Superb - there is no other word for it! En tusen tack!
Yet another good composer I had never heard of. Thank you for these uploads. They have enriched my life
And this intense piece has been setting on RUclips for 8 years with few comments. At least it has been seen.
Extraño opus,digno de difundir,gracias amigo!!
What a wonderful era for the symphony. Another enjoyable one. Thank you!
I hope more of his works are put on RUclips, this is a pleasure to listen to.
A Romantic composer with those dates of whom I had never heard!! Worth a try.
The main body of the first movement is marked Allegro appasionato e tumultuoso. The tempo of the final movement is Allegro solenelle e brillante. I obtained the information here: www.svm.be/content/samuel-adolphe?display=article
I echo Harry A's sentiments concerning this symphony. Wonder if Nos. 1 thru 5 have been recorded.
Might I add a note on classical music nomenclature. The sections of a large work of music are called movements, not, as you have been calling them, "chapters". Thank you.
Interesting.
Vaguely Brucknerian or am I deeply mistaken?
2nd movement: Brahmsian lyricism, Wagnerian harmony. More compact, restrained, fine-grained than Bruckner in my opinion. Very beautiful and full of intimate expression and detail.
