As an instructor, I want to show this clip because it's amazing how little the arguments and spoken words have changed. Apologists seem to say the same thing again and again.

Got to love that answer. :D Rahimahullah brother Malik! Amazing how he always said Elijah teaches us making it clear those were not his teachings or the teachings of Islam (not to be confused with the fake religion of NOI).

just for info, that elija muhammad did the biggest sin you can ever do. he called himself a prophet of god or allah and teached lies about islam. the last prophet of allah was Muhammad s.a.w. and he died 1400 years ago. So this elija will most likely burn in hellfire forever. but the good knews are that malcolm x and muhammad ali found to the real religion of islam later on before they died. may allah grant both of them the highest paradies.

Yes, Elijah Muhammad said he met W. D. Fard who said he was a messenger of Allah then later the story evolved where Elijah Muhammad said he told him he was Allah and Elijah was his Apostle. Years later, his son Warith Deen questioned his father about it, accusing him of lying about the whole Apostle thing. I think he found some suspicious paperwork or he’d asked the old heads if WD Fard had called himself God, each of the participants said No he never called himself that so Elijah was lying. Warith Deen Muhammad (named after Fard) is the reason many former Nation of Islam members are now orthodox Muslims. Dad passed the torch to him and the first thing he did was got rid of the NOI in favor of true Islam. Only later in the 90’s did Farrakhan try and resurrect it when he knows better.

I wonder how Malcom would have changed his response here later in life, just like he changed his views. I doubt he would still believe such extremist viewpoints.

When he left the Nation of Islam, he stopped following Elijah Muhammad’s teachings. He traveled to Mecca and saw white people who were Muslim. That is when his views changed. Unfortunately, it was towards the end of his life.

Malcolm X views weren’t extremists. He spoke 100% Truth unapologetically! Has he continued living he would have realized white Mecca Muslims hate Black People too.

Like the other brother said, Malcolm no longer believed in Elijah Muhammad’s message and came out of it almost like a cult member comes out of brainwashing. He was a loyal follower but they took him for granted. He wanted to get back in with them though Allah had other plans. It’s said in the Quran, I believe in Chapter 2: ‘When you plan Allah plans and he is the best of planners.’ So by the time they didn’t want him back he took a trip to Mecca- hajj, and visited other countries within Europe and Africa. By the time he got back he realized he didn’t need them and their funky organization. He could build his own but one based in truth it’s why he had the the Muslim Mosque Inc where he had a sanctuary for Muslims to go and pray and learn to be good Muslims, REAL Muslims and separately the OAAU to address social injustices, leaving religion and politics completely separated. He would have done a lot of good if only they would have let him live.

Malcolm’s point here still remains valid, both about the fact that it’s our right to defend ourselves, and the notion that White men/the opposing party will try to find someone/anyone else to contest a poignant argument that was aptly made against them-especially one that came from a civil rights activist.
Malcolm’s reasoning for addressing White men as devils is primarily due to their devilish behaviors, and wicked contempt against Blacks. It’s very sane to recognize the absolute worst of your abuser/oppressor, (ie. calling them monsters; which is far kinder than the awful terms they gave us.)
