      Your attention to detail though admirable must be a real millstone around your neck. These two men had been friends in real life for a long time.
      They were attuned to each other and knew the material inside and out.
      But, I dare say, all that aside…as this is a film, it is entirely possible that they may have played the scene more than once to get mannerisms and nuance correct…hmmm, don’t you agree.

IDK if Wodehouse specified in the novels they to be twins but I think it was very effective.

    While Wodehouse is my absolute favorite author, I have never found that the humor could be interpreted on screen. Simply because it's not acting the narrative which is funny - as in a sitcom - but in the words telling it. This series, however, manages to amuse me. Still not as much as reading his writing but better than any other production of Wodehouse's work I have seen.

    • @thunder8bunny
      @thunder8bunny 5 лет назад +1

      I agree - P.G. Wodehouse's humour is in his writing and the imagination - I usually can't make it to the next page due to stomach cramps I get from laughing, but with this series I am usually laughing because of the brilliant acting, though, not to the degree of humour I can find on the books themselves. For some reason, the elements that made the book so funny tend to be interpreted in rather annoying ways on screen - is that just me, or are they equally annoying in the book?

    • @crackle6875
      @crackle6875 2 года назад +1

      Hmmm, maybe it was the way you visualized it while reading that made it funny instead of annoying? Maybe in the TV series it’s the editing & directive choices that give it a different feel for you?

    It seems to me that aunt Agatha's clothes and hats in this episode are very similar to those that Maggie Smith wore in Downton Abbey. Am I wrong?

      What does that mean? Is that a reference to some cartoon?

      @@waynemarvin5661It's a clever reference to the "Dr Who" series, the single longest running series on English television, also spawned dozens of movies. Conventions, etc. 😊 Still airing new episodes. Watch for the Christmas one each year. It may be an acquired taste for some Americans who are unfamiliar with the touchstone references.

    Should’ve ended with a scene of a bunch of birds being scared off in the flight by the aunt yelling Bertie

    i watched this series for the first time when i was sixteen, in 1992. that year i also discovered the works of h.p.lovecraft, which were written and take place in the 20's and 30's. i think to this day, that cthulhu has no chance against jeeves...
