Hi, I want to build my first custom keyboard in this field. Therefore, I wanted to ask if you would recommend a wrist rest for the keyboards you have presented? Also, what about custom keyboards in the gaming area?
It depends on the wireless implementation. As far as wired modes go any keeb should be fine, however when it comes to wireless implementations the debate becomes about 2.4 ghz wireless and bluetooth. Bluetooth is hard limited at 125 hz (iirc that is) polling rate, while 2.4 ghz goes up to 1000hz just like when wired. At that point, 2.4 ghz vs wired is more about the wireless chip and how far you are from the usb dongle of the keyboard, much like these days' wireless mice.
Competitive twitch shooters I definitely wouldn't recommend really any custom keyboard so far and stick with the pre-built gaming keyboards that have a higher poling rate. That said, Keychron, Ducky and GMMK for example have polling rates of 1000hz which is plenty for most gaming outside competition.

The Mode Sonnet's internal weight costs more than my entire modded budget keyboard :)
Me for the past 2 weeks in the rabbit hole. Since I'm just starting, I'm just gonna go with the Keychron Q1 V2. I hope I don't get stuck in the hobby cause it's expensive!!
Hi, I want to build my first custom keyboard in this field. Therefore, I wanted to ask if you would recommend a wrist rest for the keyboards you have presented? Also, what about custom keyboards in the gaming area?
Congrats on getting married!
Been in this rabbit hole since 2020. Still waiting for my keyboard lolol
We all knew this was inevitable after that Tofu.
Great videos as always, what keycaps are used on the akko board in the video?
would be interesting to see latency testing also for this keyboard, they said that keycron ones arent good for gaming
Nobody in the custom world really cares about latency. At the top end its about Sound, Feel, looks, and supply & demand.
Must be nice to be able to send out an email and receive thousands of dollars worth of hard to get keyboards 😅. Amazing content as always amigo, love that you've fallen down the rabbit hole with us! Some of these boards just run at some seriously ridiculous prices. They really are a luxury item 😂
To be fair they’re review units, so they’re technically not for free.
@@Definitely_Melnyx I didn't say they were free, Ali makes some amazing content which warrants manufacturers sending him samples. I was just saying they were hard to get and expensive for normal people like myself. I'm a bit of a keyboard enthusiast but I couldn't spend over $350 on a board 😅
there it is i was waiting for this to happen
I feel the same. Literally got my first custom keyboard yesterday. Lol
well that's another hobby I also fell deep into too
another very detailed video... and can you do a video about fantech maxfit 67 and aria xd7....
could you do a video on the best off-the-shelf 60-65% keyboards?
I would recommend checking out the AEboard Raed Switches, used it in my gaming keyboard.
I like the GMK keycaps, but the wait times are insane. But many people are willing to wait and pay for the exclusivity and the colorways can be very enticing. I love my Keychron Q1 and KBD67.
there's lots of GMK sets on novelkeys on sale nowadays, they're extra old sets that are still in stock
Drop also has many in stock gmk sets but I personally do not like what drop does in general so I have stopped buying from them
