    You could do light jab twice into light roundhouse kick into a dash grab, then 2 knees and an up throw into short hop up air and shroryuken( at around 0 percent) this does around 50%, this vid helped me a lot btw

      If you land with nair, then follow up with this combo but lose the knees mid grab, and either dash before shorthop upair or full hop instead of shorthop, it does 56 to 60%. If i still use knees most opponents get launched too far and it doesn't seem to be true on everyone though.

      Forward>down>down-forward(this last one is one direction, diagonally)>Hold A/B its tricky at first but just go into training and do it over and over and over and I bet you could get it in your muscle memory in less than an hour. Then try using it as a combo finisher, as most of Ken's non-smash/special attacks can cancel into it. Its essential to playing Ken optimally.

    Having a difficult time timing the light crescent kick after any move, it's like unlike most inputs I seem to be unable to input during the frames of a previously input attack and can't make an actual combo with it because there is a pause to add the crescent kick. Is there any timing suggestions you have?

    • @superstorm500ify
      @superstorm500ify 4 года назад +3

      Doppio _ You can only cancel aerials/normals into specials (crescent and roundhouse kick count as specials), but you can’t cancel specials into other specials. You should be able to cancel heavy jab into crescent kick like shoryuken but you can’t cancel crescent kick into anything. You can only buffer an input during it. Maybe that’s the problem.

      Just jump, press nair when you're above your opponent, and then fast fall into them.
      The key is that you want to hit the opponent *after* the Nair initially comes out. If you hit them too early, they will be hit by the strong hitbox and they will fly away, out of combo range.

      I'm new to Ken as well, and I have the same issue. It's impossible not to dash forward/backwards when doing these inputs. As from the blue said, if you do the inputs during other animations, the crescent/roundhouse will come out immediately

      You either have to do it really fast or very lightly, that's how the combo works.

    By the way, just to clear the confusion around move naming, I'd like to point out a few problems with how you named your moves, starting from the first combo you showcased.
    That was a heavy proximity jab, not just a heavy jab.
    We don't say "light" and "heavy" crescent kick. The "light" crescent kick is simply known as "crescent kick" and the "heavy" crescent kick is known as "crescent Inazuma"

      Oliver V he said that terminology so people who don’t play Ken know what he’s talking about when he’s explaining the combos

      You would be surprised at how many people don't understand the inputs. New players also may not even know that such an input exists. Don't forget there are young kids that play this game and visuals are very useful. But to each their own

    Top tip for any budding Ken/Ryu player: Learn negative edge

    • @MALASA_
      @MALASA_ 5 лет назад

      It's useless. And can even work against you. Dair spiking offstage and then trying to drift back to stage will input neg edge tatsu, which will in most cases make you SD.

    • @khalifrouf2579
      @khalifrouf2579 5 лет назад

      Eric Gabriel de Guzman all the more reason to learn it, so that you don’t accidentally SD with it then

    You can’t even spell the word “crescent” correctly... why would I trust any other information in the video when the thumbnail and title of your video is spelling the name of the move you are doing wrongly... and how do you not pick up on that at any point? If the name is spelled wrong then what other silly mistakes could you have made... just my criticism

      If you can't spell it right, then you don't know how to use the move.
