Very enjoyable viewing thanks Les. Those slips were very well controlled, especially the last one, finding its feet and then blasted up the bank, great!!!
Hi Leslie, Well all that time spent filming the trains for us all came up trumps this time a super video thanks for taking us with you wonderful. Cheers Robert.
Nice view of the Black 5's arriving. I was thinking of going to watch from there with steam not often arriving from the North but had met someone on the platform. A good day out with plenty to see
Late on Parade, (again), but thanks! Tangmere got away really well, not what I'd call a serious slip (or slips). With that load, greasy rail, and drag from the curve, that was extremely well done by the crew. Thats a great shot of the bank up and the falling away lines to the left, not many places where you can see that disparity on elevation with broadly parallel tracks
@@LeslieGilpinRailways Yes, no surprise there, Bullied's original chain drive gear and fast acting reverser (for its supposed original mixed traffic role) were from reports not exactly renowned for easy progressive control or even knowing where the gear actally was set when starting. The many years later rebuild programme dumped those features, for starters. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Another reason to praise the crew of Tangmere for their handling of the beast! Allegedly Tangmere was not one of the better ones as built anyway. Does make for some spectacular visuals when pulling hard though, "The Volcano" tag is quite apt. Though don't expect to see much clear scenery when riding behind it! 😉
Took me time to find it again. THIS is a slip..................... ruclips.net/video/Eb8uWexXQyM/видео.html (Water carry over preventing closure of regulator)
Had the 2 5's here but only 44871 carried on. 45407 spent the night at Landore and went back to Carnforth this morning. Very good Leslie, all the best.
great video Les some very nice catches there matey loved the 2 black 5s they looked awesome pulling away great capture Thanks for sharing take care a t b syd👍
good to see a few more different locations. always interesting your videos. not quite like canal allocated A3's. princes royals etc, but I know I am an old stager!
Did they leave the headboard on the 5s then? Nice departure by Tangmere, good to see the diesel driver restrained himself from opening the power handle
at around 9m27s a few wrong side signal failures on CE406signal red-black-red -black etc please forward video to network rail for investigations. some form of track circuit failure/point detection fault
That would be difficult as CE406 is three aspect. and is showing Stop from the Goods lines. 6K05 had Yellow from correct signal from Up Down Newcastle Line
The other signal had returned to danger after the loco had passed the proceed aspect then ce406 due to the undiagnosed fault with signal it was in a intermittent fault mode....Trust me I'm a rail worker for 34 years the signal should not be preforming in that manner....I will report it to network rail my self, just thought you might of got some form of recognition from NR for finding fault
HAving seen other recordings I've made, its the camcorder not the signal! I've had a similar effect on one of the principal signals in the station. I put it down to the 'interference' between the signalling circuit at 50 (?) Hz and my camcorder having a variable frame rate (automatically set by the camcorder). Most of the time signals appear solid but just every so often they appear to phase in and out. Its the same when I film the customer information boards.

Thanks Robert much appreciated

It was a good day I agree. Its not a perfect view looking north as the masts get in the way - but a rarity for steam
Great video, Les. The shots around 6:00 in were great... loved the Norman tower and old town backdrop.
Thanks 👍 I thought it right to include the cathedral tower. Hard to get the other mediaeval buildings overlooking the line as trees mask the view
Nice one, Les. You really captured Tangmere's wheel slip extremely well. The crew dealt with it expertly. The new location was great too.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow Les great video . Great hearing train whistles again . Tangmere departing was something else 👍👍
Yes it was. Glad you enjoyed the video

Thanks for watching. Its been interesting to compare Braunton departing with Tangmere. Braunton hardly slipped at all!

I dont understand why they kept using the same locos most of the time - once the Great Britain had a different loco for every leg
Thanks Leslie.
Great to see the Black Fives in action.
Serious wheel slip with Tangmere starting from the station.
Thanks. Not seen her slip that much in a while
great video Les some very nice catches there matey loved the 2 black 5s they looked awesome pulling away great capture

Thanks for sharing
Andy
Many thanks!

Glad you like them! Yes anything allocated to any of the old steam sheds would be great!
Nicely controlled slippage from the crew, super sight.
Indeed! Not often Tangmere slips that much
Wow Leslie just wow. Brilliant guess you were tired but happy at end of day
Thanks that much appreciated. There was a lot of running about!
Fantastic Video. Well Done.
Glad you enjoyed it
love the video and the ending with all them trains . i play train sim world 4 im sure you heard of it
Thanks!
Awesome love the steam train 🤗🥰👋👍🚂🚂🚂
Thank you 🤗

It's rare for the diesel to push unless requested.

@@grahamallen1970 I forwarded your observation to a network rail friend who is a shift manager in the psb.

I'll sleep better now! Will you update hear what he says?
Keep up the video recordings.

What’s happened to the 56s on the logs?
This was Friday 19th. The 56s were the following day!
What does a flashing red signal mean
I realise what you mean - I believe its a faulty signal!
Enjoying your videos, these heritage locos need some weathering, I recon you could earn a fortune with a wash off weathering coat, only joking !!
They do seem vary shiny!
Take a look at Tangmere's sister Manston for the proper 1960s look!
No music either
I never use music
