One of the most militarily accurate parts of this is the officers dismissing the enlisted mens' safety concerns with a "bah, take Motrin and drink water", and then *surprised Pikachu face* when it results in a potentially serious injury lol. 10/10- I love this series!
I got incredibly lucky in my playthrough with officers. My initial radioman had the linguist skill, and my XO had the navigator skill. Those 2 always were on boarding parties that first couple of months.
When performing crash dive, the boat's engines continue to chug at already established RPMs. IRL, when emergency dive order was given, diesels would rev up to maximum (all ahead flank). When going below the waves, electric motors would be engaged in their maximum RPMs until captain would give the order to slow down. The devs should fix that.
Ooooh scary… the last time I transited a uboat through the channel in SH3, it was nearly a career ending disaster. I was running through at night time, no moon, clear conditions. Racing the channel on the surface to get through the danger zone as quickly as possible. The crew spotted a patrol boat. No problem, dived quickly and ordered silent running. Waters were shallow, around 25m max at this section of the channel. Once under, the hydrophone operator detected 2 contacts nearby. Over a nervous 20mins or so, and very few periscope checks that all was well, the patrol boat had passed by and was moving away at a normal speed, and consistent heading… Suddenly, the call “we may have been detected, sir!” rang out from the hydrophone operators room. A quick pop up of the periscope confirmed, as the patrol boats lights had switched on and she was performing a turn, coming about to our position. Here I faced an impossible decision: surface and face a gun duel with a patrol boat; OR risk being depth charged by two nearby patrol boats in shallow waters. I chose to duke it out on the surface, because the latter was a death sentence. Thankfully the second contact was not close enough to be engaged. But the first contact was on our case rapidly. Within a few shots however, my gunner managed to score a lucky hit on the bow gun of the patrol boat, taking it out and igniting the magazine. She sunk quickly and explosively with all hands. We were able to run on the surface to escape the area, and after a change of underpants were capable of resuming our orders to patrol the Celtic sea.
You'd think they'd try and make the ports a little more lifelike, such as adding some random ships docked in the port. Maybe have Tirpitz fitting out at a pier or something like SH3's GWX did.
Wolfpack345: You need to get helmets for all of your crew when they man the deck gun or anti-aircraft gun, or when you board a vessel to increase their chances of survival. mybe you can purchase them some rifles at some point as well.
in WW2 American subs would sometimes raise the periscope while on the surface to give a bit of a "crows next" view over the horizon. Is that possible in this game?
I've come to really appreciate using the Observation scope in rough seas. Stabilization is really nice. I'm playing vanilla though, so obviously mileage may vary.
I avoid the Channel like the plague after 1940. Not wide enough and not deep enough. I took a few chances early in the war and scored a few ships, but it got way too dangerous later on in the war.
Another very enjoyable adventure! And I just want to observe that although you really enjoyed the mod, I am not so sure that Herr Vogel enjoyed it so much with his broken leg.
It does not make sense for the entire boot to have red light. The point is for the eyes to be adjusted to the dark, which would only concern the people looking through the telescope or getting out on the tower... the torpedo crew etc does not need to work in red light ever.
Give it time. I'm sure somebody'll create a WWI mod or a Pacific mod for Uboat eventually. I'm not - too new to Uboat to be trying to mod it in the first place, but there are people who would.
As an alternative, could've used the demolition charge too. There appears to be a slight bug in British ships which allows them to absorb a lot more shells than they would historically. One player did find that shooting the cargo boxes just behind the forecastle bypasses the normal hit box, allowing fewer shells. I've tried it. Initially, it took typically 15-20 shells to sink a single unarmored freighter, but later only about 5-8.
Hey WolfPack I will say I decided to buy this game after watching your first series and ill be honest, this game ain't meant for my brain, So I only got a few hours into it but I still enjoy watching you play this. Always excited to see new Videos from ya,
As eveyone says love the videos and this is another class one for sure just counting down the days until they release this on ps5 still on the store no date :(
The cargo hold search being interrupted made me believe Indiana Jones was on board.
One thing to remember is that searches go faster the more people you assign to the boarding party.
Straight up! I was lookin for capt Mboso and that white turtleneck of his!

Wolfpack345 finally realized that a navy runs on coffee, no matter the era, no matter the nation

Thank you for continuing the Uboat and SH3 series.
The war at sea is starting to heat up! Looking forward to some of this early war action.

This series got me back into uboat, which I haven't played in many years

Nice. New Wolfpack vid! Keep up the amazing work. The SH3 Music sure is nostalgic! Nice job man keeping the old guard nostalgic. Danke, Herr Kaleun!

Love your videos! Thank you for showcasing Sea Power, I would have missed it if not for you!
Looks good. Now, next get a diving suit. It will be needed for later missions, and if a wreck sinks on a shallow, there might be nice pickings!
Rough sea states really made this a thrilling episode of Candy Crush, U-Boat edition.
10:36 "The captain's indifference towards the crew's suffering led to low morale and further injuries from accidents."
14:12 Did anyone else hear "Run Away!" from Monty Python's Holy Grail movie?

Always great watching a Wolfpack video.
binge watching wolfpack videos in search of new early access games has been my new years resolution
Ooh new wolfpack video and interesting little run down the channel there
I am going to some sea shore birdwatching this weekend and I will be sure to be on the lookout for the periscope feather of U-48 :)
This may be going against the grain, I think a late war start/campaign would be fuckin sick.
So the guy that broke his leg. He was either thrown around while seasick or he slipped on his own sick in the Vessel etc
Huzzah for the mod compilation! Good episode, couldn't you have gotten closer to that last target for easier shots though?
Damn I looked up U-48, what a beast and the most successful of the war..
When the conning tower side dropped back in I thought it was a depth charge . 😳
10:48 "Let’s increase speed here. Make it even worse for 'em"
Oh brother 😅 have you ever been seasick inside a rocking, pitching tube? 😂
absolutley love this stuff, keep it up :)
20:50 Empire Pennant - built in 1942
The S in Calais is silent - pronunciation is (Ka LAY)
Looking forward to the steam compilation!
Will it be available as a separate download too for those of us that hate steam ? :)
Another very enjoyable adventure! And I just want to observe that although you really enjoyed the mod, I am not so sure that Herr Vogel enjoyed it so much with his broken leg.
I see why people avoid the Channel, literally where did the plane even come from and more importantly, how and WHY
First time I ever seen sea sickness break someone's leg... I guess he slipped in his own puke lmao...
Head, shoulders, a$s-over-kettle, a$s-over-kettle!

I don't like Uboat's harbour graphics.
Its as if I'm watching SH3.
But once the uboat clears coast, everything's fine.
Hey Wolfpack, I would love to see a list of the mods you have enabled today. I have a lot of mods that say "outdated" some work, some don't.
nice job sinking the freighter :)
Tubes 1 and 4 are out of service due to the wounded sailor.
Wheres the rest of it?
crazy channel dash XD
Herr Kaleun! Melde mich zum Dienst 💂
kinda sad the deck gun guys arent raining rain macs
What mods are you running ?
cool one. Like it a lot.
Just picked this game up looking forward to learning how bad of a captain I am lol.
Looks like the sinking graphics are a bit better, is that a mod or an update from the developer?
It’s a shame there aren’t any WW1 uboat sims. I know Wolfpack would certainly get a kick out of it
I wish we had US subs in sim
Give it time. I'm sure somebody'll create a WWI mod or a Pacific mod for Uboat eventually. I'm not - too new to Uboat to be trying to mod it in the first place, but there are people who would.
More british scrap headed to bottom of the channel. Wolfpack345 Thanks for another great episode !!!!!

Another Great video.

Same. My buddy has it and we tried to figure it all out. I'll stick to airplanes, but I love watching these vids.
Perhaps it would have been easier to sink the last ship with the demolition charges you brought with you, given the rough seas...
As eveyone says love the videos and this is another class one for sure just counting down the days until they release this on ps5 still on the store no date :(
Watched and Liked 👍
Haha I made that comment before the end of the video sorry
Away with you spammers!

Bro I know you gotta make $ but this videos ads are every 3-4 mins. & I have ad blockr on. Makes it unwatchable.
Wolfpack buddy I’m kinda new to this game, how do I access the binoculars while surfaced. Do I have to scroll wheel in? Or is there a hot key? Thanks!
