Bruh I been fishing there a big while and I never ever seen that fish there! Let me know when you come back down again!? That’s was a spotted trout lmao
@@chiroangler no way that’s the first I Been told different but I never fish in Galveston but that will change coming in spring break I might be traveling up there
Thanks! I tried my best. Looking hindsight, I think a jetty slip cork would have worked better. I looked up how deep it is on the beach side of the jetty, >17 feet deep.
@@chiroangler Oh whoa that is deep! The last time I went fishing I started up high fishing a bobber like you . Never got any hits then made my leader longer till to about 6 ft and bam the fish started hitting. I need to learn how to do that slip bobber you speaking of.
Ribbon fish are an Asian delicacy. Fishing at Seawolf Park before, they were keeping all the ribbon fish caught. 🎣🐠🐋 Ask one guy are they good to eat, he said yes. 😳 One man"s trash, another man's food.💯
I've been using the legacy rods for quite some time now and they perform well in both fresh and saltwater. I just make sure that I rinse the guides after each trip to maintain. I still consider myself a novice angler so I use budget gear to learn. One day I might buy some really nice higher end equipment, but for now this works. Thanks for watching!
Nice video brother much love from Brownsville texas 🔥
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
You fish bro? I’m from Brownsville too
I go to the jetties a lot, the channels, the surf

Great video. Fished same area but not that far out but I will
Next time.
Thanks for watching! Good luck!
Ribbon fish. Great kingfish bait
Yes, I've heard that before! I'll have to try more jetty fishing, maybe surfside.
Is it free to go out on the jetty?
Yes it is free, but to get in the park I think there is a fee. I went super early before anyone was there.
What species is that? I’m new to saltwater fishing.
It's a ribbon fish. I hear its great bait.

For sure, it's a beautiful area to fish. Water is very clean. Much better than my area which is Galveston.

Try Bahia Grande (gaymens bridge)
Thanks! I'll research google maps; I appreciate it.
Gorgeous morning in South Padre. Loved it
Thanks for watching!
Gulp is may starter and closer. Nice video.
Thanks! You can't go wrong with gulp lures.
Was hoping u were gonna use the spoon. Probably would've hooked up on something big.🎣🐋🤙
I was using the 1/4 oz spoon but no luck that day. Next time!
You really put those Gulps to use. You've caught a bunch of different species on them.

South Texas beaches are the best
The water was super clean compared to Galveston, my home water.

I've heard they are pretty good, I'll have to give it a try one day. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for identifying that species. I’m new to saltwater fishing and trying to learn all the techniques and information about it that I can.
I see you’re using Legacy fishing rod👍 me too, pretty good rod for $25. It’s also quite sensitive for fiberglass rod.
