Well, I for one can't wait for part two! Good thing I have the bell set for all notifications. You young women really give a boomer hope for our future! Thanks! GOD is #1 overall! USA #1 Country on the planet!
At 4:51, the top and bottom large sections of the log do NOT look of equal size. If that is the goal, I suggest measuring to find the middle, then cutting out from there, rather than "eyeballing" the cuts. Otherwise, the "cliffhanger" aspect of this video is, well, kinda cute in a campy way. Your presentations are always clear and entertaining, so thanks!
Hi two different size cut's out off the one log, that's still a good achievement, its like the old saying, getting two bird's with one stone LCLY thank you.
Been watching all your videos long time. I don't know much about milling but love to watch how it is done and your knowledge is amazing. Em you do such a good job on filming, editing, and the background music is nice. If you ever need a part time job, apply at any TV station for the weather report girl. You would be perfect, you know the weather and it's importance for planning your day outside. Hats off to all your family working a business.
Very interesting channel…and very cool family. Thanks for all the information about the business, I always wanted a small mill of my own…but alas (sigh)…I’m 70 and too old.
the piece can be used structurally, if the rounded edge was cut off or not. A rounded live edge decorative bonus, can be achieved, by not doing any more cutting.
Emerald, thank you for narrating as you cut, as a person who never set foot on a log mill, I truly appreciate it, but I'm still fascinated how you guys can turn a tree into useable instruments for humans, keep up the good work 🎵😎🎵
??? Why not centering the the pit as I understand eliminates some of twisting and warping when drying and very good for beams if heart wood is centered
Something like opening Pandora's log. Curiosity got the best of her and look at the mess we're in. But the Mill can fix this in the capable hands of these two curious ladies.
The uneven cut at the beginning would suggest that the downward load of the log on the table is not even. The log is sitting downward on its rough side to the table. Therefore the blade is dealing with different weight densities near the end. Probably lighter in weight. As it travels inward the overall weight of the log comes into play steadying the blade. If the horizontal load were shifted slightly over the front of cutting zone the log should react better. My guess! Carter ..... Canada
Your father was right. Max out quarter sawn lumber. The 4 left cant's are sawn flipping 90 degrees, and back to original position. Sometime we can do 2 cant's at a time.
I'm not so much intrigued about the reason for cutting of the red oak but more curious about where you got the Bigfoot coffee cup! Let us know THAT also in Part 2!
Love redoak that's good stuff and remember curiosity killed the cat 😁 I'm thinking they just wanted to see if you could do lol🐝 oh yes and good eyeballing 👌
My guess is Grampa Larry requested these to build a custom carport for Emerald's new Jeep (forrest green color) with LCLY logo on the spare tire wheel cover. Her and Jade can go cattin around Williamsport in that thing!
I wonder if they are planning on making a picnic table with this lumber. They could use the four 5/4 boards for the table top, reinforcing them with a crisscross of two of the beams. the other two beams could be made into benches on either side of the picnic table. Depending on the overall length needed for the picnic table and benches, there could be enough remnant lumber to build the necessary structural support.
I'd guess quartersawing for a white oak log, but red oak doesn't have nearly the figure that white does. I learned to pronounce 5/4 as "five quarter, Emerald. I wonder why the Boss Man says it differently. Fun and different, eh?
I think it has to do with cutting for Storyville (sp?), for flooring. The four large pieces can easily be oriented for quarter and riff sawn, while the center pieces are obviously already quartersawn. This would give the flooring cutter better yield I think. The wrench in the works is thus far they've only cut white oak for flooring. I'm still thinking it has to do with maximizing quartersawn with possibly less waste, but I could be smoking bark. PS; the mountain looks healthy.
I like the cut very delicate ....like the Name Emerald Breon with Camera man master jade cute 😊👌
I think this will be used for an outdoor supper table to be used when granpa grills his amazing food !!
hello lumber capital it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
That shirt I ordered about the hugging the tree before cutting is getting all sorts of snort laughing. Nice!

I'm guessing the 4 big chunks are for mantels with a live edge ?
Em, following the boss's instruction is always important !!
My first thought was where the hell is Jade, and the second was your making a bench maybe. Looking forward to part 2.
live edge fire place mandles is my guess. take care, be safe and well.
Will be cruising through early Friday morning..Lookout for the black Kenworth..or listen 😂

An interesting line in the channel - a bit of intrigue. Good narrative from Em. Take care of your spine, Jade. (Hi from Belarus. Harry Davidson).
The cliffhanger!!
Will wait for part two...
I, too, was itching to find out why the unusual cuts. I applied Calamine Lotion and the itch went away. 👍👍👍
Love you all! ❤

Very interesting channel…and very cool family. Thanks for all the information about the business, I always wanted a small mill of my own…but alas (sigh)…I’m 70 and too old.
Great Video!!! 👍👍👍👍😎
I lived this video. I liked the way you explained the size of the cuts.
I love your beautiful red hair EMERALD , your sister looks like her mom
Em does so well with narration 👏
Wavy at start of last cut. Bringing the guide in looked like it helped.

Thanks for sharing, I think he's looking for heart lumber. Great job ladies, have a great evening! TTFN
Exciting?
Love you cats.
Peace on earth.
It's redwood, a beautiful wood.
I'm going with special order for log cabin pillars, or beams.
That's what I'd want :)
I'm thinking that these are for a cabin repair, thanks have a nice weekend
Always cool.
Peace on earth.
Em has a wealth of knowledge of the job. Very nice to see smart young people at work.
Thanks for the good video, may God bless you and your family!!
I am referring to the downward dip of the blade at the start of the cut.
Your videos are fantastic!! 👍🏼💜
??? Why not centering the the pit as I understand eliminates some of twisting and warping when drying and very good for beams if heart wood is centered
Great commercial!!! 😁
Something like opening Pandora's log. Curiosity got the best of her and look at the mess we're in. But the Mill can fix this in the capable hands of these two curious ladies.
The passion for what you do shows!!👏👏👏
I'm not sure if it was an optical illusion or something, but 5:14 it looked like there was a wave in the cut.

I don't think they should have been cut together at all, nor the middle guessed at, but we will see what the Boss says.
Me too, making the base boards to build a table.
Your father was right. Max out quarter sawn lumber. The 4 left cant's are sawn flipping 90 degrees, and back to original position. Sometime we can do 2 cant's at a time.
Oooooh, a cliffhanger!
How wonderfully professional you are!
Great job ❤
The dynamic duo's back ❤☕️🪵👍👌(wonder what's he building)
Thanks Emerald and Jade for the entertaining video, keeping us on our seats for part two! BTW your sawing skills are amazing!
5:15 I SAW THAT!!
144 thousand subscribers outstanding to hole family
I just started watching im pretty sure it's quarter saw technique plan.Emy
🤔❓ waiting for part 2...
You guys never fail to amaze me❤️❤️❤️
I believe it is the start of Quatersawing
I'm not so much intrigued about the reason for cutting of the red oak but more curious about where you got the Bigfoot coffee cup! Let us know THAT also in Part 2!
Amazing video and mmm very stange cuts there yes
What happened at 5.20 in the video! Did the blade go walkabout or was that a grain induced optical illusion? Cheers
You take those four sub sections and quarter-saw them? Looks great. Thanks for sharing
Love redoak that's good stuff and remember curiosity killed the cat 😁 I'm thinking they just wanted to see if you could do lol🐝 oh yes and good eyeballing 👌
What kind of shampoo do you use and conditioner, It looks so healthy! TIA
Really dig your delivery. Getting good at it. Plus your not so hard to look at.😜
her sister is beautiful as well
Emerald, I really enjoy your style! Such interesting and entertaining videos! I just subscribed.
My guess is Grampa Larry requested these to build a custom carport for Emerald's new Jeep (forrest green color) with LCLY logo on the spare tire wheel cover. Her and Jade can go cattin around Williamsport in that thing!
"Let's embark..." LOL!!
Tease!!!
First, I want to say, " Great Video". I'm thinking the floor company wants some clean trim boards for baseboard as well as window trim??
Thanks
❤️❤️❤️💥Emerald💥❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
I'm going to guess that the larger parts are for the live edge mantles Bossman once said he wanted to do
I wonder if they are planning on making a picnic table with this lumber. Emerald looks like an apache biker with that tattoo .😀😀😯😉😈😈😈😎💑💀💀💀💖
The quarters can now be flipped left and right to make quarter sawn stock
Don't know what the specs are planned for, but I hope you can get some pictures 😊
Laser eyes strikes again!
there seems to be a lot of wander with the blade on entry, you could almost go surfing on that wave...
Butterflying
I'd guess quartersawing for a white oak log, but red oak doesn't have nearly the figure that white does. I learned to pronounce 5/4 as "five quarter, Emerald. I wonder why the Boss Man says it differently. Fun and different, eh?
How much dust gets into the coffee? 😂 now a serious question, does your harvesting include grubbing stumps, or leave em to sucker, or rot?
Thank you for sharing,
I find Your videos very educational. You encourage viewers to comment, but you hardly ever respond

Agree on your points, including the mountain having recovered from whatever ailed it last year.
I have no idea but I'm sure he's got something special panned for you girls to do with the red oak lumber
I reckon those will be made into custom table legs for a lodge, cabin, or perhaps a bar? IDK...
fireplace mantle pieces?
I would be grateful if you could use Closed Captions as you usually do.
May question is how do you decide to put shorts or blue jeans on?🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
It's a fire place mantle...
👍👍
