In Ariel's defense, it was Ursula who made falling in love the point of the story. If Ursula didn't put the true love's kiss bit in the contract Ariel would happily run around exploring the human world and wouldn't give romance a single thought

I would recommend reviewing some LEGO shows like Ninjago, Nexo Knights, and Legends of Chima. They were all great. But mostly Ninjago. It is iconic.
And the show is still going strong after 11 years, with even more seasons being planned. So take that as you will.

@@kaelopitse5956 it really is. It's criminally underrated. It deserves more attention. Because with its narrative, it should have failed. But it did a complete 180 instead and lasted for 11 years and is still going strong.

Unpopular opinion but I think that Sleeping Beauty is one of the best Disney premixed films. I think that what makes this film not as beloved is because the Princess in it has the least screen time Aurora has like less than 20 minutes of screen time. But I think it works the story is a lot more about the fairies and Phillip more than Aurora. The humor in it is great with Flora and Merryweather’s fighting and bickering over the color of a dress. Also Phillip is great he was the first prince to actually have an important role. Prince Florian and Charming could literally be replaced by a broom and nothing would change that much but Phillip is different. He’s also the first Disney Royal to go against his father’s wishes (not Ariel). Also let’s be honest it has one of the best Disney villains cause Maleficent just steals the show. Bonus this movie is drop dead gorgeous, every background being hand painted. This entire movie every frame is beautiful with the lighting and the depth and the coloring.

Philip was done dirty. The win against with Maleficent was not Philip’s win. The 3 fairies lied when they said they couldn’t help him after breaking him out of the dungeon, but all they did was help to the point Philip was essentially useless. Nothing he did on his own had any impact against Maleficent.

Also, when it comes to Disney Princesses, you're right: Moana is the best.

I love Moana! Glad she's a strong willed girl, dealing with people who want to treat her like a child at first (looking at Maui on the island) but she pushes through that to be successful! No dumb boy drama! Sorry (not sorry) if I sound like like a feminist... but it's just not always about a boy. And most young girls need to push against being treated like a dumb kid when you're actually mature enough to be respected and treated like an adult. It happened to me and has happened to every girl I know! Heck, even Sheryl Sandberg writes about it in her book titled Lean In!

I’m pretty sure Disney will refer to their characters as a Princess based on a criteria they have for their movies, the SuperCarlinBrothers did a video abt it a few years ago.
I remember part of the criteria was either being born/marrying into royalty or committing an act of heroism. There’s other stuff but that’s just part of what I remembered. :)

I personally believe the original Mulan is best. Don't get me wrong Moana is good but her story just feels partially like things were handed to her. Even though it's technically not a person the ocean basically played a lot into plot convenience Maui tried to leave Moana but the ocean forced him to stay and the ocean helped out Moana in lots of other things as well. Mulan though felt like the reason she was successful was because of hard work and determination. Even though she does seem to suddenly become better in a few seconds as you said ultimately it was during a timelapse and it isn't because she's physically stronger suddenly but it's because she got smarter. She figured out how to do things better and persevered because of it. Heck, this was supposed to be one of the main points of the film. Brain beats brawn. You made good arguments but the more I watch Moana in all honesty I feel like she's entitled to things while Mulan feels like she has to work for everything. Overall I feel like Mulan is better because I feel like I can relate to her more and when her victories feel earned and not just something that happens just because she's the main character.

I agree, Moana is certainly the best, while you didn't talk about Raya (mostlly becasue she is hasn't been sworned in yet and isn't a musical) the two films are similar. They go on a quest the restore the heart of something to chase away the "darknesss" that is eating/killing their world. The girls have very different character development for sure, but in terms of storytelling, Moana wins, as Raya's themes of forgiveness and trust is so convoluted that accidently promotes a harmful message instead. It is important to forgive and move on, even forget, but that does not mean you just tear down all walls, sometimes you have to cut people out of your life if they harm you. It was that nuance that was missing from that film. Plus it really felt like a maguffin film. We went to new places of their world only to leave and make friends that easily? Idk it was shalllow. Could of have been improved.

What would you consider to be the most unknown, worst Disney animated film that came out it in any time period. I’d be interested to see what their most bottom of the barrel film is like

    • @sofia7816
      @sofia7816 2 года назад

Some of their most unknown movies include: Home on the Range, Atlantis, Robin Hood, and Black Cauldron. Their’s more unknown/bar movies but I can’t make them off the top of my head.
Side note an unknown Disney movie I actually like is Meet the Robinsons the story is interesting and the characters are really cool. If it had come out like a decade later during the 2010’s it would probably be more well known.
In terms of what’s their worst movie may I suggest you watch some of their movie sequels most are pretty bad with writing, dialogue, animation, and make you question who approved the idea.

And the races stuff that was in the old ones which was crazy when I found out about it but they were still good princess movies I do wish they would try and make ones with good queens instead of making all queens bad and unkind and even add some kings to and Walt Disney was raised to that’s why there were racist parts in the old ones they even have a video talking about it after he died and how he stole from his partner who created Mikey mouse and Oswald the rabbit it’s crazy and people came forward about it it’s crazy but I’m over it 🫤🤔 and I still kinda liked the old Disney movies even after learning about the rasist parts 🤔 but the new old new ones hit better after Walt Disney died

Mona was a male archetype with a female skin. She even had a 🐓. Not to say that it wasn't a good film in its own right, but the point of it was subversion, and Disney wasn't subtle about it at all. The folks at Disney are demons walking around in a mouse suit, and it really sucks that I have to screen even Disney(who I grew up with) before letting my kids watch anything.

I'd disagree, for me the list goes:
13: Raya and the last dragon, the story tells a really harmful message and I hate sisu with a burning passion. 1/10
12: Pocahontas, it feels like it's romanticising real events and feels ichy. 2/10
11: Brave, Merida is an unlikable protagonist and it hurts as the first 30 minutes is great but it is ruined after that. 3/10
10: Frozen, Elsa is terrible and is a bad representation of depression and Hans is a bland character, the songs are good and so are the visuals and as much as I enjoy this film it hurts because it is mediocre. Anna is great and her, Kristoff and Olaf are the best parts of the film, I wish they were done better. 5/10
9: Aladdin, The genie was the best part of this film, most other stuff was bad. 5/10
8: Sleeping beauty, nothing special just a bit boring, great villain though. 5/10
7: Snow white, a fun watch but not that interesting. 6/10
6: Cinderella, the same as snow white.
5: Beauty and the beast, great film but wish the romance on belles side was fleshed out a bit more. 6/10
4: Moana, great songs and protagonist, but it felt like Moana was being pushed around by the plot for a bit and the third act break up brought the film down alot. 7.5/10
3: The little mermaid, great everything, Ariel is amazing, Eric is sort of a character and the villain is on point. 8/10
2: Mulan, Mulan is incredibly likeable and so is the story, it feels real and tells a wonderful story. It's a 8/10
1: Tangled , Rapunzel is a wonderful protagonist and her romance with Eugene fells realistic. Mother Gothel is genuinely intimidating and makes me feel nervous everytime she is on screen. The conflict makes sense and nothing about the story feels forced. I love mother Gothels subtitle manipulation of Rapunzel and how realistic it feels. The reason why mother Gothel is so effective is because she is the only Disney villain (atleast with the princess films) that feels like she could be a real person. The film for me is a solid 9/10 and will forever be my favourite Disney film.

The problem with Moana is that she IS a bystander in her own movie. Sure, at first the focus is on her. But by the midway mark she becomes "Moana the uber ride."
Plus the dramatic rise didn't click because she was wrong about something ONCE and suddenly she's "too depressed to go on!" Maui just sorta...comes back...just cause...and they do the thing. That's it.
Princess and the frog is a masterpiece, but everyone does their best to forget it because "it's racist" or whatever....even tho the white people R kinda the most crazy & rich white people anyone has ever seen and THATS Racist. But aside from that, tiana is a very great character who I identify with a lot. . And we don't look alike

On the Pocahontas part, I don't think it's fair to compare Savages with what makes the red man red. Savages is sung both by the colonizers and the natives, showing how the see each other as violent monsters, it's supposed to contrast with Pocahontas and Smith's relationship, who see each other for who they are as people. What makes the red man red is bluntly bad, and I can't say if it was made with the intention of knocking native people down or out of pure ignorance.
If you ask me, colors of the wind, although it is a bop, can be much more offensive than Savages, because it implies that natives have this magical relationship with nature and see animals as brothers and sisters, making pocahontas look almost angel-like, when in reality, they use nature as means to survive like any other human civilization.
    They're natives, Disney, not pixies.
