Gosh, i could hardly believe it when the stylist said to Joma's face 4:39 "you're always finding fault with every dress". No wonder the client immediately burst into tears , I would too if a consultant said something so judgmental to me. This consultant needs to reflect on why she chose to blame her customer and make her wrong for not liking what the consultant had picked out. Joma clearly didnt like either of the first 2 dresses and her instincts were right; the OTT glam style looked so stifling and old-school on her -- and so matronly -- whereas the 3rd and last dress looked modern,light, and youthful, with an organic prettiness. I'm glad Joma found a style that really reflected her personality.
100% she did find fault. That's cos they were not right for her. Assistant should not have made out it was the bride's fault. The dress she chose was perfect.

This shop tends to make these stupid comments. It is her day and it she takes her time that is her prerogative. Rushing people in to things is ridiculous! Not sure she picked the final dress for the right reason. Poor girl! I would have put her in a fit and flair to show off her lovely figure, but give her a bit of comfort.
Joma did not say anything nice about herself and that is what consultant addressed. Had she brought any other dress and not make the comment, Joma would never find a dress for herself.
The consultant was quite rude in this episode. I can’t believe she said that to her and tried to mask it as concern.
I thought that too. I’d be devastated if a dresser said that to me and I feel more pressured than ever 😥

yes very passive-aggressive. It should always be about the bride - and patience is the virtue required as well as the reassurance that we will find the one together. She was really hands-on too!

The consultant saying ‘I’m just afraid it’s you. You always find fault in every dress.’ And then being surprised bride cried. That dress had a poor fit on top. Bride was right to voice her concern.
This awful shop always shames brides for not liking a dress. Focus is always on sell expensive and sell quick, never the bride.
I agree, the consultant should not have said that. Joma knew that the top part was not working for her and that's not her fault at all.
I also disliked when she asked her if she could wear a mermaid dress being fat. Many girls do it and it looks amazing
IKR! These brides are spending a lot of money on their dresses so they should be 100% happy with them. She shouldn't settle on a dress just to make some salesperson happy.

What she said is, "I'm just concerned for you that you're always finding fault in every dress." Since the bride had admitted to trying on 30 dresses so far it is a legitimate concern. If the consultant is saying that after the second dress in this shop then I think voicing that concern is premature. But, this being a clip from a full show we have no idea how many she has tried on. The consultant's comment is easily taken out of context.

She was absolutely right! The consultant was stupid to question her instinct. She didn't like that second dress and I hated it too. She knew what she wanted. Good for her.
As a 30 year professional wedding planner, I can attest to the fact that one of the most difficult challenges in the planning of a wedding is making sure the bride finds a dress which makes her feel fabulous. Body image issues are real and are not limited to being overweight. Anorexia, eating disorders, obesity and low self-esteem can all play a tremendous role in making or breaking the wedding dress appointment. This is why I always spend time getting to know my brides and personally accompanying them and their entourage to purchase the dress. It is amazing to see what impartial words from an unbiased professional third-party can do to make a bride feel like a princess, no matter her size or weight. Every bride deserves to feel like a princess on her wedding day!

She has a fabulous figure and looked great in all three dresses. I wish, though, that they would have tried her in a dress that gradually flared from top/mid hip (a dropped waist?) as I think that would have shown off her lovely waist even more, without restricting her movement as the first dress did.

They were disrespecting her because her budget was £1,200. Any bride with £3,000 upwards is treated much better at David Emmanuel's 🙄

@@queenicedcoffee4217 To create drama for their show. They decide beforehand who is going to be the "sweet bride", who is going to be the "bossy demanding bride" and then edit their footage to make them look how they want. I prefer the Lancashire version without all this drama.
My guess is she tried on more than 2 before the "second" dress. Maybe her 22nd. It's TV.
Um the phrase "I'm just concerned for you that you're always finding fault in every dress" is an aggressive thing to say to a bride who's not into your picks. No wonder she cried, who wants the stranger that's supposed to listen and be helpful say that in a vulnerable place like the changing room?

What a rude stylist. She needs to zip it and allow the bride to try on as many dresses necessary until she finds the one. Kindness is free.
Guaranteed Auntie Gok would have not only found the gown(s) to take her breath away - he would have also sincerely boosted her confidence level and made the experience not only enjoyable but an eye opener for her.
Update: she didn't wear this dress, but a simple strapless gown and looked very elegant. Found her on Facebook.

She was insecure and they made it worse.

I physically hurt for her everytime she saw and said something negative about her beautiful body and when she cried, I teared up. The gown she chose was perfect for her paersonality, but she looked lovely in all of them.

It’s really not often I see a woman who I genuinely think I beautiful. But she is absolutely stunning. She reminds me of my mom in her simplistic beauty and it broke my heart seeing her struggle with self love like that.

She had a bridal break down because the attendant told her she was finding things wrong w every dress. We saw it on camera. Very unprofessional. You messed up the Brides' day. And that's the real truth. It's about how the Bride feels in the dress. And she never wants to go shopping again. Again that's the attendants fault!!! If this were my show, I would have to go back and Re- edit this one. And then I would have a different attendant the next one I filmed. 👎
The dress didn’t make her emotional it was the attendant who did that. I hope she had a wonderful day. My nephew had his reception in the same place and it was stunning.

Idk why but I feel like she shortchanged herself.. like she let her insecurities choose the dress with total coverage for her.. she looked GREAT in that fishtail and probably would've done good with another, sleeker fit.. something with a lower waistline, satin, and ruching in strategic places to give her that confidence boost she REALLY needed.. Gok would've had her glowing from the inside

This version of Say Yes to the Dress with David Emmanuel and his consultants is so disappointing every time. They never put the brides in dresses that reflect what they want, they are always over budget, and they typically push the bride to a breakdown due to their rude and inconsiderate communication and gaslighting. Ugh. This isn't even entertaining anymore I just feel bad for the brides.

The consultant was rude telling her she found fault with everything. I imagine that was done for drama because no consultant would really do that. The skirt on the first one looks cheap, even if the dress is flattering. Like someone took some scissors to it. The second one was stunning. The last one kind of washed her out and sits weirdly on her hips.

She should’ve gone to Gok. He’s fantastic at guiding brides through the process of embracing their current body shapes, whether they’ve lost or gained weight, or have experienced illness or trauma. And his instincts with picking dresses always make the brides feel amazing.
This shop almost always falls flat - I wish I could block all videos from it and NY, and only get videos from Gok, the Curvy Bride boutique, and Atlanta on my feed.

The consultant's comment overstepped so much. The second dress clearly was a bad choice. A princess dress is on the extreme side of styles, and the silhouette - neither the bust fit, the spaghetti strap, nor the wide skirt - didn't flatter her figure at all, obviously. I'm not sure why they thought it would! She also explicitly said there was too much boob and the skirt didn't look sophisticated to her. These are very valid points. Just find a dress that doesn't have a drop neck and a skirt that isn't all puffy tulle. Not too much to expect. 🙄
