I hope Yamaha will soon increase the potential and upgrade this Software, even if by purchasing, with these critical features : 1) Possibility to set OTS instrument for each section 2) Possibility to create Half Bar Fill 3) Possibility to use Mute/Solo instruments selections also in the sections style looping and not only in Midi playthrough 4) Possibility to edit individual notes of the sections when necessary.
Very easy to use, intuitive, of course it's not perfect but for us (the ones who create styles) makes edition easier, just an extra tweak and that's all! Thank you!!!

I have a problem that I haven't found a solution to on any forum and I don't know who to ask. After converting many MIDI files to style with the MIDIS SONG TO STYLE program, (MIDIS from various sources) I later convert them to SFF1 format with another program, to later load it on my Tyos 2. The style works correctly but the problem is that when playing minor chords, and also others that are different from major chords, the style changes the time signature, the drums, etc., and sounds completely out of time, and even new sound effects sound that were not heard before in the rhythm. Maybe the problem is when converting from SFF2 to SFF1. I don't think it is a programming error in the original MIDI file, since I have tried many different MIDI files. I have tried in EDIT mode to change the rhythm channels, etc., but the problem persists. When transforming from MIDI to style with another program, for example MIDI2STYLE, I don't have that problem. Not if any user has this same problem. I would greatly appreciate a possible solution or explanation. Thank you so much.

".sts" is a 'Song-to-Style' Project file and not a 'Style' file. Save the midi analysis to a style on your PC and then just rename it from ".sty" to ".mid" and you now have a midi file with markers

Installed the program on my Dell laptop but it is not working because i think my graphics card is not OpenGL compatible and gives me an error as it tries to start. So to run this program i also have to buy another computer 😢

A Yamaha STY file is in fact a standard MIDI file with special markers. A Korg STY is a folder. Completely different. You can convert MIDI files to styles on the PA5x itself. By the way, when you create a Yamaha compatible drum kit and Yamaha compatible Mega Voices, you could turn a Yamaha style into a Korg style. Change the extension to mid.
Running W11 but the Midi Song to Style brakes down every 5 Minutes - just quits - I don´t have this issue with any other app on this PC - on my Laptop it´s running but this does not really help me with my PC. Any suggestion? Appreciate your help.
My W11 has no problem. Does the app break down without doing anything? If not, it seems the computer doesn't have enough memory. Please write your memory and CPU on your W11.

Absolutely waste of time. I've just converted a midi to a style then import it on my keyboard. After importing the style i tried to play it. It didn't play the styles and the keyboard suddenly froze, remained unusable even the buttons and wheels won't work anymore. Fix your software Yamaha! My keyboard is EW425.
After you used Yamaha's midi to style converter, the style that you made is in SFF 2 format(known also as SFF GE format) and the EW425 cannot handle it. Try to convert the style that you made with Style Format 2 Converter by Jørgen Sørensen to SFF format so it can play on EW425.

7:30 no mention of normal Genos in the shown models… Only Genos2… is it supported to upload styles to Genos I bought last year?

I tried converting a MIDI file to a Style file, but my Pa5X doesn't see the file that I imported via USB thumb drive.

i5-3570k - 32GB - found the error - updated the video driver from NVIDIA to the latest version - problem solved - runs without any issue now

PSR S970 can play Genos styles as long they doesn't use Revo kits
