Poison Ruin is just straight up good ass rock music. They're like that band you've never heard of but they inspired all the best bands of the time and most of your favorite bands and are highly respected by their contemporaries but no average person has ever heard them. I had a white friend who did this with his Mexican gf and she absolutely loved it. They’d play up these like border control and “this is the only way you can get your green card” fantasies and it was pretty funny tbh
