Hi, I am the son of two artists and began painting in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia before I could walk. I was a rare combination of artist and athlete so I moved to Los Angeles in 2008 to play football for USC. I left the team my sophomore year to focus on painting and filmmaking, applying the same focus and discipline from my football career to my art. I primarily work in oils, and spend most free days painting "en plein air" in my new home of Sarasota Florida.

Really liked this painting! Must also smile when I see a chewing gum chewing body builder looking so cool doing his painting stuff. And then your name on the boat. Great!!!! :D
I live in Venice and I have been searching for a subject just like this. Great video and great tip
Beautiful artwork Congratulations
thank you for the consistent uploads
Nice work ! I know plein airists need a high tolerance for whatever happens out there, but spotty dappled light on the canvas would drive me nuts 😬😄
Love it
AWESOME
You did a good compo.
Lets go!
On this painting and others, I'm always amazed at how effortlessly and accurately you paint straight lines and 90 degree angles.

I paint those exact same panels!...
Their so good!’love the vid!
Badass composition on this one.
This was so fun to watch! I love your style!
Love anything to do with the sea. That’s a bonza painting. I will definitely try that with my acrylics. Haven’t moved on to water / oils.
Still haven’t been game to try that yet. Thanks for a great tutorial.

Bravissimo!
Spieghi Molto Bene, ed É una Magia Vedere come il Soggetto Appaia Quasi Reale!! Colori Davvero Affascinanti:hanno Sempre un qualcosa di Retrò Meraviglioso!
Fantastico e Molto Interessante! :) :)!!
Grazie^.^^.^!!
Looks great. I don't think i have ever adjusted a painting back home, but maybe I should try.
I love this!!!
Love, love, love your loose style. Would like to own a painting by you.
Great painting, and as usual there was a lot to learn by watching you work. What is the Pochard box you are using in the video, and can it handle larger panels?
Lovin This!
It turned out really nice, Your shadow tones are great🎨😊 Just subbed to Mate🎨
ahhh so good!
awesome job! Did people come up to you to see your painting or ask questions about it?
Impressive works!
By the way, did you modify your easel? I saw you painting on the inside of the easel opening. On amazon.com, I saw a canvas stand on the outside of the box.
Great music, Art, tutorial 👍Subbed!
@Paint Coach. Could you explain a little bit about the medium and oil? When to use what and how much? Thank you!
Will do
@@paintcoach Maybe while painting you could show how much oil and color you are using? :) Thank you. One painting teacher told me, that I should use at least medium at possible. But this doesn't sound right.
Curious (I’m brand new to oil painting), how long can/do you leave the oil paints in that wooden box? Once you squirt oil paint out of the tube, how long is it viable for use? Is there a way to save the leftovers for later use?
It depends on the brand of paints and colors. For example white dries really slow and I've found the Gamblin paints dry slower than Winsor & Newton. They might get a hard shell over them which you can break and use the wet paint inside. I'd say you got a couple days before they get to hard. You can save paint in anything that is air tight. Most are stores sell empty paint tubes for that exact purpose. I've also seen artists scrape all the remaining paint from their palette into to gray pile and save it as a gray.
I really think it's a shame that you ruin your video with that godawful "music"
I liked the music the most in this video the painting is probably something my grandma would like.
@@Expressionistix Fair enough. I prefer silence.
...turn down the volume it was cool you also added a positive comment .... oh, wait ....
