A whiter shade of pale - video of the Hammond organ track as I learned by ear

- This is one of the camera angles of the Hammond organ track of our earlier recorded cover. Unfortunatelly all three camera angles recorded from the right side, so there is no use to split the screen for better viewing. In the mix I used other take, so there are some points where the video image slightly differ from the mix.
Here is the original description of our cover:
In these collaborations, our tendency has been to
create covers of rarely played masterpieces.
This time however, we completely changed direction
by selecting an all-time, ever-green rock hit of the sixties.
This masterpiece is as similar for beginner organ players as is the
“House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals, for beginner guitar
players in that, though everybody plays it, it's very rare that the
beginner really understands how to play it properly.
Supplementing our virtual band with special guest
Kevin Laurence on piano, coupled with Len’s brilliant voice,
we all put forth our best to create a cover as close to
the original as possible.
You can decide whether we succeeded or not… :-)))

If any song has been imported from heaven to earth, then this must be the one,for sure; and the organist plays it wonderfully.
C ' est en vérité le Choral du veilleur de Jean Sébastien Bach..Copie conforme.
Absolutely one of my top 10 favorite all time songs. I just love this song!!!
Played very well, congratulations! Greetings from Germany from a 61 year old keyboard and organ player returning to life.
Thanks for your nice words and I whish you long lasting life.... :-))
@@mokusmisi Thank you, I wish you that too. Stay healthy!
One of the Greatest Songs of all Time!
Agree! :-)
Great song and unforgettable melodious beautiful organ playing. One of the best songs I've heard .
You have inspired me to crank the old C-3 up again after several years of down time, so thank you! BTW, yours is a beautiful rendition of this timeless classic! 🎹🎹🎹👍
Brilliant! The best (Hammond organ) cover of this classic rock tune, which is immediately recognizable to practically everyone. Nice work you've done! You brought a tear to my eye. Thank you!
Thanks for your nice words!
Love this since I was a kid and I always will
I feel the same, and one of the melodies why I started to play Hammond organ... :-) Greetings from Hungary...
@@mokusmisi Wow, I was just thinking of shopping for a Hammond organ because of this tune and others and then I ran into your reply. I am a beginner self taught on a digital piano and I mostly use the organ sounds, rarely the piano voicings. Nice to know how you made the decision to get a Hammond. I really enjoy your playing and presentation! I wish you all the best and great holidays!
Просто что-то космическое!!!! Спасибо ВЕЛИКИМ предкам!!!!
Спасибо! :-))
Beautiful sounds
Fabulous mastering of the B3 for a thrilling tune which brings so many good memeories of my youth... now that I am a happy retiree from France ! Lots of thanks, man !!! Francis
Thanks for your nice words! :-) Greetings from Hungary
Very good performance of this classic hit. ❤
ethereal, celestial, too perfect for this world and kickass
The small glimpse of your face when you hammer the notes says it all. Kudos fella. This is so good.
Thanks! :-))
R.I.P Gary Brooker, You will be sadly MISSED, From Kev In the UK
Thanks! 🙂
Matthew Fisher, the organist who deserves all the credits for this organ part is still alive. And sadly he still grieves about being deprived the royalties for A Whiter Shade of Pale by Gary Brooker. Imagine this song without that organ part. Would it be of the same importance in rock music history?
Una canción preciosa!
This song is a classic and the true sound of that beautiful Hammond organ.
Nothing but praise for you.
i cannot wipe the smile off my face after watching and hearing what you just did.
and the Hammond sounds AWESOME.I love it- thanks for posting-its perfect-
Thanks for your nice words! This song is a best example of how a Bach melody can be transformed to a classical rock song with a help of the famous Hammond organ and a Leslie speaker... :-)
mokusmisi Tho it sounds alot like air, it has been mentioned in several interviews that they never listened to it. its just one of those coincidents that often happens that you borrow from other tracks without actually knowing of their existence.
mrdali67 i couldnt understand your comment at first, but I have just looked up 'Air' and i get it now....this is a tune we all grew up with in my era, and you could not help but hear it everywhere...I imagine the BBC saturated the airwaves with this piece when these fellows were growing up....i dont see how Mathew Fisher? could have escaped learning it or at least hearing it when he was learning to play- i do know that he first heard the Hammond from being friends with Ian MacLagan , of the Small Faces- and he used top borrow Ian's Hammond all the time, and Ian finally got tired of that and said HEY, why dont you get your OWN Hammond- (they were quite rare in England still ) and so he DID...and Immediately wrote this song, and look what happened as a result-
***************** Excellent performance !! Thank you !! *****************
Thanks! 🙂
Oh that sounds awesome 👏
Thanks! :-))
Excellent. You really nailed it. So glad I found this.
Thanks! 🙂
love this song
You are the tops ! I'm just fascinated watching what keys are used when hearing this masterpiece. This is the song that made me find others like Keith Emerson, Tony Banks and many others that deserve praise.
Thanks for your nice words! :-)))

Excellent organ cover + the original sung by Gary Brooker (?) gorgeous!
This song is one of the best souvenirs of my youth (I was just 10 when it was released) in 1967. This song makes me thrill.
Thanks! :-)) This piece was recorded by my virtual collaboration band:ruclips.net/video/w3tsW3HqedE/видео.html&pbjreload=101 and my American friend Len Audsley sang it.

Thanks! Fortunately I was able to buy a "Real" Hammond organ in 2002, but I was only this year able to record the cover of this masterpiece playing my "Real Hammond"

Thanks! The singer is Len Audsley, my friend from the US. You can find his channel on YT... 🙂
Really Nice and well done ! Congatulations from a French organ player !
Let me tell you about what happened to me when I was 17 (I am now 56): I was at this time learning organ after a few years on the piano , my father came back home with a friend who was managing an dancing band and as that man was looking for a keyboard man, my dad was expecting for me to get the job..
The guy asked me to play that part on the organ we were owning at home, a Crumar organ with drawbars, and I tried to do my best but just playing what I've anderstood by ear, it was a disaster and i did not get the job!
Since I've been working many times on that song and now I am not so bad with it, but playing all the right notes by heart needs to be concentrate!
Thanks again and what about something else? Conquistador?
Sorry for not being able to get that job! About "Conquistador": this is a masterpiece, but my interest is more towards the classical rock, like ELP, Deep Purple etc. I also like rock music wich have classical music origin like the "Hamburger Concerto" from Focus: ruclips.net/video/9RYxjShJdzs/видео.html, or the "Brandenburger Concerto" form The Nice: ruclips.net/video/EDB9Xr7jaXU/видео.html or the "Barbarian" from the ELP: ruclips.net/video/__q15x1j0kg/видео.html
Nice Thanks
Thanks! :-)
