Matthew Fisher e Gary Brooker ( morto recentemente) sono stati e restano la vera anima di questo gruppo, pietra miliare nella storia della musica mondiale. Grazie Procol Harum
They live in their recordings, and we'll have those to remind us of what they gave. I like to think that, perhaps, some civiliztion sixty light years out, with advanced electromagnetic receiver technology will soon be receiving Earth's radio transmissions, that Procol Harum will be on the play list, and that those beings might recognize the genius from this otherwise unremarkable patch of the sky.
This song is the quintescent essence of what we all hoped would show up one day from the genius of Procol Harum, after Whiter Shade of Pale.. It is perfect.

I bought 'The Well's On Fire' as soon as it came out. Even if the rest of the album were rubbish (and, needless to say, it isn't) this one track alone more than justified the price of the album. The very first time I listened to it, I found it completely overwhelming : it made my hair stand on end. Sadly, hearing a piece for the first time is an unrepeatable experience - but I still love it!
