Well in real life Joss whedon is in fact a very morally bankrupt man. He may produce great television shows and movies. But he had affairs with actresses on both Buffy and Angel. I cannot argue with his talent at all. But as a human being, as a man, he is nothing but dirt to me. Another human being who was a great artist was Alfred Hitchcock. And he treated women so poorly and abused them so badly when they were working on his films I feel the same way about that amazing artist. Alfred Hitchcock is another human being who is a great artist but to my mind, he is another morally bankrupt human being. Sorry to get so frustrated and angry with these two men but they have done terrible things. Yet they produce great art. It is mind-boggling. I find it was very painful and yet very powerful to have willow look at angel and Angel just say quote it's Buffy. It was understated but very powerful. With respect to Allison hannigan David Boreanz

I read it another way, I think Gunn realizes that Angel may not die, because all he needed to know was that he could control it and in the end he does. An amazing end of the season arc!
Groosalugg! Groosalugg! Groosalugg! Seriously, that dude is awesome. To me, the Pylea arc is the most BTVS story in Angel, in terms of tone, visuals and stakes. It's a little whimsical with very clearly defined heroes and villains and as little of the ambiguity of real life as Angel will ever have. They're fairly explicit about some of this, but it just feels like a 'Buffy story' to me, which is probably why it's one of my favorite parts of the show.
Its interesting that a vampire looks more like a demon in this other dimension, but is constricted in Earth's dimension. In the season 3 finale of Buffy, the Mayor found a way to unleash his true form on Earth.
Speaking of which...Anya said that pure demons are way bigger than hybrid demons like vampires,so..shouldn't demon Angel be...you know...bigger?@.@ Also,I wonder if that demon has a name...I mean...Angelus is a name that vampire Liam chose for himself,right?I wonder what the DEMON's real name is.🤔 EDIT:But now that I think about it..vampire Liam's personality _should_ be the demon's so...THAT THING is REALLY called ANGEL???😱
I always understood it as the split between the man and the demon widens. The human side is able to walk in the sun, sees itself in reflections, is much more human, but it comes with the cost of the demon side losing everything that makes it human, being a savage beast. It fits with Pylea's black and white morality, compared to earth's shades of grey.
I always felt that all this stuff about Cordelia becoming the queen of Pylea was a chance for her to channel her inner child... and become again the way she was in high school. Just for a few days. ('There's stuff about Messiah me?' --- 😂😂😂) And Fred, when she's told 'they made Cordelia a princess', looks so much like young Willow in Season 1 BTVS going like, 'of course you want to hang out with Cordelia, not with me!'... Cordelia sure knows what it's like to be a princess, doesn't she?
I'm guessing the production company got a really good deal on medieval stuff, and went all in on the sets and costumes for _Angel_ and the costumes and horsies (don't kill the horsies!) on _Buffy._ It's a fantastic series finale for both shows.
In Through The Looking Glass If ever there was part made for Cordelia it was this. Again totally comedy overload in Pylea. Fred of course is totally charming, she was always a fan favourite from the entire Buffyverse. The writers did put some interesting changes into the Dynamic where Angel is overcome by his pure demon side, and cannot contain it as back in his own dimension. A bit of a shocker when Lorne's head is on the platter! I thought in There's No Place Like Pltz Glrb we were relieved to see Lorne still alive, even though is only in head form. The Priests of course are totally evil. More great comedy when Gunn is in the stocks about to get his head cut off. Amy Acker puts is a great performance as Fred (BTW when you finish Angel, you could if you like watch Dollhouse starring Eliza Dushku, Faith in Buffy, and Amy Acker Fred in Angel it's a superb show). Super scene at the end when Cordelia decapitates the evil priest. Great little scene too when Lorne says to Angel that they both belong in L.A. because nobody is actually from there. We were of course so happy for the gang when they make it back to the hotel, but then seeing Willow there is such a shock for them. Great to see you enjoying the show now, as many of us said it really is a great show on its own, but of course is still very much linked to BTVS. Some super episodes in S3 of Angel.
Think back to season 1 of Buffy. If someone had told you then that one day, Angel would be completely smitten with an oblivious Cordelia, you would never have believed them.

That aside, why would he leave what he sees in his calling in LA just to hook up with Buffy again? Especially if he's developed feelings for Cordelia? And I don't know if Buffy told him she broke up with Riley, and we see in New Moon Rising that trying to slot yourself back into your old relationship when your ex-girlfriend has moved on without you is a bad idea. There are reasons he might consider a relationship with Cordelia but not Buffy. The chemistry thing is subjective, to each their own there. But it's not Illogical.

The Wolf, Ram, and Hart reveal is such a good reveal. But Demon Angel, Fred, and Groo are also such good parts of this arc.
