips go look them up. Cayuga County legislature they don’t get shit for views people don’t show up to the meetings in person which is why most people across this country are so uninformed.
I feel the number one reason why there is such lack of involvement with going to local government meetings or going to vote is because of the corrupt leadership in Washington and what going on there and it is looked at what is done in local government in cities and towns also so most look at it out don't pay to get involved for most feel their votes don't count so they don't go. People need to shut off the propaganda machine the TV and get involved with your local government meetings and services for it's the last place your voice is heard yet. And if people want change it needs to start locally for it damm well won't happen in Washington.

@@TheGrumpyFarmer Yes that is true; however it does help a lot having the technology based in house. There's a lot less hoops to jump through that way. Hoping your harvest is treating you well; this year has been unpredictable to say the least.

In Ohio the urban areas dictated the outcome(s) of issues 1(abortion) and 2(recreational marijuana). Our rural conservative area was a solid no on both. Sooner or later I can only hope that people wake up to the fact that liberal politics is going to be the end of life as we know it. In township races, the outcomes are sometimes decided by just a few votes...indicating the importance of exercising the right to vote.

Many elections have gone in favor of Democrats in the last few years. It's all because of turnout. I would say that is the main reason why the state I'm in, Georgia, has turned to blue over the last few years. Whether it's an "important" election or "non-important" doesn't matter... they're ALL important. We ended up with 2 Democrat Senators here in Georgia because of low turnout with people who would typically vote Republican... pure and simple.

The local elections are the most important vote you can cast as far as personal influence and determining your wishes. You pick committee members and Legislators that are “ supposed to” vote for constituents wishes.
Those pick state and national elections choices.
Here in Oswego county most are unopposed often.
The few Dems leg here are fiscally conservative trying to reign in the republicans incredible spending. I am a Republican myself.

You only have two rights in this life, to draw breathe and as child to be nurtured and protected by your parents. Everything else has to earned or fought for. That includes the rights to vote but also everything else. The political machine, industrial complex and the elites rely on the apathy of voters, well I say disappoint them and turn up and vote.
