- What's up true believers?
Today I'm hopping into your screens and your speakers to tell you all about a wonderful Spider-Man costume that got totally passed up for, in my opinion, an inferior design at the request of Marvel executives.
It's such a shame we never got to see this spectacular suit on the big screen, but I like that we have enough behind the scenes footage for me to fill you in on its awesomeness for just a little while, y'know?
I wonder, though, do you agree with me? Would you have liked to see this design over the Stark suit they went with in Captain America Civil War? Let me know down in the comments!

Unpopular opinion but I like the tasm1 suit, it feels very thrown together like a last minute project something the average Joe can think of but only he could pull off.

I LOVE THE TASM SUIT
My favorite live action suit has got to be his new suit from the end of NWH. You can see elements from his old suits and influences from the other Spideys suits. To me it feels like it's taking the best parts of all of them.

The Civil War suit is beautiful. Noticeable webbing, solid structure, the logo is easy to see, the colours are perfect, and the black bands flow with the suit instead of cutting through (except for the boots, which still look nice).
My problems surrounding the MCU suits we got are as follows
- The logos are too small, especially the Stark Suit. It looks less like a spider and more like a black smudge
- The webbing is only noticeable on close-ups
- Tech lines are tacky
- I wish the lenses were a bit bigger and more expressive (but that becomes pointless when he’s taking off his mask every 5 seconds)
What I would do to fix them
- Bigger logos
- Less tech that basically only exists for one movie
- Either raised webbing or solid webbing. The flat webbing does make it more unique compared the the Raimi’s and Webb’s, but having them be so thin doesn’t work
- Bigger lenses for more expression
- No tech lines
- Completely throw away the integrated suit as well as the black and gold suit (The B&G isn’t a bad design, but it narratively reeks of just existing to sell more toys)
In regards to the final suit in NWH
- I love it, it’s what we should have gotten at the end of Homecoming. It would’ve made perfect sense narratively because Peter is no longer relying on Tony at all. And it makes his turning down of the Iron Spider suit have more weight because he isn’t handed back the original multi-billion dollar suit. It would’ve been perfect to have him improve on his original homemade suit after his experience in the big leagues, coming to terms that he has potential but isn’t at that level yet, he’s more than just the Stark Suit, and taking inspiration from the design of the Stark Suit.
- I love that he took inspiration from Tobey’s and Andrew’s suits with the bigger and sharper logos that are his own, the brighter colour scheme, and solid webbing
- I go back and forth on the blue. On one hand, the shininess creates an effect similar to comic book shading, on the other hand, I fee like a darker shade of blue would look a bit better (at least to me)
- Unfortunately, it’s most likely entirely CGI, but hopefully a practical one is made in the sequel that doesn’t get caked over in CGI

finally someone talks about the lens size, they're pretty expressive but damn do they need to be bigger, i agree with you on all of these including the blue for the new suit but I'd still say that it would've been pretty weird if he just abandoned the stark suit completely 'cause wouldn't it be easier to be a hero with that suit as well as abandoning a great suit to just sew a new one kind of seems weird as it would be extremely impractical but now that everyone has forgotten peter he can't have the right suits, equipment and help so it makes sense now.

When I sign up to play Spider-Man, I want to be Spider-Man. Not put on a mocap suit and be CGI'D into Spider-Man. It sucks that opportunity was taken away from Holland. I know it probably would have been uncomfortable for him and he'd probably have his mask off most of the time, but I would have liked to watch those movies and know that the actor was actually there; not in front of a green screen, and wearing the suit like the Rami movies.
Honestly, I wish they went with the Previous Design of MCU Spider-Man. Heck, I would love to see the Alex Ross Spidey Suit. If that suit ever shows up in the 4th or 5th film it should be called the Prototype Suit, because that is what it is. After Peter fought some Robbers trying to steal some Stark Tech for a Stark Industries Wearhouse, Spider-Man found a Prototype of the Stark suit. But he leaves it Because he doesn't want to lose his Character Development.
The homecoming suit never caught the vibe of spider-man for me I mean WHERE ARE THE WEB LINES, although both the far from home designs looked epic to me. The stealth suit looking really slick and tactical while the red and black far from home suit looked unique and awesome
Among the MCU suits, while I prefer the webbings to be raised, its either the final No Way Home suit, the Stark suit or the Upgraded Suit from Far From Home for me. The Stark suit is almost a nice update of the classic Suit from the comics with a bit of added details, except for the lines on the blue parts which I thought is too much. The Upgraded Suit feels like something unique for the MCU Spider-man as it is a suit completely made by Peter, albeit with Stark tech. Nothing against the Iron Spider suit but it could have be more unique looking like the comics. But it works for the MCU as Tony wants Peter to be like himself instead of another Tony Stark. The Integrated suit is just the Upgraded Suit with bits from the Iron Spider on the chest. Other than probably higher durability, it doesn't do much and like Night Monkey and the Black & Gold suit, are obviously there to sell toys. I love the final suit from No Way Home and I hope to see a practical suit of it in the future. Fingers crossed for the mechanical eyes and maybe some gadget or two he personally made since the MCU Spider-man is a more tech centered one like the Imsomniac games.
I get that CGI is necessary for movies like the MCU but the over reliance on it feels like the crew has something practical in mind and probably in the middle of making it until some undecisive execs in Marvel and Disney just demand some changes to be made and scrap whatever was originally planned. Like the original suit for Civil War is perfect for the MCU but some higher ups like "Make the webs flat so we can easily put in CGI. And use this design. Gotta sell them toys. What? You need more time to make the suit? What did I told you about CGI? Time is money to appease the big mouse or else we're bringing in the child sacrifice."

Something’s I would change about toms Spider-Man suits is that they don’t need to have so much technology involved and I would also make them a bit simpler like they don’t need all these line and I would make it have raised webs

I actually think the NWH ending suit is perfect. Yes the studio Civil War is like the Steve Ditko costume but this one reminds me of the John Romita Sr. design, which is MY favorite

the thick black lining on the red portions are fine with me, honestly, but the lines on the blue are absolutely hideous. more noticeable webbing and bigger logos would've made it perfect imo
Tbh I never strongly disliked the Stark Suit, but it was never my favorite. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man was my favorite because of the webbing. Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man is also pretty great.
I have a question. If you were to pick between the civil war concept suit or the NWH final suit, which one would you pick?
The concept art hands down. The shade of red and blue, plus the raised webbing, puts it way above the NWH suit in my opinion.

In infinity war, when it showed the group with Nat, Cap, Bruce, and Rhodes. Bruce's head exposed in the hulk buster armor, the cgi is horrendous. It made the scene lose feeling.

i totally get that. It's better. I would not though, the colors on the stark suit are better. And they'd have changed the logo anyways to what it is. I was hoping this suit would be the no way home suit though. I get ti though, this unused suit is objectively better somehow I feel, it just works, even the almost purple blue I feel fits a spider better. I also am not a fan of the lines of the lines on the stark suit, like I don't notice them. I just feel like the webbing on the stark suit look unique because they shift from black to white due to not being raised. I like the civil war CGI suit and in Homecoming but after that it should have been practical after that. Makes him look like a cartoon and looked cool in civil war but in homecoming, it just looks different and cooler less like a cartoon and more like a colorful skintight video gamy suit maybe. 4:12 wholeheartedly agree HATE that he didn't make the suit.
As for what I'd change?? Yeah honestly when i saw the NWH suit, I thought it was gonna be the unused civil war suit. Sadly no. But this works better, the nwh suit except the back logo should be the homecoming or civil war and the front should be the homemade suit logo. He should build towards the unused suit in the next movie, same logos as the first. I'm fine with the changes I just feel like it'd be more original to not just make a logo similar to the spider-men he's met plus the winter theme reminds me of spiderman blue where he has the classic back logo

Honestly I love the amazing Spider-Man 1 suit it’s got a nice home feel to it like it really does the spandex the sneaker looking bits the sun glasses lenses the watches used as web shooters it’s just got that nice homemade slapped together feel to it cause it something Peter can absolutely do

@SynhVoice To be honest I'm not a big fan of Spider-Man's MCU suits. But I do love the fresh classic suit from no way home. It rips the classic suit from the comic, and the ending gives a fresh look of the MCU's version of the comics. But part of me, still wants the simple classic suit from Steve ditko. You know, like the old logos, no patterns, just an old home made classic suit. I wanted to like the MCU outfits, but I just refuse and admitted I don't. Like at all. The classic Spider-Man suit from MCU is always my favorite and I'm glad they brought it to the big time screen.
At this time the role of Spider-Man wasn’t really apart of this movie, and was added very late, so it amazing that the second suit that we got looked so good even tho it was all cgi, while it has issues it’s not a bad suit, it’s all up to personal preference

If you ask me, the change i would do is to all his costumes except the iron spider is to remove all the tech and gadgets from his suit. And keep it strictly for the Iron Spider suit. He is Spider-man, not Batman. The designs are amazing in my oppinion. But the Stark suit, just remove the blue lines and darken the webbing. It'll be fine. And the design for iron spider, tje Insomniac game did it better. I woulden't even be mad if tony just made the iron spider look 70% similar to the mark 50 but i hate that design. I love the gimicks tho. Bit putting it in all his suitsdoes not work for me.
I agree it’s a shame that this suit wasn’t used. But I do have to point one big inaccuracy the ditko era suit is red and black not red and blue. While I love the stark suit I can’t deny this suit is better. And on the topic of cgi I genuinely don’t care if it is or isn’t used, it can feel like it’s overused but in some cases it’s fine with me.
Just give homie some bigger lenses and a fat logo on the back and I’ll be happy.

Apparently, it's because the suit wasn't finish at the time so the finished it in CGI. Another reason is because they want Spider-Man's body to be like smooth, stuck onto him.
also because there were too many costumes to make and the raised webbing kept falling off
I do prefer some things on the test suit but i can't really like it because of 2 things.
Number one the material maybe it's just me but the suit looks like it's made of rubber like this spider-man looks like he does full on michael keaton bat turns in order to see plus that mask must be suffocating him the problem is worst on the red like spider-man's costume should be made out of cloth not rubber.
Issue number two the colors or lack there of like seriously up until the stark suit every movie spider-man was wearing dark muted colors hell in the concept art the blue looks straight up black don't get me wrong i do like red and black spidey suits i mean i love the far from home suit but i need some bright colors in my spider-man suits hell all the mcu suits up until recently were so dark and colorless like seriously these guys are supposed to bright and colorful let them be bright and colorful.

Nice Metal Gear Solid background music. Also I'd love to see a suit on the big screen that has something unique like the Scarlet Spider with it's hoodie or Spider-Man Unlimited with the little web cape.
I like all the suits they’ve made for the movies. MCU, or otherwise. Some more than others. I do think the blue lines on the homecoming suit are a bit much, and the no way home final swing suit is the upgrade we needed.
With reports of the final swing suit from no way home being modded on for the next film, I do hope it’s just getting rid of that sparkle on the blue a little bit, and maybe just darkening the shade.
I actually didn’t know about the logo being the same on front and back until watching this video, and I hope they find some “in universe” way to change that.
I hope the only other piece of tech Spider-Man keeps besides the web shooters are the moving eye lenses, and maybe web wings. The eye lenses NEED to stay lol. Also wouldn’t mind if in the next movie they had a bit more expression like in some of the cartoons. Not *all* the expression like flat black lines for closed eyes, but you get the point. This turned into a rant… lol

I understand replacing the practical suit with a CG one (since it was a rushed out suit), but why overhaul the design? The Stark suit is fine, but this is miles better. Perfectly sized and striking logos, no unnecessary black lines on the blue sections, and of course, raised webbing 😋

I love the Stark suit, except for those lines on the blue. They serve zero purpose, they just fill space so it doesn't look empty, even though it would look better empty.
