My corn snake Spot grew from 18 inches to 6 ft in 20 years. He was in a long 90 gal tank and teased my cats. He would weave back and forth while the cats pawed the glass and then move to another side. He had them following him all around the tank for a good hour before going to his hide. He sneezed too. His entire body jumped when he did. Usually after digging through the bedding. He now lives with a herpetologist because l have severe arthritis and could no longer care for him properly. He is still alive after 23 years and healthy.
I am so sorry you had to give up your snake. But you must have done an awesome job, because 23 years is quite something! My corm snake is also a permanent attraction to my cats, it's so funny how they sit watching and chase from ome side to the other and the snake just going about like "cats? Oh yeah, whatever"
@@bexxxi2871 I've always loved snakes always wanted one but my whole life I have never been around them. I'm scared I wont do a good job of keeping it happy and it will attack me.
Idk how comfortable I would be having a garter snake, since they’re very common where I live. Not that I think that they belong in the wild or anything like that, it’s just weird to see your pet in your backyard haha
same, last year when i went into my backyard shed to grab hay for my goats (dont ask--) and theres a small, well medium plastic bin in there on the floor that was covered in loose hay, when i went to grab a block of hay that was next to the bin and i didnt notice the garter snake in the bin since it was buried under loose hay and because i accidentally scared it, it ended up accidentally scaring me when it moved so quickly, so for that split second i thought it was a copperhead since i find them in my back fields, the snakes in my shed. backyard and back fields should be happy with the mouse supply tho, theres ALOT of mice on my property, so i dont think any of them are under weight, from what ive seen tho, i also wouldnt be surprised if i found baby garters in my shed since its always humid in there
@@Zero_Is_Stopping_Time Would the authorities be able to tell it's a native species if it was a morph? I would think they should be encouraged. A morph means you either got it captive bread, you are breeding them yourself and may be able to help the species, or it's an anomaly and wouldn't have lasted long in the wild anyways. Also unlike non-natives there are no risks if it escapes (to the ecosystem at least; obviously there's usually a reason wild animals are the colors they are and the Animal it's self may not last long).
I have a question.... do snakes use their tongues to drink? This sounds stupid, but since they smell with their tongue.. Idk if they drink with it, too.
Big warning about corn snakes: they are master escape artists. Always make sure their tank/tub is secure or they'll find a way out. And they are excellent at hiding. I've had several corn snakes and every single one has escaped at some point. Edit: Still the best beginner snake tho.
After rescuing a garter snake from a sticky trap, I was immediately in love. I went on RUclips to look for more information on snakes, and this was the first video I saw. From there, I've fallen in love with your channel- watched hours upon hours of videos, become a Patron, bought merch, and am already planning my trip to the facility when I move to the US. Thank you, Ed and Emily, for changing my life. 💜
I asked my mother for a snake and I thought she was going to say no, so I told her and she said, ok I like snakes xd. Now I have a snake, and it has been my first pet .

@@maeveg.2660 yea, i did not, i did a bunch of research before buying my snake, its just that i did research on corn snakes as a species than doing research on the bloodred ones. looking back, i should probably have done research on the different types as well, but i did get everything i need to know before taking him home, its just that i did not get much information on the bloodreds, sorry if i did not mention that in my comment
Your fine just look up what to do to naturally boosts it's immune system. There are ways and also they look the coolest! 👍 Also look up to make sure you introduce nothing into it's habitat that can cause any probs. Easy peasy.
This was a reupload on purpose this time :P The previous version got taken down after 3 hours so I could make a small (but essential) edit, but RUclips stopped processing it so I had to reupload it altogether. If you were one of the lucky few who heard the mistake, you'll understand why it was neccessary to edit it out ;)
@Jane Doe take him off for about two weeks. And when you start feeding him again start him small and then over the course of a month work him back up to his regular size
Just some Karen with internet access Imagine if snakes can go completely straight up like some scally bean pole and you find out your snake is taller than you.
The snake I'm currently most interested in grows past six feet, and I'm just thinking of those Great Danes that stand up and are taller then their owners. Less drool in a snake though, big plus.
When purchasing ball pythons, be careful, because balls with a 'spider' gene (the one in the video has the gene in it I think) can have severe neurological issues which causes a head wobble and corkscrewing.
@@abeg9959 When owning one with spider gene it means the disorientation can cause it to injure itself. Mostly it's when feeding; the snake will srike at the food, but because of the issues it can miss and strike the ground the walls of its enclosure, or I've even known ne to miss, flip, then bite and coil itself. Luckily it got saved. There are less severe cases, but in some of the worse ones it's absolutely aweful to see them try and scope just to have their head flailing around wildly...
Lemonblast is pastel + pinstripe. There's no spider gene in there. But other genes w/ neurological problems include champagnes and hidden gene womas/HGW.
This is an old comment but lemon blast doesn’t have spider in it. It looks like spider but is actually pinstripe and pastel mixed to make lemon blast. It’s one of my favorite morphs cause it has a cool pattern without the harm.
Im trying to get a corn snake but to me they're too long and they move around too much, but knowing me I'm going to get one, I also never had a snake before so I'm kind of nervous

Just be confident and be sure you're ready to house a pet. Think of it like getting a baby: they’re gonna need special food that costs, a lot of attention, health bills take a toll on your wallet even for the regular checkups twice a year, they need a large designated space for living, and they are a long term commitment. Do your research not just to prove yourself to your folks, but because a new life is in your hands.
I'm curious to know which one your parents prefer (or are less passionately against, as the case may be). On the one hand, they may be afraid of snakes. On the other hand, at least snakes don't need a big yard or daily walks.
@@lillie5529 for the last month i try to git a pet in home and my mom barely agree on birds(i dont want them any more ) and no she dont love cats and dogs but snake is a hole new story that i need to talk with her on
Garter snakes are all too often overlooked. They are my absolute favourite snake. They are active, fun to watch, and they seem to have a bit of curiosity as they explore their environment.
Warning to everyone after seeing the last little clip: very controversial subject but spider morphs are notorious for having neurological issues. it's incredibly rare to find a spider morph fully lacking in neurological issues (and it's genetic so it's not curable like vitamin deficiencies are), if you have a spider, it really just depends on how severe. it can range to a head wobble to full balance issues to coordination issues (the latter can lead to incorrect strikes so they cant get their food and possibly latch to a hand or to themselves), they also might not be able to right themselves when upside down or accidentally drown themselves. You can make the decision on whether or not to buy this morph but it's rarely spoken about by the breeder and can lead to the snake needing to be re-homed if you aren't prepared and the issues get worse. Just make sure you do lots of research into your morphs because some (like the corn morph Emily showed) have some issues to them like bad immune systems, be prone to kinks, have neurological issues, or other health issues.
This is why you should always research a morph or breed of animal, just in general. I plan on getting a corn snake in the future, and I don't have any plans for a morph but if I stumble upon a morph that I decide I'd like, I'll do research on it BEFORE purchasing, just to be sure I don't unintentionally get an animal that has genetic issues, as I'm certain I wouldn't be ready for that quite yet, being as it will be my first snake.
The really sad thing about this is that giant snake channels and alot of breeders are trying to defend the breeding of these snakes after the recent ban of them in the UK.It's really sad to see alot of these "great" reptile channels defend these mutations that cripple the snake over profit.
i was gonna mention it because it looked like some type of spider morph. Like you said, it's the buyers decision in the end but i feel like the breeders should at least be required by law to inform the buyers before hand
@ιη мү ωαү Me neither, I asked my parents if I could get a Kenyan Sand Boa, and they said no cause they think that it’s gonna kill them in their sleep.
My first snake was a corn snake and my second a kenyan sand boa. Such different snakes!! Absolutely fell in love with both of them. The cornsnake is no longer of this world but I still have my ksb and she makes me so happy. :)
it must be the species because the ones that I have found in the garden as a kid have been quite friendly. Then again if you mind people you probably aren't living in a small child's garden.
I have heard others call them garden snakes. I've caught many (and released them in under an hour) and never been bitten. I like to look at them, but I wasn't allowed to keep them as a child, and just got in the habit of releasing them before I became an adult. The last one pooped on me; I'd caught it to show it to my son, and it was the first to poop on me and the last I even tried to catch! (laugh, I did, I still do) I remember when I was 10 putting one in a jar to show my brother and sister, but that is the only one I ever put into a container, and it was maybe for 5 minutes max.
Right after I saw this video, I reached out to a friend who's a cornsnake breeder. Got sweet little Seungi and it's been such a joy to have. She's such an easy going snake who also have a big goofy personality. Thanks guys!
Glad to see it's back up. It was very responsible of you to make the edit even though it might hurt the video's performance. You are amazing! Give Ed a hard time for me :)
So glad I found this channel. So informative! I’ve been wanting a snake for a while and this channel has taught me a lot, so it’s easier to decide what to get . Thank you 😊
I ended up ignoring everyone saying what was a good starter snake and got a 5 1/2 foot Columbian red-tail boa and it has been the best decision I have ever made :)
Ugh, I've always thought that was so stupid! >_< I'm a Christian myself, yet I find that belief stupid and frustrating. First of all, that was ONE snake. One! Not every snake in existence! Secondly, Satan shapeshifted into a snake; he wasn't born one, so does it even count? I am so sorry your dad won't let you get a snake just because some guy shapeshifted into one for evil purposes. My parents are similar in a way: They watch a lot of those courtroom shows like Judge Judy and The People's Court, and a lot of dog attack related cases are about pit bulls. My older brother has been wanting a dog for a while, and the only dogs he seems to form that special connection with (you know, where you see an animal for adoption, and it just kind of clicks, and you know in your heart it's the right pet for you? Yeah, that feeling) are pit bulls. But my parents don't like that because of the stigma. Heck, one time, I told my mom that if she did actual research, she'd see that my brother and I were right, and you know what she said? "I don't want to do research." I said, "Okay, that's not a good attitude to have about ANYTHING." -_- *sigh* So, yeah. My brother can't get a dog partly because of some stigma. Literally the only good reason I can think of for our parents refusing to let us get a pit bull is because some insurance companies (including ours, I think) raise prices if you have a pit bull. But like I said, that's not the only reason they said no. Maybe try telling your dad the points I gave you above? You know, the ones about why associating all snakes with the Devil makes no logical sense? See how it goes? I mean, if you really want a snake, you may as well try, right?
Ball Pythons be like: “:3” My dad used to have one. He didn’t give him an actual name but we called him Turtle because he would always hide under a bowl with his head poking out.
Before I knew how bad PetSmart was for reptiles and bought a corn snake for 75 bucks! They also told me to get a ten gallon tank, with a heat pad and a lamp with both red and blue bulbs. I did my research before but there's so much out there I couldn't sort through it all. Since then I've gotten rid of the red light and my little corn is happy. Thankful for channels like this that give out good info... Wish I found it sooner!
Thank you guys! I got my first corn snake a couple of weeks ago, he's called Alphonse and is keeping me company in quarantine. Been a major boost to my mental health.

i was 9 when my parents got me my first snake, a beautiful male ball python (Huge in my opinion) like 3-4 feet, i loved him so much. when i'm older i'm getting another Python
I got my first snake pretty much by accident, a couple weeks ago I found a water snake at my local marina with one scratched up eye that was all clouded over. We brought it home and put it in a ten-gallon (she's still a lil baby) and now she's my little affectionate boop noodle. :p
After years of asking we finally got a snake, and she is so beautiful, I love her, she's a charcoal corn snake with lavender accents and she is amazing.
Oh, I'd love to see pics! However, the only way would either be email, share with Emily so she can share, or Twitter (which I consider useless, but I have an account because one of my favorite authors tells when he is releasing a book on Twitter). Please reply if you are willing to share your pics.

I had a corn snake when I was younger, we saved it from my neighbors shovel in their garage. They had mice in their garage too so I wasn’t surprised it was in there. I also wouldn’t be surprised if somebody had let it go when it was their pet because of how docile it was.
I just got a Corn snake and been going through all of your videos to make my baby happy! Thank you so much for all of the information throughout all of your videos!
I just waited till I moved out. But there are different people. Maybe trying telling them that the cute snake will mainly remain in his/her terrirumm and take it out when your folks are not around. You can also say that they are easy to maintain....basic needs are water, a hide, and bedding. Cheaper than feeding my dog, lol.
Show them you're responsible enough to take care of it, write a paper or do a powerpoint on their care guidelines, and how much it'll cost per month to take care of this animal. A list of supplies you'll need and then save up the money to get it yourself - show them you're going to take care of it. THEN if they still say no, don't pester them about it, wait till you get your own place and have the resources to care for it, make sure you understand the responsibility you're taking on.
I have a small budget too, but I have a corn snake and a ball python (and crayfish and a jumping spider). Once you have the setup and supplies, care is pretty affordable. Food is the most frequent routine expense. I typically spend $38.16 on food per month (for the snakes only, not including the other pets I mentioned).
Because of you and your love for reptiles I got a cornsnake and we called him Noodle! Recently I’ve also gotten a granite spotted python and watched it eat, we named her Bou as like a Chinese food thingy!😆
Species*** not breed. Breeds are different variants of domesticated animals usually associated with dogs but I guess you could also call different varieties of chicken or bunny/Guinea pig etc "breeds."

@@cukreni_caca It depends on where you live. I found two different places that had them in my area, and they can also be found at expos. Mexican Blacks are harder to find than Sand Boa
I've heard that sand boas are good beginner snakes and then other videos where RUclipsrs say they bite more. What's your experience? Maybe it depends on the individual snake?
@@basicbaroque this is late, but in my experience they're extremely docile ^^ i've had mine for a little over a year and she has only bitten me once (entirely my fault, i couldn't find her so i started searching a bit too roughly through the substrate) and false struck me once (headbutt). she's a very sweet little noodle, and easy to care for. I’m moving from a flat to a large house in the countryside! My dad says I can have any pets I want as we will have loads of room! I’m so exited to get some snakes so this is so helpful!
So when I was younger I called these "Guarder snakes" cause they were so friendly and I thought they were guarding us/me against mice and their diseases (Bubonic Plague, etc). Actually growing and learning, garter snakes are still one of my favorites and one of the 'sweetest' snakes you can get (Besides Ball Pythons, personal opinion...) or, in other terms, 'friendly'. In your video, you call it 'docile'. Very social species and are so easy to interact with and learn with due to their naturally social nature. (Garter snakes LOVE to be housed together for a reason... if enough space for all of them.....). Honestly, my favorite nonmammalian animal was one of the hardest to be 'close' to and it was an iguana. They are lizard cats... if you can't deal with a cat, don't get an iguana bwahaha.
oh he’s getting bigger! he finally shed three times are already and he’s been doing good with that. he’s still supper friendly. he love when people let him lest his little head on on their wrist. great little guy
My son is 7 and loves your videos. We are trying to decide on the best snake for him. He already brings in Garden Snakes from outside. They are super small and he always wants to keep them. Lol
I really want either a ball python or kenyan sand boa (not mentioned) because of availability. My friend's brother breeds sand boas so they're my top choice at the moment, plus affordability, and they're absolutely gorgeous!
christina coots i have a ball python and they’re very affordable I actually got mine for 20 dollars and at first they wont eat but they will get used to you and eat just fine and they are very maintainable just FYI
I worked at a pet store and the corn snakes were the most dramatic things ever 😂😂 I loved them but gahhh the ball pythons were always my favorite. I also had a California king that was the best snake I’ve ever had. He was so curious and active
I called it too, then I was like... garter snakes will be on the list too. #5 Garter snakes, I was a little disappointed at being the bottom of the list, but with reasons, I didn't know their price went up so much.
@@Pip8448 yea that one caught me by surprise too, I was leaning toward a black kingsnake or a garter from previous interactions, didn't realize how pricey tho! Still, the long term savings due to them being good eaters and taking basically whatever as long as it's enough sustenance... Could balance that out? And then you're left with just a fantastic fun to handle lil snek
@@pivinne5536 Exotic Reptiles are illegal in Australia; the reason being due to cane toad incident and protection towards Australian Wildlife. I found this on an article and have changed the way it was formed but kept the exact same information.

You mean: That’s very unique. A Garter snake eating fish from a water bowl, interesting. Sorry I'm a spelling and grammar freak, but really just type correctly.
Just try to educate them about the reptiles you want and maybe get them to just try to feel or touch one at a local pet store so they can realize that there is nothing to fear, once they see you are so interested in the animals and do so much work to educate them they may change there minds!
greg Sockbeson I agree, that method may work for people who are ignorant on reptiles. Unfortunately it's more complicated when dealing with someone who has a phobia of reptiles, where even plastic snakes scares them.
Watching from England. I'm an older man. I had a Leopard Gecko for about 8 months but he hardly ever ate. I tried everything but he just failed to thrive. Snakes appeal greatly to me. I'm not sure which types you show are availabe here as I have only just started researching but I know Cornsnakes are so great news . Don't yet know what Cornsnakes eat but of course the internet has everything. Your presentation was helpful and engaging and I really appreciate it so thank you!
i've been wanting a snake for sooo long now, but the thought of feeding them baby mice creeps me out... especially since i own rats :(( edit: turns out i might actually get a garter snake! hahah
For those people who think that snakes are dangerous the answer is no,snakes are actually scared of people and if you find one and run away on the easiest escape route, they might follow you because the snake will also take the easiest escape route, and when they bite is mostly because their scared,so if you find a snake leave it alone :)
YES! i'm so happy that you put corn snakes at the #1 spot! they are under-appreciated in favor of ball pythons, but they're actually amazing snakes! my corn snake is my first snake, and he's so fantastic!!
Your videos are very informational and helpful. I was originally planning on buying a western hognose snake but now I’m planning on getting some of the starter snakes so then I can go from easy snakes to snakes more advanced throughout learning how to take care of them. Good progress on your channel! :D
I wouldn't call hoggies more advanced per say. In fact, they're on many beginner snake lists. That said, as an owner of a few snakes, there are two things to consider with hognoses: 1.) Their attitude. Hognoses are notorious for being dramatic and their temperament can turn on a dime. It's unlikely that they'll bite, but the false strikes and hissing can be a little unnerving if you're not expecting it. I actually use a hook to get my out, so I can gauge his mood rather than sticking my hand in to face the wrath. 😂 I wouldn't recommend them to be a first snake for kids for this reason because it might freak kids out. I usually just don't handle mine if he's having a "hissy fit." He'll level out in a day usually. 2.) The hunger strikes. Yes. They happen. Hognoses are picky. Our longest holdout was three months. That can also freak people out. This may require some creativity and tricks. We got our snake to eat using tuna juice for scenting and now he's eating like a champ. Those are really the only cons that I would say hognoses have. They're delightfully derpy and fun to watch. Their care isn't too difficult at all (in fact, they're easier than some of the snakes on the list) and they make a great pet. It's really just a matter of what you're looking for and how much research you do. It sounds like you'll be a great snake owner though regardless of what you choose! 😊
I've had a hognose snake as a starter snake and it was honestly perfectly fine. The only issue I have ever had with her was when she I found out she would get very stressed from me dangling food over her head and would stop trying to eat it if she missed even once. After I started putting the food on a lid in her cage she has been a perfect eater (and it helps keeping her from accidentally biting me as well). This along with their pickyness is why Snake Discovery seems to have taken them off their list for beginners, but tbh these are kind of the same cons as ball pythons, if anything ball pythons can be worse and more difficult to care for depending on the situation with their pickyness and hunger strikes and actually need a little more care into their humidity levels than hognoses do. They ARE quite a bit more docile though. In the end though I find hognoses are much more hardy than ball pythons if that is something you are more worried about. All in all though when deciding on a beginner snake, definitely put value into which easier snake you will like rather than which one is the easiest to take care of them all or you may end up disinvested. Also make sure to gather from a wide variety of opinions for beginner snakes! Only 5 choices from one source can be limiting. For example I don't think Snake Discovery really has any sand boas or house snakes, which are very popular beginner snakes otherwise.
Wish I had seen this earlier! My daughter binge watched snake videos and researched and we thought a Hoggy would be a good start. She is cute but is feisty and freaked out my daughter but son will hold her at times. Had a food strike but realized was due to shed, ate a few times and now in strike again likely due to winter. May try to scent the food but hate to make her more picky!
That’s a good decision. While hognose snakes are small they can be difficult because of their attitudes and hunger striking. As a first or starter snake it definitely helps to have an easy going snake to learn the basic care without having to deal with a hognose hissy!

His entire body jumped when he did. Usually after digging through the bedding. He now lives with a herpetologist because l have severe arthritis and could no longer care for him properly. He is still alive after 23 years and healthy.
Deb Ketelsen my snow corn sneezed three times in the time I have it and still have it the only sound he made I never heard by female sneeze

Idk how comfortable I would be having a garter snake, since they’re very common where I live. Not that I think that they belong in the wild or anything like that, it’s just weird to see your pet in your backyard haha
same
There’s a law where I live to not be able to have snakes that are native in captivity unless you have a license
same, last year when i went into my backyard shed to grab hay for my goats (dont ask--) and theres a small, well medium plastic bin in there on the floor that was covered in loose hay, when i went to grab a block of hay that was next to the bin and i didnt notice the garter snake in the bin since it was buried under loose hay and because i accidentally scared it, it ended up accidentally scaring me when it moved so quickly, so for that split second i thought it was a copperhead since i find them in my back fields, the snakes in my shed. backyard and back fields should be happy with the mouse supply tho, theres ALOT of mice on my property, so i dont think any of them are under weight, from what ive seen tho, i also wouldnt be surprised if i found baby garters in my shed since its always humid in there
@@Zero_Is_Stopping_Time Would the authorities be able to tell it's a native species if it was a morph? I would think they should be encouraged. A morph means you either got it captive bread, you are breeding them yourself and may be able to help the species, or it's an anomaly and wouldn't have lasted long in the wild anyways. Also unlike non-natives there are no risks if it escapes (to the ecosystem at least; obviously there's usually a reason wild animals are the colors they are and the Animal it's self may not last long).

I have a question.... do snakes use their tongues to drink? This sounds stupid, but since they smell with their tongue.. Idk if they drink with it, too.
When they **drink water**
Big warning about corn snakes: they are master escape artists. Always make sure their tank/tub is secure or they'll find a way out. And they are excellent at hiding. I've had several corn snakes and every single one has escaped at some point.
Edit: Still the best beginner snake tho.
Noted, thanks

*literally my only question throughout the entire video*
“but do it bite”
Yes every snake can / does
All snakes bite in defense. After handling frequently they usually will associate you as a tree and won't bite you.
They don’t really have limbs, so all of them bite as a defense mechanism, also, most of these use biting as a last line of defense.
🤣
Some snake types are more aggressive than others, so depends on the snake. Everyone bites but not at the same amount of times.

When purchasing ball pythons, be careful, because balls with a 'spider' gene (the one in the video has the gene in it I think) can have severe neurological issues which causes a head wobble and corkscrewing.
What does that technically mean when owning a snake?
+1
This is an old comment but lemon blast doesn’t have spider in it. It looks like spider but is actually pinstripe and pastel mixed to make lemon blast. It’s one of my favorite morphs cause it has a cool pattern without the harm.

Most people actually think it's head bobbing (Due to the issues) is cute. Smdh
i was gonna mention it because it looked like some type of spider morph. Like you said, it's the buyers decision in the end but i feel like the breeders should at least be required by law to inform the buyers before hand

"I don't want to do research." I said, "Okay, that's not a good attitude to have about ANYTHING." -_-
*sigh* So, yeah.

Me, an adult: my bank account won't let me get a snake
feel the struggle
You're still alive. You could have easily gotten a boring snake
I relate to this. Not the being an adult part, but only not having a snake because of lack of budget
I have a small budget too, but I have a corn snake and a ball python (and crayfish and a jumping spider). Once you have the setup and supplies, care is pretty affordable. Food is the most frequent routine expense. I typically spend $38.16 on food per month (for the snakes only, not including the other pets I mentioned).
my parents won’t let me get one and i’m broke so
I wanna get a snake, and name it Spaghetti.
That's my life goal.
I named mine snek... My friend said I shouldn't name other animals

Because of you and your love for reptiles I got a cornsnake and we called him Noodle! Recently I’ve also gotten a granite spotted python and watched it eat, we named her Bou as like a Chinese food thingy!😆
How much does it cost usually to feed it
I love Snakes i was looking for a breed to start off with! This Really helped me!!

Species*** not breed. Breeds are different variants of domesticated animals usually associated with dogs but I guess you could also call different varieties of chicken or bunny/Guinea pig etc "breeds."

Yeah me too!
Its such a good list to. I started with a ball python and then got a corn snake. After getting Smaug my corn snake I wish I had started with her. Its like easy mode for learning to care for snakes. Enjoy your first danger noodle!
I wrote a page on how to care for a corn snake and how much it would cost for my mom so I could prove I know how to take care of one. My mom is *terrified* of snakes but she said one month of chores = me getting a corn snake!!!! I cant wait to get my own little boop noodle (or as my mom puts it, danger noodle)

I just got a Ball because me and my dad used to have one(rescued) she got too big and super large tanks are super expensive.
I hate you fetus fingers my mom won’t ever allow me to get a corn snake and I have been asking since I was three now I’m nine
@@roniettaprinsloo5529 well if it makes you feel any better I never got a corn snake but instead a couple months later I got a bearded dragon. Hopefully some day I’ll get a snake and so will you (:
I want pet snake(s) so badly! But I know I don't have the proper equipment to take care of them at the moment (cause I'm poor af lol). One day though! Just gotta keep positive and hopefully I will have my dreams come true :)
So for now, watching these videos are the closest I'm gonna get to having a pet snake; plus I get to be educated at the same time, so I can take care of them properly once the time comes.
Ash Ü dude I feel you. Past couple of years I’ve been getting as much info as possible for when I’m finally able to get one.
I have so much respect for you, so many people would just get the pet anyway just because they wanted it, which is really selfish
Ash Ü yeah me too. My dad is scared of snakes but I know I want one, so I keep doing my research while I wait until I’m able to get my permanent house!
Your videos really inspire my daughter to get a snake and we think they ur advice and tips really make us look footed to getting a snake

And the burrow just saying.
Not really, theyre not that easy to find
(though pretty morphs can get a little pricey- i got mine for $180)
I’m moving from a flat to a large house in the countryside! My dad says I can have any pets I want as we will have loads of room! I’m so exited to get some snakes so this is so helpful!
Cool!
Meow
I love iguanas and really want one but youtube is telling me not to get one, i have 4 cats should i get a 5th reptile cat? Lol lil dinosaur cat
You know, I find it so damn cute how Hognoses borrow.

Ditto! It was my first!
Very good list! The only problem is that I live in Australia, and all these species are illegal in Australia. Oof

Same. And not just snakes, all reptiles.
So much for a chameleon as a pet.
Just try to educate them about the reptiles you want and maybe get them to just try to feel or touch one at a local pet store so they can realize that there is nothing to fear, once they see you are so interested in the animals and do so much work to educate them they may change there minds!
Morgan Russell Yep

I agree, that method may work for people who are ignorant on reptiles.
Unfortunately it's more complicated when dealing with someone who has a phobia of reptiles, where even plastic snakes scares them.

@@fionawang6202 I think the OP was being funny....
That said, as an owner of a few snakes, there are two things to consider with hognoses:
1.) Their attitude.
