'Gives us" which means doing. But the omnipresent athma (Shiva) is NOT the doer of any action even though impassive experiencer. Shakthi is the doer of all actions. Humans with six senses should realize the true self (athma- the impassive experiencer) and mimic its non doer attributes in actions (inaction in action) or action without creating karma . So, dharmic action is important.

If God is the doer of all actions then what is the point of telling us the dos and dont’s in the Vedas? If God is the doer of all actions, then why does the jeev have to bear the consequences? If God is the doer, why in the world, some people are good and some others evil? The statement - जो करै सो हरि करै, हाेत कबीर कबीर - God is the doer of all our actions”, was said in relation to the actions of the God-realized saints. In our case, He, as the powerhouse, gives us the energy and way we use that energy is our free choice.

Yes but the catch is we have to offer all of our actions to the lord so that they do not lead to karma Bandhan a. Once we surrender our mind and this our actions to the lord, he himself takes responsibility. Hence, Karishye vachanam tava. All actions go to Shri Krishna. And also the bramharpanam shloka which is there is an important one too.

If we did a mistake unknowingly, like if I did something, and it did not turn out good, was it destiny? god's plan?what was it?
