I friend of mine is a retired Seal… he helps recruit candidates for seals … gets them to enlist in the navy…. Most fail the underwater swim… kind of the “bait and switch”
My best friends son failed the Seal training because he got sick and had 105 degree fever and couldn't continue! He went on to become a Marine Corp Chopper pilot and flew Marine 1 for several years and now is a Helicopter Instructor for the Marine Corp!
at least he made it that far. I barely passed the SEAL test in Boot Camp in 1990 in the pool because a mate in the company convinced to take him with him. I had to no plans to join the SEALs since I already had an A school and a rate (AW Sub hunters in P-3 Orions) and I wasn't giving that up when I knew I couldn't swim 5 miles in the ocean at night with the sharks in BUDS and that's 1 thing of many to graduate from BUDS and still you are not even a SEAL. So I told them NO on the orders in Boot Camp and kept my original orders. My mate went but he didn't make it, he was part of the 85% that dropped out. He went to do my job but as a Rescue Swimmer on Helos. He had a great career. I like the water but not that much. The only time We had to jump in the water to do our jobs is if the plane had to ditch. So basically never in my tour.
Thanks for sharing! I’m in the Army and went through OCS in 2007/2008. We did maybe 1% of what this guy went through lol but I have flashbacks right now. I have no idea how I did it-but still serving today. 🇺🇸
Ramping up the Vietnam war lowered the requirement of fleet experience for frogman trainees. I was one of the first three 'boots' to go to the TEAMs in 1965, A weak trainee, it took two tours to 'Nam before I felt myself worthy to be in that high speed company of SEAL Team 1 operators. I'd not take millions$$$ for the memories, nor would I take millioms$$$ to repeat them.
I wasn’t a SEAL or even in the Navy ( 18B/Sgt. Maj. U.S. Army Ret.) but I have personally worked with both tiers of Navy SEALs, and for the sake of brevity are some of the most dangerous men you’d ever encounter. The types of men that bad men have nightmares about. They’re the most “well known” of the SOF community, especially Red Squadron of Development Group (DEVGRU) or “seal team 6” (Robs old squadron). I’m loving the claymore land mine shirt he’s wearing 🤣🇺🇸
Michael’s next video is going to be on how to become an island boy because we all know Michael Rapaport a.k.a. the oldest island boy loves to hear himself talk😂😂😂
I really wish he talked a normal pace. Every interview I see of him it feels like he’s on adderall or like he has 30 seconds to talk because he’s holding in a big poop.
There is an optional SEAL swim test in boot camp. Anyone that passes the regular Navy swim test can take it. If you pass that they will put you in selection, which does not mean you are going to BUDS. You may end up going to your A school for your regular job first, you may end up trying multiple times. This is how it worked when I was in the Navy a million years ago 🤣.
This guy has been called out by several former special ops guys for being full of it and not once did I see him go on their shows to address it. Wasn’t there so couldn’t tell you but 🤷♂️ I have no dog in the fight but look up Brent Tucker. Apparently there’s another narrative than this one
“He’s a professional recruiter, why would he lie to me?” Words to live by
He'd lie for the same reason why rob is lying about killing bin laden, money
“You just killed yourself. You passed the goddamn test…”. Lmao
I love to hear stories about being a navy seal. Thanks for the show.
“That’s some mamba mentality shit” I’m fucking wheezing 😂
Love hearing the real life experiences of a real hero. Respect!

You mean he quit? You don't get kicked out for being sick, if it's bad enough you get rolled to the next class up... So he got a fever and quit

They can boot you or roll you to another class for medical.

You're still in the army?! Fellow captain here, you should be a LTC right now?

Getting dumped by a girl is a powerful recruiting tool. Ask me how i know.
How did you get selected for buds outta boot camp? Who gave you the recommendation?

Talk to a SEAL mentor before you do anything.

Your on the left mike stay in your lane interview your people
Step 1: allow brainwashing
Step 2: do what you are told to
Step 3: don't get shot
In my opinion, they are over rated!
God this shit is played out
Here's how...don't.
Dont listen to this bull
