  • After another amazing night of camping. We got up and hit Charlie’s Creek Road to do a little bit of off-road driving. Charlie’s Creek Road is definitely different than it was last time. Charlie’s Creek Road is part of the Georgia traverse trail system. Charlie’s creek is a Access Road which a lot of people use for four wheeling. There’s an amazing river crossing to begin the trail or end depending on which way you go. They have scraped half of the road and graveled it so it is not as difficult as it used to be. We did see a lot of jeeps and other off-road vehicle’s. Come join us on our latest adventure.

    Love the Music on this as it fits w/ your off roading theme. I have to tell ya though, I got a lil nervous watching this. But your Bad @$$ truck was able to navigate through all those pot holes and water. Ga mtn rds are no joke. I have literally "smoked" 2 of my car engines driving up some steep narrow precipitous grades. LOL

    That truck is a beast! Thanks for the tip on being able to access the AT on this road. Even The Further Shuttle Appalachian doesn't drive up this road. I am sure my civic would be able to handle this...

      You’re a funny guy! They did a ton of work on this road. I did this 2 weeks in a row. Week one was a lot different than week 2 . You need a 6” lift on your civic! You need to go for a ride out there with me. It isn’t bad coming the opposite direction to the AT.

    What lift did you go with? I'm trying to start building my f150 to take my family overlanding in North georgia also and I like the way you've built yours a lot.

      Also do you think this trail would be pushing it for my stock with mud tires f150 (4x4 of course)

    • @SANDTOUTDOORS
      @SANDTOUTDOORS  2 года назад +1

      You will definitely be fine in a stock vehicle with reasonable clearance. Honestly I didn’t use four-wheel-drive about 95% of the time. It is actually just a forest service access road with a few cool features. It used to be a lot more technical but they scraped it. It has been a couple months since I have been there and there is a lot of jeep traffic so the road could be tore up a little more than last time.
      As far as the lift I have a video coming out next week on the truck build overview. I think if you are beginning a build it will be very helpful to you. I went with the Bilstein 6120 coil overs on the front and 5160s on the rear. The lift itself is rough country 6 inch. My next addition is going to be the icon upper control arms. So far I am very happy with my build.

    @S AND T OUTDOOR is that an F150 or F250. I have an stock F150 and was wondering if I would have any clearance issues. Been hearing about this trail and was told it was pretty rough but also herd they did a lot of work to it so I thinking about going to check it out.

    • @SANDTOUTDOORS
      @SANDTOUTDOORS  3 года назад +1

      2018 F150 XLT, You shouldn’t have much issue. I do have a 6 inch lift but they have graded this road so much that I believe you would be OK. If It was a few months ago I’d say otherwise. I honestly think I could’ve done it in 2 Wheel Dr. I did use 4H just to make sure I didn’t spin the tires.

      @@SANDTOUTDOORS I have the same truck. 2018 F150 XLT FX4. Yeah I heard the road use to be pretty bad. That’s why I avoided it. I take it off road semi-regularly but heard people trashed it so bad that it could be a problem.

    • @SANDTOUTDOORS

      One thing to keep in mind though, is there’s a lot of jeeps in and out of there. This video was filmed a month ago so who knows how it looks now. There are plenty of places to turn around though if you don’t feel comfortable.

    • @SANDTOUTDOORS
      @SANDTOUTDOORS  2 года назад +1

      I used it a couple times do to mud but probably didn’t have to. It changes day to day up there due to the number of vehicles that drive it. Thanks for watching!

    • @davidlecroy432
      @davidlecroy432 2 года назад +1

      I went to check it out back in January and did it all in 2wd in a F150 with stock clearance and stock tires. I did go on a semi-dry day but the trail has enough gravel and rock to get grip. After the work they did to it it’s not a rough area but if you haven’t already went I’d say go check it out. Although just a 2wd trail now it’s still fun and scenic.

    • @SANDTOUTDOORS
      @SANDTOUTDOORS  2 года назад +1

      @@davidlecroy432 Yeah it’s a cool place to go, but it is technically just a service road. An access road for the utility workers primarily. It’s definitely worth the drive it used to be a lot more fun but they have done a lot of work on it. I still haven’t gone to Sarahs Creek but I hear it is a little bit more technical.

      @@SANDTOUTDOORS it is once you cross the creek after the camping sites. I have seen vids but turned back at the creek cause it was raining and I was out alone with a truck full of kids and didn’t want to get stuck without a recovery vehicle. I don’t know how much width there is back there for full-size trucks either.
