Nice & Slow
Shine On Through
Are You Ready For Love Видеоклипы
That voice makes my heart melt!
I think, like all of us, he was happier and more easy-going as a young man. This album is an underrated work of art.
that's my mom in the white long sleeve dress lol. Crazy to see her so young!
NO WAY that's awesome
By being in this great video, your lovely mom now has eternal youth, not many of us can say that😊
This is beyond fabulous! He's such a ham - I cannot get over how amazing his voice is!
You can't hear it for being muffled!
Architect of the Philly sound Thom Bell RIP
Momma don't want you, give it up baby, baby. I have forgotten that song from that time.
Fantastic. Thom Bell is a genius!!
He's easy on the eyes 💕
His smile is 😇
I want his clothes ! the cap and Jacket !
James Accardo It sounds like Terminator
Mama Can't Buy You Love" bears a strong resemblance to the chord structure of the opening instrumental of Ronnie Dyson's "One Man Band (Plays All Alone)" (after the site's short instrumental section). According to the Hot 100, Thom Bell produced both records. wiki @16:32
Yes,
and the Spinners sang background on it.
38:22 so sweet we he forgot the words ; D love this
I love that part
HIs music stand failed and sunk down.😆
I Love this jacket
Great to see Elton actually recording. Thank you for posting!!
He is singing from Heart incredible
He loves to fun
It's very interesting to hear these early mixes in semi-decent fidelity though
RIP Thom Bell
My great-uncle, a no nonsense butcher from Germany, ran into Elton during this time at a mall in Philly. According to family legend, he and Elton - who was in his full Pinball Wizard attire - exchanged pleasantries.
Not a great story.
So fun and relaxed, different from a concert or interview.
Are you ready for love... interminable, but fun. And charged, as John Reid is there. It's like the camera knows
Charged?
Loved this LP since I bought it back in the day! Some of the songs on the songs on the LP also came out as an EP!!
I have this album such sensual
This is incredible. Thanks for posting
...this is VERY telling footage, as to how Elton can 'turn it on' for the Cameras, AND vocally...he's clearly miming prerecorded Vocals here, but turns on the 'visual' charms, then, just...shuts down, and, OFF... (16:00) (5:48) ..only on "Are You Ready...", is when the PERFORMER, appears.... (47:01) ...a VERY underrated session, of his Legacy....
May be multi tracking.
Love this ! 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Where and how did you find this? Amazing, thank you
LOVE IT!!!!
Elton hermosoooo
Cool !!!
Thank you for sharing
Very nice
Genius.
Strong.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY his live concert videos are not published and why are the videos published where he is struggling to lip syncing
I read that these sessions didn’t go that well, and he and Bell didn’t see eye-to-eye on a lot of stuff, so they were cut short.
This is great footage, but why did you age restrict it?
LOVE THIS!!! I immediately fell in love with this music and his unique style here--and he's SO CUTE!! But sorry, ever since Rocketman I cannot stand the sight of John Reed!! And his outright flirtations in the recording of the studio listening preview was shameless!! Yuk!
It Reid not Reed
Como sea you know who
I sang this with Hollie !
Is it John Reid in the crowd?
Yes it is
and even though Bernie Taupin only co-wrote Nice & Slow form these sessions..he's also in crowd...far right (short guy with shaggy facial hair & cap) during Are You Ready for Love (approx 36:45)
Yess
36.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laid back
SO i sexy I WAS SO MAD ON HIM
I wouldn't call these vocal sessions - he's miming along, presumably for the benefit of the camera. Odd!
Possibly so it could be used for a music video, which it was.
Correct. This is not how a vocal session typically works...
Didn't Elton and Thom fall out during these sessions? Such a shame as Elton was just finding his soul and may have gone down a different road genre wise.
8:30 Elton se estaba drogando?
Too bad producer Thom Bell and
Elton John didn’t get along.
They only did six songs and abandoned the sessions all together because of their constant fighting.
This was recorded in 1977
and wasn’t released until 1979.
Wow I didn’t know that information, I do know Thom said the record executives behind Elton didn’t like him working with Elton . Did you know the 4 original Stylistics NEVER SANG on ANY THOM BELL recording ??? He didn’t like thier sound , ONLY Airrion Love sang on “ you make me feel brand new “ and I think “ you are everything “ , Russell Thompkins begged Thom to let Airrion sing on the songs , so he sang on 2 songs . You can hear it from his mouth on the Russell Thompkins interview on RUclips. Also Randy Cain of the Delfonics said the Stylistics songs were meant for the Delfonics and some arrangements were a little different but pretty much the same, and had they gotten them they would’ve been bigger than the Beatles !!!

Yes.
I know that the other Stylistics never sang on anything that Thom Bell produced for them.
They didn’t sing on the first three albums which were:
The Stylistics
Round 2
Rockin Roll Baby
Yes,
Airron sang the harmony part
on “You Are Everything” and
the two verses of
“You Make Me Feel Brand New” because
Russell beg Thom to let him come because they were friends at that time.
The actual background vocals on the first three albums were done by:
Russell Thompkins,Jr
Thom Bell
Carl Helm
Bunny Sigler
Kenny Gamble
and
Phil Hurtt
along with the
Sigma Sweethearts:
Barbara Ingram
Yvette Benton
Carla Benson,
and
Linda Creed
Jaylen E. Turner , I’m a 67 year old black male born on the south side of Chicago ( in Woodlawn area home of , Minnie Riperton , Chi-lites , ) and serious record collector , and have some very valuable soul/ rock albums . You hit the nail on the head with what I left out , are you related to one of the philly writer’s ? Also type in on RUclips “ Brotherly Love mama’s little baby loves lovin “ to see my comments , those 5 actual blood brothers were awesome , but thier last name was Jackson , and thier father was related to the Jackson fives dad Joe somehow ( Aaron Jackson told me this , but he didn’t know how they were related) and thier contract got bought out so they couldn’t compete with the Jackson Five . They did a TON of music that got canned , only 2 singles got released, RUclips “ Brotherly Love growing pains , and Brotherly Love I don’t see me in your eyes , NOTE: the B side of Mama’s little baby loves lovin is “BINGO “ nobody has put it on RUclips yet. The lead singer the baby of the family Reginald passed last year .

I am a young 21 year old
singer/songwriter,
and I have been listening to
Thom Bell and the
Philly soul’s productions since
I was 17.
It inspires me every days.
I hope one day I can
work with Thom Bell,
Kenny Gamble,and Leon Huff.
Jaylen E. Turner , they are my idols. guess what ?after YEARS of wanting to know WHO in the HELL is this GUY who sang lead on the THOM BELL arranged “ same old love “ by the COURTSHIP, I and other soul fans , collectors found out a few years ago and were SHOCKED !!! The lead singer is Billy Hill who was an original member of Anita Humes & the Essex !!!! I couldn’t believe it , he saw my question and others on a RUclips video of thier song oops it just slipped out/ love ain’t love “ arrangement by the great Bobby Martin a few years ago and said the other 2 members were Ryder college students Donald Robbins and Bruce pembert , I have a photo of them in a soul singles discography book 3 white USA soul collectors put out some years and one of them had the photo of the Courtship in it ( I was told this by a U.K. Soul fan ) I HAD to have this to see what they looked like, I purchased the book and asked I the one who had the photo wanted to sell it but he didn’t. I did post the photo on the u.k . Soul collectors site ( Soul source ) and a lot of collectors were glad to finally see them that hadn’t. You could google it and can pull up the picture ( 2 are standing and one is sitting at a piano, Billy is standing kind of turned to his right ) also a cd was released on Deepbeats with THREE unreleased Courtship songs plus the released songs Except same old love / last row first balcony , MAN , the Bobby Martin arrangement on “ Friends just Friends “ will bring tears to yours eyes , and Billy’s little Anthony-ish vocals are heavenly and the way he sings and says laaavh ( love ) whew !!! That ballad is sweet , the other sweet haunting Bobby Martin ballad is “ caught in the act of lovin you “ man Billy and the guys say shoo be do be doooooo , then he softly sings ( I’m caught in the act of lovin you) but his way is , Highmmm cot in the act of lovin you . Dam this is sweet !!! , lastly the THOM BELL “ for the chance of loving you . Has a u.k. English 1960’s classical sound and shows the guys singing in great form , you can hear Thom’s piano genius throughout the song. I saved all videos of Billy Hill on RUclips singing live by himself, he did six at an event outside with kids ( he doesn’t sing like Little Anthony in any of them , he isn’t singing any Courtship songs 😢 he does covers , and I think that Little Anthony ish voice is just one of several he sings in , but I LOVE it . The deepbeats cd is available go to Discogs.com and type it in for sellers. “Deepbeats old school harmony volume 2 -DGPCD 784 , oh also on the Delfonics 1999 cd forever new- listen to the Thom Bell arrangement of “she’s the kinda girl” man this will tear you up , Thom STILL has it , and it’s like William Hart was waiting for them to do something again, it was magic !!! William did mention on RUclips in an interview about Thom Had contacted him about a song he had for them. Lastly I don’t know if this song was released by the courtship but it’s Billy Hill “ don’t ask me “ and he is in great little Anthony ish voice here , another version with the SAME music is “ Jay & the Techniques don’t ask me to forget, exact same song but Billy KILLED IT . Also listen to Billy’s singles on Motown as Billy Proctor ( he sounds like Jerry Butler) “what is black “ and a few others I cannot recall , he also had a group Billy Proctor and love system , they did a few 45’s all the above are on RUclips except the 3 cd cuts .
U look like a hungry cat sometimes, Elton :D
