Hi Ellen, I am over at my sons house because I am watching my grandkids tonight. They are tucked in their beds. All is quiet. My grandson is sick but he did take his medication and he ate some of his supper, and a popsicle, and some fruit, so I was happy about that. My granddaughter was sick last week, but she has recovered just fine. Well, have a great evening, Ellen. Your organizer will be interesting to see. God bless you. ❤
Ellen, I love organizing! I wish I lived near. you - I'd come do it for free. I will be excited to see the progress and I know you will feel so much relief when it's all done. Please do take before and after pictures. :)
I like to organize too but this is too overwhelming for me. I'll feel a lot better once I get the basement back in order. I'll document as I make progress
Absolutely amazing I’ll be back over on that channel on Facebook again this week in the group. I absolutely love the group. I thought it was wonderful. I’m so glad you’re back there too.
He buys his own food and pays for the Internet. He's not a financial burden for me and I don't want money from him. I'd rather he saves up and puts his money in the bank for his future.
Good Sunday morning my coffee friend, my little girl cat midnight has hopped up here in my lap and I want some more coffee in my cup but I don't want to move cuz she will hop down. It's a cat lover thing!😂😂 I really like your little gnomes especially like the blue one by your coffee pot, do you have a little sprig of winter flowers that you could change your fall ones out beside the little gnome? You have a nice day and everyone that watches you I wish them a wonderful day also! 🎄🎄🎄⛄⛄⛄❄️❄️❄️
I used to do the same thing with my cats. I miss not having kitties but my dogs don't like them. All my winter flowers are packed away. Maybe next year 😊 I hope you had a great day too 😊☕☕😊cheers!
Our temp warmed up today which was nice, now rain this evening. I'll be doing the Christmas meal, just a ham and sweet potatoes and some type of dessert and rolls. My DIL will bring a broccoli cheese casserole. It will just be a small gathering. For Christmas Eve I'll make some type of soup, maybe stuffed pepper soup, for anyone who drops in along with the cheese trays and cookies. Today I did a deep clean of my kitchen and baths and then did a lot of decluttering, throwing away a lot of items. Feels good to get rid of so much junk. I also have another large pile to donate in the Spring to my Church's FREE yard sale.
Good Sunday Morning, Miss Ellen. Sunny here and going to 64° today. I am sure the organizers will help get you out from under the basement stress and give you a good jumpstart on the overall project. The start date will allow for time to do more planning once Christmas is behind you. I checked your Facebook group a while back and saw it was archived. Wow...great news it is back!!! Will go over and post a mice deterrent for you. I posted it on FB but don't think I tagged you. 🐭🐁🐀🚫 Can't find the Facebook group. No clue why. Sent you a message on Messenger...can you please send me link? Thanks!
I sent you an invite to join the group Diana. I was surprised I got back control of the group. Starting in January I'm going to work on that basement until I get it done 👍
If I lived closer, I would come and do it for you for absolutely free! When I got divorced and my husband left, my husband actually lived in our basement and he was a hoarder. It took 17 hours and 39 of the 50 gallon trash bags for me to clean out the basement that did not include selling some items that were left over and then re-organizing the entire thousand foot square foot basement! Needless to say it took a very long process took a lot of storage containers of things that I needed to sort and keep but I got it done probably in a two week period. Or so at that time my kids were very small and so I had to manage doing it at night while the kids were asleep. To make this a little bit easier for yourself I would suggest and purchasing a few of maybe the 30 gallon trash cans the kind that you can put a 30 gallon trash bag in that are plastic that you can buy probably pretty cheaply at Walmart and that’s what I did. I had two set up strictly one for trash the second one I put a trash bag in and I filled it up with things to donate that way when it was time to donate it I pulled the bag out and had a friend of mine. Take it to the donation center or my daughter take it to the donation center and drop it off the trash definitely went outside. The donations went to the donation center, and then I purchased a bunch of 30 gallon totes with lids. I have two rack systems down in my basement each has 12 slots and each holds Three totes per level. The levels have a slot for each tote to fit into. I bought two of those tote rack systems on Amazon a long time ago so together both tote systems hold a maximum of 2430 gallon totes. It’s a beautiful thing labels easily go on the outside additional bedding, emergency supplies, things that nature get vacuum sealed and put into totes and labeled on the front of the tote so exactly we know what we need! I suggest you get a bunch of see-through totes that maybe you can put some smaller supplies in or items in and then get yourself some peel and stick labels that you can write The items on the outside of them and if you can get stackable totes, you can stack one on top of another just don’t stack anything heavy on the top start with the heavy items on the bottom and stack a couple high and push them against the wall until either. You can sit them on a shelf or get a tote rack or something of that nature that will help you a lot! But just so that you don’t get overwhelmed I would go downstairs every couple of hours and do about 20 or 25 minutes with the work and then call it a day I did that several times during the day when the kids were either in early childhood or elementary school and then I also did a couple hours every single night when I put them to bed at 9 o’clock at night That way I could do everything I needed to without getting overwhelmed and if you get overwhelmed, stop what you’re doing and go upstairs I think that personal organizational individuals overcharge completely for their services because they know people are at their wits end and people are ready to give up rather than clean up and the problem with that is they take advantage of individuals because there’s no way in hell it should cost you $700 for six hours for the work that’s insane. That’s crazy and it’s ridiculous! If I lived closer to you, I would come over and do it in a week and I would do it for free! I’m sorry that you have to hire a professional to do something that I think other people should donate their time, especially to elderly and helping them maybe hire your grandson to come over and help you as you sit down on a chair and work together with one of your younger grandchildren and pay them to help you. I’m sure it’ll be a lot more Economically affordable and then you can spend time with one of your younger grandsons cause you can tell him whether it goes in a tote, whether it needs to be donated or whether you wanna put it in the trash and you can sit down there and talk to him at the same time just a suggestion correction each one of the tote racks holds 24 of the 30 gallon totes not 24,000 sorry that was a typo
Those are great ideas. I've already bought metal shelves and clear totes that I'm sure will make things look much better. Lots of things need to be moved around to other areas or purged. You got a lot accomplished with your basement 😊👍
Well, the county guys came out yesterday to look at the water leak. They had three leaks between the meter can and the water tap, and the meter can had been installed improperly so that you couldn't turn the water 💦 off with a water key. So they had to fix all that. It was actually nice outside for a couple of hours today, around 65 degrees. I ordered another debit card today, they said it would be here in about ten days. The days are getting shorter fast. There isn't much coming from the solar panels the last few days, it rained some the last few days, and the weak sun ☀️ is only out for a few hours. The wind generator was pretty active though. * I know about the mice...My cat 🐈 has been catching enough that she isn't eating much cat food. I've went into my weird winter sleeping pattern too. I took a nap too. How that works is, when the nap is over, it's time to bring in a little wood. I'm getting low on free scraps but I have to wait for the debit card to get a replacement driver's license. It's time for something to eat, maybe watch a movie. Usually I add a bit of wood to the fire 🔥 and go to bed late. That keeps it warm until I get up. My uncle sold his extra wood stove for $400 this morning. I have a stray cat trying to come around and fight Kit Kat, so I'll be cleaning the. 22 rifle tonight. I guess the stray is tired of living, IDK. Sounds cold ❄️🥶 where you are. Stay warm and safe. The snow ❄️🌨️ won't be here for another month or so.
Maybe you could catch the stray and take it for a ride elsewhere so it won't bother your cat 😺 after the winter solstice, December 21st, the days will slowly be getting longer that will be a plus even though it takes forever. The short days are conducive for hibernating
